But his praises only worked to confuse the grand priestess.

"Mind Palace? Emperor realm? What do these terms mean?"

"Oh, I completely forgot you're not from the main world. That is the cultivation method most humans use, it's a little different than yours but my point still stand- Wait, how can you speak the language of the main worlds without even knowing the most basic things?"

Jin Wang only now realized that she was speaking in the Beast World's language.

The grand priestess took another deep puff, "Every priestess must learn the ancient language of our ancestors. My great-granddaughter knows it too. Although I am afraid she will be the last one to do so."

Jin Wang chuckled half-heartedly, "Yup, sounds like it really is his doing then," and took a seat next to her.

"So I'm guessing you can see into people's minds right? Most shamans like you have a way to do that."

The grand priestess nodded as a matter of factly, "I can. If they open themselves up then I can see everything that's within their hearts."

"Is it a spell?"

"No, an innate ability of my 'soul lake'," she said referring to her Mind Palace, "Put your feet into the water and open your mind. Whatever you think about will be shown on its surface."

Jin Wang did as she instructed and took off his shoes before dipping his feet into the milky water. He thought it would feel cold but it didn't have a temperature. And if he wasn't aware of it he wouldn't think anything was there to begin with.

Although it did make him feel a lot more relaxed than he should have been.

Not long after his mind started to wander even without meaning to and memories from the past started to reveal themselves.

The lake's surface turned from a milky white to a vibrant green, showing a chubby little boy 4-5 years old running around in a woodland area that was littered with tiny strange creatures.

Jin Wang's brow furrowed deeply, "I didn't mean to show that."

The grand priestess smirked, "One cannot control their heart. The lake reflects your deepest and most important memories. You can only point in a direction and hope for the best, although it helps if you think about a specific event or person. But if you want to stop then just take your feet out of the water."

Even though she said that her gaze was still locked onto the lake's surface, not wanting to miss a single thing.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to see some of them. Even if I had completely forgotten they even existed in the first place."

The boy was chasing after a small beetle that left a rainbow-colored stream in its wake as it flew around. The cloudy almond-colored sky overhead didn't have any celestial bodies but it still shone just as bright.

Humungous silhouettes of various beasts could occasionally be seen flying inside it.

"Is that you?" the grand priestess inquired, referring to the young boy.

Jin Wang nodded, "Yes. That was my first life. I never thought I would be able to see it again, even if it's just a memory."

The grand priestess had a couple of more follow-up questions like what he meant by 'first life' but before she could speak up again the scene took a turn for the worst.

The cloudy sky started changing colors, shifting to streaks of white, black, red, and yellow in most places before finally, the clouds parted and an Azure Roc fell down. It was big enough to cover entire cities with just one of its wings yet right now half of its upper body was gone.

After the Roc several other gargantuan creatures fell through. A horned white whale with a halo of white light above its body was the next one. Jin Wang straightened his back trying to see it more clearly.

He couldn't hide his excitement seeing them again.

"My God, I haven't seen those in so long. Those beasts were referred to as the "Unsullied World Bearers". It was a species of divine creatures that hauled entire solar systems behind them as if they were nothing. To them, weight was a construct that did not exist and because of it, there was-" halfway through he realized the weird look he was getting, "Sorry, I got a little carried with the explanation."

After that came a few half-dragons, a Thunder Lynx and even a phoenix, just to name a few. The grand priestess had obviously never seen such creatures and was amazed by every single one of them.

The young Jin Wang sat on the soft grass while watching the rain of half-eaten mythical beasts. A moment later two women dressed in the same garments ran up behind him and carried him off, ending the scene.
