Chapter 950: Summoning the Palace
Chapter 950: Summoning the Palace
The entire colosseum could feel the effects of Stasa's Ice Law.
Even the air outside of the cyclone was affected by it. The temperature continued to fall until inch-long ice shards were being thrown about in all directions.
Dai Zhi reacted swiftly and strengthened the barriers around the battlegrounds using his own Qi but the ceaseless battering of ice and raw energy was draining the barriers far too quickly.
This was equivalent of trying to contain two territories of people at the same level as him and it wasn't easy.
Normally he would never even dream of doing it alone but by using the treasure palace's own defenses and native energy gathering arrays, he could offset the extra load onto them.
All the barriers doubled in power, buzzing lightly due to the excess spiritual energy.
Dai Zhi pretended to be calm on the outside but inwardly he was so surprised to no end. Not even in a hundred years would he have thought that Stasa to have reached such a level. He looked towards the sky which was being cut apart.
Xue Meng, Tian Zheng and all the other protectors were just as shocked. They could all feel the unbridled power coursing overhead. It felt like the head of a hammer was hanging over their heads, ready to drop at a moment's notice.
And instead of slowing down it was getting stronger with every passing second. Stasa might have started the Cyclone using his law but now it was self-efficient enough to keep going by itself.
Whereas all the spiritual energy Stasa was pouring out was being materialized in the shame of a 180 meter long and 40-meter wide ice sword.
Dima was the first one to voice his concerns.
"Is that really safe? Will the treasure palace hold if it was struck by something of that caliber?"
Dai Zhi still keeping up appearances acted like it was no big deal.
"Of course, there won't be a problem. This much is nothing."
But most of the protectors knew that wasn't the case. This was the ultimate move of a peak stage Spirit Realm cultivator, able to annihilate even Profound Realm experts if they weren't careful enough. How could it pose no problem at all?
Dai Zhi would have to at the very least dip into the spiritual energy reserves of the palace to keep it from breaking apart from inside out.
And this was without taking into account Hao Xuan's law.
The palms of Hao Xuan's hands were burning with a red flame that was being poured into the glaive, lighting it up amidst the sea of blue in the surroundings.
Hao Xuan looked around and saw the condition of the colosseum. He smiled inwardly, this was a part of his plan. Previously Dai Zhi had meddled in the fight more than a few times by obstructing Hao Xuan one way or another. But now he couldn't do that because all his energy was directed towards keeping the damage contained.
The downside of this was that now Hao Xuan would have to deal with this move all by himself. In every other iteration he had attacked Stasa before the move was brought to completion. Not once was the ice blade formed all the way.
Hao Xuan tried to find Stasa within the cyclone but the copious amount of spiritual energy and other particles were obstructing his senses. He was hidden in the ice and snow readying himself.
But the situation wasn't completely hopeless for Hao Xuan either. Although Stasa couldn't be disrupted, he could still prepare for it to the best of his abilities.
Hao Xuan initiated the Chaos Law to its maximum capacity. The territory spread out in a circle and expanded from 15 meters to 20. The last meter or so near the outer boundary was so hazy and irregular that it couldn't be counted on but within the rest of the territory, he was in complete control.
This was his own little piece of land inside Stasa's territory. In here, he was God.
Not a single ice shard could get to him here but the ice blade within the sky was a different story. It couldn't be stopped just by the Chaos Law, although it could be disturbed.
*CrrrrrEEEEEEEEeeeee*
A loud fluctuating noise that sounded like a mix of steel bending and ice breaking came from the sky grabbing his attention. Looking up Hao Xuan could see something else alongside the sword. His eyes almost popped out from the revelation.
There were eight tendrils separating from the main cyclone body and taking a shape of their own. Each one had a beastly appearance, like that of an ancient serpent.
Each serpent had a shining blue sword coming out of its mouth and they were all in the process of coming down right on top of him. And on each sword there were various numbers and glyphs marking them from 1-8.
One look was enough to tell Hao Xuan that they were Stasa's Mind Palace. A heavy pressure fell on the entire colosseum. Even the ones outside the battlegrounds could feel its burden weighing them down.
"Hoh, interesting," the Abysswalker mumbled while leaning forward.
