Chapter 309:
Chapter 309:
for them to be able to endure.
This was especially true for Lumia and Melika. They were already panicking from the idea of Sara’s arrival and intention to move in. Then, after learning that Airi is actually also the Dragon Demon of the Six Great Demon Lords, they nearly fainted on the spot.
“S-so I was actually living under the same roof as the Dragon Demon…”
“I-I actually even bathed together with the Dragon Demon…”
Those two girls were nearly unable to withstand such a stimulating revelation, so they looked like they were on the verge of breaking apart.
Given that, making them stay around in the meeting really was just way too harsh for them.
Therefore, Vivian and Diere took those two girls and left.
The girls were all living in one of the side houses. They were set a certain distance from the main mansion, which is around ten minutes away while walking normally, which can be considered rather far as it goes.
If not for that, a group of girls of marriageable age staying in the home of a man in his vigorous years will certainly end up generating a certain amount of rumors.
Right now, the only ones living in the main mansion was Shien and Airi.
However, it wasn’t just Shien and Airi hosting Sara’s group.
“Your tea.”
Lasha appeared out of nowhere and delivered the tea. She continuously placed one teacup after another before everyone there with a completely calm expression.
However, Sara was staring intently at Lasha the entire time. Her gaze never wavered from Lasha since the moment she appeared.
Behind Sara, Jacinta was similarly staring at Lasha with a stiff expression on his face. It was as if he was seeing something unbelievable.
Jace and Lieze on the other hand just looked completely confused. They glanced at each other like they had no idea just what was going on.
Seeing the demons acting the way they are now, Shien still remembered that their expressions were quite easy going back at the very start.
However, after Lasha appeared, Sara and Jacinta’s had started showing some intriguing reactions.
When Sara saw Lasha, her expression suddenly changed and her breathing greatly sped up.
Jacinta was even worse off. When Lasha showed up, his entire body shook and nearly ended up screaming out in shock.
Lasha on the other hand not only showed no sign of fear when faced with the sovereign of the demon race and a demon commander, she even continued to provide service from the side with calmness and perfect poise the entire time.
This gave Shien quite a few questions. Airi was utterly silent, not saying a word.
Right now, Shien and Sara were sitting facing each other. Airi was also sitting to the side. Jacinta’s group however were standing behind Sara, allowing Lasha to quietly return to Shien’s side after she was done serving up the tea.
Only then did Sara finally barely manage to withdraw her gaze.
“You seem to have quite a special maid, Lord Bayztrot.”
Sara seemed to have come up with some unknown thoughts and, after taking a deep breath, she said something like that.
Shien raised an eyebrow, glanced over to the still placid looking Lasha at his side, and then turned back to Sara.
“Lady Moon Demon really does seem to like your jokes.” Shien smiled without it reaching his eyes, “This isn’t my maid. I don’t believe that the sovereign of the demon world would be ignorant to that extent, after all.”
Sara just smiled at that without admitting to it.
Of course she knew that this maid wasn’t actually Shien’s.
“If I’m not remembering it wrong, she should be the maid of that Old Demon Faction girl named Leisha, right?”
The words from Sara’s mouth proved that she did indeed control information to that respect.
“It’s former Old Demon Faction, you know?”
Shien replied without actually answering the real question.
“Where is this former member of the Old Demon Faction now then?” Sara asked with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, “For her to actually leave her important maid with lord Bayztrot here, that former Old Demon Faction member must have quite a good relationship with you, no?”
“That, I’m afraid, is your misunderstanding.” Shien shook his head and spoke like he had other things on his mind, “I just encountered her a couple of times, that all. Would Lady Sara believe me if I said something like that?”
“Encountered her a couple of times you say?” Sara spoke pointedly, “Would someone who only encountered you a couple of times really hand over her important maid to serve you?”
“Who knows?” Shien shrugged while speaking somewhat solemnly, “Maybe she thought I was handsome and trustworthy, and that was why she did what she did. Who can say after all.”
