Chapter 587: Momentum
Chapter 587: Momentum
Hao Xuan's appearance was far too sudden for either party to react to. By the time they realized what was happening he had already landed in the middle of several undead creatures.
There were less than 30 seconds left before the nanotech would lose power so he decided to make use of every single moment before that.
Between him and the guards were close to five creatures, facing away from him.
Without saying a single word to the guards, he focused his complete attention on the enemies around him. It was already too late to pull out and look for another group so he needed to prove his worth to these guys so they would protect him in his moment of weakness that was just a few moments away.
Although he really disliked the idea of depending on others for support, for the time being there was no better option.
Diverting a majority of the power to the sensory organs Hao Xuan swung the glaive left and right like a madman. And with its stupendously long-range and heavy weight, even an indirect attack could prove to be deadly.
Time came to a slow crawl in front Hao Xuan's eyes. He became sharper, more aware of every little detail around him. He could feel the slightest change in the air and know what was happening in the near surroundings without even looking.
*WHOOSH*
The first swing went from the right to left at an angle of 75 degrees, generating its own soundwave. It hit a creature in the chest, sending it reeling into two others behind it.
Using that momentum Hao Xuan spun around and executed the second swing with an even stronger force. It went in a semi-circle around him and hit the two other creatures that were closing in from behind.
*WHOOOSH*
The third strike was a straight vertical one that sent a creature straight up into the air. The glaives momentum was enough to drag Hao Xuan right behind it.
He reached a height of eight meters before starting to plummet back down.
Hao Xuan spun in the air like a top more than 40 times and executed the final move, redirecting all that built up energy directly onto the ground before below. And just to add that little personal touch, he diverted all the nanotech to his upper body, expanding his arms to three times their original size and inserting every iota of power into the glaive.
He was moving so fast that Glaive turned red from the friction, letting out a shrill noise while cutting through the air. Hao Xuan greatly overexerted his muscles and couldn't help but let out a painful roar.
"AHHH!"
At this point, a religious man would ask God to have mercy on the poor souls that would be caught in that attack because Hao Xuan was not intending to give any.
The glaive came down like a bolt of heavenly lightning, just without the thunder to announce its arrival. That would come after...
*BOOOOOOM*
The entire pit shook and the area in front of him exploded with pure force. No Qi, no special attack, just pure unadulterated brute force pulverized the ground and tore the earth to shreds.
From start to finish the glaive didn't stop for even an instant, building up the momentum with every strike and making each subsequent one that much more powerful. And he was doing all of this subconsciously, without utilizing any Qi.
What started out as a handicap at first turned out to be a stroke of great luck because although Hao Xuan was not aware of this right now, he had just touched upon the boundary of the first realm of the Dao of the Glaive, Resonance.
Although having the same names, the requirements for each weapon Dao realm were different. They required their own understanding to form a connection with the weapon.
And Hao Xuan has just discovered his. So long as he continued moving forward, each strike would be more powerful than the one before and would keep building up that momentum for one final attack that would be exponentially stronger than anything he could execute by himself.
His advancement in the Weapon Dao had greatly increased the awaking process of the weapon spirit currently slumbering within the glaive.
All of this took some time to explain but from start to finish, it hadn't even taken 30 seconds.
The attack destroyed the undead creature's formation, turning more than ten of them to meat-paste.
The human side that desperately needed a break looked towards Hao Xuan with dumbfounded expressions. The ones closest to him fell on their backs from the shockwaves.
There was one person in particular among them that had kept an eye on Hao Xuan from the moment he first arrived. It was a bald-headed slender man in his late twenties. He wore giant beads around his neck that numbered seven in total and a simple grey robe.
He was surrounded by a dim golden light that was covering four men in front of him, healing their injuries.
"Bring him to me, quickly!" he shouted.
