The Cursed King

Chapter 230 - Loriel Is Slowly Falling

Chapter 230 – Loriel Is Slowly Falling

There was no denying that Loriel gave in to Elise's requests of having him spend a lot of time around her chambers.

Of course, the king always made the excuse that he was sick and was in need of his wife's care. Even if it wasn't actually the truth.

Maybe Elise knew that Loriel was lying, or she could not tell at all, but the two of them continued on with this charade that six months later Loriel almost felt like the queen's chamber was his own second residence.

Loriel did not want to leave his clothes here in Elise's room though. The act of leaving articles of his clothing around might send the wrong message…

However, now he was also making the effort to travel back and forth from the king's residence into the queen's.

Well… it was actually a lot of effort to do so.  After Loriel was done with the tasks of ruling over the kingdom, meeting with state officials and delegates in his throne room, and other things, he traveled to the queen's residence.

When the day ended and Loriel was tired, he would also find the daily affairs of the kingdom as an excuse to head to Elise's place to actually complain while getting massaged by his lovely wife.

The distance was usually enough to make him take a carriage or a horse. So, what he would usually do was, he traveled to Elise's residence to have dinner with her, and then he would rest a little bit in her chamber.

If Elise was not giving him a head massage, she would be reading something, or playing with Brick and Loriel just enjoyed her presence.

Then, when the night was getting late, the king would take his horse and went back to his residence. He would leave from there in the  morning to start his work as the king in the royal court.

So it was actually counterproductive to actually head back into his own chamber afterward to get his good night's sleep after he got his fix at Elise's place.

The two of them have grown a lot closer, not only by Loriel being physical around Elise, but because Loriel was also listening to what she had to say.

"There is this kingdom that seeks to trade with us, but he offered a terrible deal because he says the distance is too much for his merchants. Who does he think he is?" Loriel growled one moment. He told her about some trade proposal he received that day.

Elise's fingers did their magic on his scalp and forehead. She listened to him attentively and at their current relationship standing, was not actually shy to offer some of her thoughts on the matter.

"Your Majesty, what if you imposed some kind of… tax relief? If the resources the kingdom is offering are important to Summeria and there are no other options, some kind of special trade tax as long as they lower their costs might help? At least Summeria would be able to break-even with the expenditures?" She gave her opinion after she thought about it for a while.

"Hmm…" Loriel closed his eyes and thought about Elise's proposal. "I will have some of my people look into making something as you suggested. Thank you."

"You're welcome." Elise smiled at him.

Loriel averted his gaze from her delicious lips and tried to close his eyes instead. But the sound of Brick crying again so pitiful tore Elise's attention away from him. Loriel scowled for a moment and then 'winced' in pain.

Ha. It worked, Elise asked her maid to take Brick and bring her to play outside of her chamber. Loriel enjoyed his victory with a small smile as his wife's slender fingers went back to rubbing his head lovingly.

It was good to know that even though Elise seemed to love and spoil Brick, she still chose Loriel over and over again. The man felt happy. He knew he was always number one in Elise's heart. Brick could keep dreaming!

Now, the man wondered if they had a child. Would Elise also love and spoil the kid? Would she love and care for the child more than Loriel?

Well…. if there was anyone Loriel was willing to share Elise with, it would be their child. Oh… she was so loving and sweet. He believed she would make a wonderful mother.

Loriel suddenly winced at this thought.

What was I thinking? He asked himself.

Their child?

No, no… there wouldn't be any child because…

Well, because they had never slept together. Loriel had never even spent the night here with Elise until morning. Those servants outside might think the couple had done the deed and Loriel always went back to his chamber afterward.

They didn't know that the king had never touched the queen sexually. He had never even kissed her.

Loriel's mind slowly wandered. What would their child look like when they had one? Would s/he take after Loriel… or Elise?

The king secretly hoped if they had a son, he would look like Loriel. Elise was too beautiful, he thought. If their son took after her, he would look beautiful too. It was better if he looked like his father.

Loriel was very handsome, but his appearance didn't have any hints of femininity, unlike that guy from Draec who had a beautiful face like a woman's and his skin soft and glowing. Eww…

In Loriel's opinion, a real man should be handsome, not beautiful, he thought. He must have thick skin and be strong like a bull. He wanted his son to be just like him.

What would they name their son if they had one? Loriel didn't have any good relationship with his father, so definitely he wouldn't name his son after the late king of Summeria.

Hmm… maybe they could name their son after Elise's father? King Alexander was an impressive man and Loriel liked him a lot.

Wait… why was his mind going that far????

Loriel was thinking of their future son's appearance and name? He and Elise had not even had sex.

The man growled in frustration. He already told her that he would not sleep with her.

Was it too late to take back his words now? Wouldn't Elise look down on him if he suddenly changed his mind?
