Chapter 139: The Sorcerer
Chapter 139: The Sorcerer
Hao Xuan stood before the gate waiting for the owner of the voice to arrive.
A few minutes passed and the sound of the metal clicking came from the other side before the gate opened on its own.
On the other side stood tall man with a pale complexion. He had burn marks all over his face and looked like he had just come out a fight.
"Who are you? What do you want? Why are you creating trouble here?" he fired one question after another while carefully analyzing Hao Xuan himself.
Hao Xuan didn't answer straight away and looked at the city behind him. Galena was a city of two million people on its own and with the evacuation order, there must have been panic among the populace, yet right now the city looked like a ghost a town. There was not a single soul other than the tall man anywhere in sight.
The black haze that was surrounding the Castle was so dense just on the other side of the gate that it seemed like a different world.
"Are you the City Lord?" he asked coldly while tightening the grip on the glaive.
"I am Fel, the city lord is my foster father. Who are you to inquire about him?" the man answered with an annoyed expression.
The Guards were still standing on the sidelines with shaking legs and the commotion was big enough to attract the attention of every civilian outside the gate as well. They stood a few dozen meters behind Hao Xuan and looked at Fel aggressively. Some of the children were even making funny faces at him while one tried to throw rocks but his father stopped him.
Hao Xuan was starting to get a really bad feeling about this place. The Galena of right now reminded him of the mining village, minus the dark energy. And thinking about the village reminded him of the creatures and then Kanna, which only made him angrier and sadder.
"Where are the civilians? Where is everyone?" he asked lightly.
Fel furrowed his brow and backed up a few steps. The dark energy twisted and turned and coiled around him protectively.
"They are....not here anymore. Who are you?" he asked with a smirk.
Hao Xuan's heart skipped a beat. "I knew it," he thought inwardly and shook his head.
"Last time you people escaped, this time I won't allow it," he mumbled. Fel looked at him confusedly, not knowing what he was mumbling about.
Instead of answering and explaining everything to him one by one, he simply took out his ID badge and inserted some Qi into it.
It flew up from his hand and floated above him. He looked at Fel and spoke solemnly.
"I am Deimos."
*Bzzzt*
The space ripped open in the shape of an eye, a red eye.
"The Ninth head of the Red Legion."
*Bzzzt*
The second eye opened.
"I am the Mad Saint."
*Bzzzt*
The third eye appeared.
"I am the Mad Demon!"
*Bzzzt*
The fourth eye appeared and a huge pressure descended on the entire city. He started circulating Qi from all three meridians at full power. Right now he was at the top of Origin Realm stage 4. One by one the pressure increased as the black haze was pushed backward.
Black lightning covered his entire right arm as he looked at the man with gritted teeth.
The two hooded figures were bewildered. Wasn't he just supposed to cause a distraction and let them enter? Why the hell was he so angry all of a sudden?!?
Fel's countenance changed instantly. He extended his hand and a black staff appeared with white marks on it. He held it in front of him and a barrier surrounded him completely.
Hao Xuan got even angrier looking at him. He jumped off of Bai's back and brought the glaive straight down on the barrier.
*BOOOOOOM*
The entire area around them exploded. The civilians were pushed back more than 50 meters.
The taller hooded figure looked at the other, "Well f*ck. That didn't go according to plan. Should we attack?"
The other one shook his head, "Let's wait and see if that Fel guy is worth us joining the battle for."
But they got their answer sooner than expected. The dust settled and everyone could see the aftermath. The entire gate was blown to bits. Hao Xuan was standing in front of the barrier with two black spikes coming out his back.
*Cough*Cough*
Hao Xuan moved several steps back and spat out mouthfuls of blood, while Fel's barrier was scratchless.
"A mere origin realm brat? If you had done a surprise attack then maybe there would've been a chance but not now. Might as well, let me play with you for a little bit," he smiled and slammed the staff down. The black energy from the surroundings started moving towards the castle in droves.
"Alright, now we can go," the shorter hooded figure sighed and waved his hand. A gigantic scythe appeared which was taller than himself.
"He looks like a sorcerer, try to separate him from the staff," he said to the other and disappeared from the spot.
Hao Xuan looked at Fel and couldn't help but feel powerless. "Should've used the best technique I had," but it was too late now.
"Hahaha, soon my baby will be finished and then I can finally leave this barren place," Fel grinned and lifted the staff once again.
*Swoosh*
But before he could do anything else, a scythe appeared out of thin air and ripped apart his barrier like paper and cut off his arm.
"AHHH, WHO?!" he jumped back and looked around him cautiously. A figure walked up from behind Hao Xuan and took off his hood. It was a muscular man with a greatsword in his hand. He looked to be about 25-26 years old at most with small scars all over him.
"Little sorcerer, the Kingdom of Mei is not somewhere you can run free like this. You will pay for every single soul that was hurt by your hands," he smiled.
Fel's expression turned serious as he turned around and fled towards the castle without a second of hesitation, "The scythe was not his. There is another hiding in the shadows. And they know I'm a sorcerer?" he mumbled.
The muscular man turned around and looked at Hao Xuan sympathetically, "You okay?"
Hao Xuan was still burning with the urge to fight and the injuries weren't serious to someone like him at all, "Yeah, its nothing."
"Great. My name is Harp, my friend is Silex. We'll go fight the sorcerer and you take care of any other enemies. Good?" he patted Hao Xuan's shoulder.
"Sure," Hao Xuan simply nodded his head and followed him into the castle.
