Chapter 241: Wu Clan
Chapter 241: Wu Clan
"I want to repay the favor."
Bo felt a pressure emanating from Hao Xuan's body that he had never felt before in his entire life. It was like a hammer, constantly pounding on his brain. It was pressure of the soul.
Through his soul connection, he could vaguely feel whatever Hao Xuan was feeling. Only in situations like this where his emotions were out of control did it get so bad.
Under normal circumstances, it was nothing more than an imprecise feeling that would come and go.
He instantly got down on his knees and prostrated in front of Hao Xuan, "They should be here soon master, very soon."
Upon hearing his quivering voice Hao Xuan turned around and looked down at him. His eyes glinted with ferocity as he couldn't help but extend out his hand towards Bo.
His palm lit up with a red hue and a word flashed before his eyes, "Shatter!"
Something deep inside him wanted him to just speak the word out loud once, just to see what would happen. It was telling him to feel the euphoria it would bring, the pleasure, the sense of power it would bestow upon him by taking everything from someone else.
Bo couldn't stop his body from shaking like a leaf in a storm.
His forehead was touching the ground but he could still "feel" Hao Xuan's glare. It overpowered any kind of resistance he could put up. Right now he was completely at Hao Xuan's mercy, there was no question about it.
"Master....please..." he mumbled while closing his eyes.
He could feel an impending sense of doom.
The gate on the left side in Hao Xuan's mind palace that was chained shut, slightly shook.
The rattling of the chains woke up everyone in the mind palace including Zhurong, Black, White, and Ensis.
Ensis's pupils contracted to the size of a needle hole. he moved back several steps, holding onto the hilt of his black sword.
A wisp of red energy leaked out of the gate and swirled around in the air before dissipating into nothingness.
"Hmm, not yet," Hao Xuan mumbled upon sensing the new energy in his mind palace, "Not just yet."
"I'm not that weak-willed."
He turned around and walked out of the structure.
"Get up. Don't disappoint me, beast."
His voice echoed in Bo's ears.
"Yes....yes...master," Bo slammed his forehead onto the floor while kowtowing, leaving a few centimeter deep dent in its place. His back caked with sweat.
Hao Xuan made his way up to the top of the tree. There were beast body parts scattered all along the way.
Du Xun and the gnome were nowhere in sight, but he could still hear the explosions that resulted from their fight from a few kilometers away.
Whenever the two profound level opponents clashed with one another the massive tree shook from the shockwaves.
Kuo and the others were in charge of gathering any information left behind in this place so Hao Xuan walked back down where First was waiting from him.
"Brother, are Third and Fourth brother going to be okay?" he asked with a concerned expression.
First was staring up at the sky with narrowed eyes.
"Third will be fine in a few weeks. Fourth....it's hard to say. They are still checking him," he replied somberly.
Hao Xuan's expression turned even colder. If even First was taking it this seriously then things really were bad.
"Should we go back then? The raid is complete and we killed everyone other than the gnome."
First shook his head, "No, it's too late to leave. They are here."
"They?" Hao Xuan followed his line of sight and looked up as well but could see nothing in the darkness of the night. Right now his eyesight was good enough to see several miles away.
But no matter how hard he tried, there was nothing in sight. Just as he was about to inquire further, a blue dot appeared in the sky.
"Is that..."
Hao Xuan moved a few steps forward while squinting hard and finally saw the 'dots' actual appearance.
It was a chariot! A massive black chariot was shooting towards them at an incredible speed.
Its eight wheels, that looked like they were made of fire, left a burning streak in the night sky, while the four winged-horses at its front neighed loudly while pulling it with all their might.
Every second it covered the distance of several kilometers.
"Holy sh*t...."
Even Hao Xuan was left speechless at the astonishing grandeur of the Wu clan's arrival.
He tightened his grasp on the glaive while circulating all energies at full force.
First finally stepped forward and stood in front of Hao Xuan.
"Stay back for this fight Ninth brother."
"Eh? But-" Hao Xuan wanted to interject but his mouth fell open before he could.
First floated up off the ground and flew straight up into the air, standing in the path of the incoming chariot.
*Woosh* x2
Hao Xuan felt two gusts of wind from behind and saw another 2 figures float up into the air and stand beside First.
"What the actual f*ck....."
It was Lu Jian and the mindreader Su Zemin.
"They're all Profound Realm cultivators? Even First brother? When did he breakthrough?"
Hao Xuan mumbled absentmindedly.
Lu Jian waved his hand a machete appeared in his grasp, while Su Zemin held a whip. It had strange markings on it and looked like it was made from some kind of a bone.
The Chariot slowly came to halt in front of the trio that were blocking its path.
Kuo and the others had already finished their business and were standing behind Hao Xuan with wide eyes as well.
For a moment it was so silent that one could hear a pin drop.
After about 15 seconds or so First moved one step forward and spoke up in a calm voice.
"Would the Wu Clan member give us the honor of making their acquaintance?"
*Click*
The chariot door slowly opened and two figures stepped out.