“Pff.” Sara couldn’t help the laugh that erupted out of her mouth, “You really do know how to joke around, Lord Bayztrot.”
“…” Shien’s face twitched a few times as he got the urge to hit her.
Although he did indeed purposefully say it in a lighthearted manner, he was still really unhappy at the response that he got.
He was calling himself handsome after all, and the result was Sara then laughing and calling it a joke?
Wasn’t that basically the same as trying to call him ugly?
If not for the fact that he knew that there was no way that he could run, Shien really would have wanted to give her a slap.
Of course, that slap would definitely not be swung at her face.
If the other party was a man, then Shien would obviously be slapping him in the face, but if was a voluptuous beauty, then it has to be aimed at her butt instead.
Don’t go asking why now. Only an idiot would ask that.
Thus, Shien held himself back from rolling his eyes at her with all his might and finally moved on to the main issue.
“Say now, Lady Moon Demon, given all your responsibilities, you must be quite the busy person. So you wouldn’t really be thinking about staying here at my place, right?”
Shien bluntly said it out loud.
“What? Is there any issues with that?”
Sara lightly raised an eyebrow and asked him without so much as a twitch.
“Do you not think that there’s any issues with that?” Shien looked straight at Sara and spoke in a deeply meaningful tone, “In that case, would you dare to swear an oath in the name of the Demon King Claudis that you’re really doing all of this just because you want to stay wit your little sister? That you’re really doing all of this for your sister?”
That one question made Sara’s smile freeze on her face.
“You…”
Jacinta also visibly reacted. He was about to get up and say something, but he was forced back by a fierce glare from Airi.
“That’s what he’s saying, big sis Sara.” Airi also calmly joined in, “So what do you plan on doing then?”
What to do?
Does that even need to be said?
There was no way that Sara could possibly do something like swear in the name of the Demon King.
After all, if she were to violate her oath, then that’s the same as smearing mud on the face of the king she had once followed.
As the Demon King’s closest confident and most relied upon Demon Lord back when the Demon King was still alive, how could Sara possibly do something that smeared mud on the Demon King’s face?
Therefore…
“Should I say, as expected of someone chosen by the gods?’ Sara’s expression finally turned sarcastic as she spoke, “Bringing out the Demon King whom we loved and respected like that. Is it fun for you?”
Some people were able to understand the meaning behind Sara’s words just now, and some weren’t.
At the very least, Jacita’s group didn’t know what “someone chosen by the gods” really meant.
However, everyone who knew of Shien’s true identity did know what Sara meant.
Either way, Shien was thinking ‘as expected’ in his mind.
(It loos like this Moon Demon really has seen through my identity then…)
This proves that the advice that Lucy tried to give Shien were spot on.
Sara wasn’t here just for Airi. She was also here for Shien.
After understanding this point, Shien instead relaxed.
Since it’s already been exposed, what else can he do about it?
He’s already done everything that he should have. If the result is that he was still exposed, then that can only mean that it was fated to happen.
In that case then, even if Sara were to declare war against the gods and mortals because of it and thus restart a war between the three races after a thousand years, it doesn’t have anything to do with Shein anymore.
Shien had already done all that he can be expected to, so there’s no need for him to fret over this matter anymore.
In the end, he still isn’t a person of this world, so even if the world was to be engulfed by the flames of war, he still won’t have anything to say about it.
Therefore…
“I just want to let Lady Sara know that I’m not someone with such a good temperament, alright?” Shien spoke with a grin, “I don’t know how exactly Lady Sara sees my existence, or if you think there’s some kind of scheme behind me knowing you sister, but I actually really dislike being dragged onto the front stage of politics. Especially when it’s the grand stage relating to the peace between the three races.”
Shien’s unspoken intent was quite obvious. He was telling Sara that he didn’t plan on doing anything special, but he also hopes that no one will disturb his own life for the sake of their own suspicions.
Otherwise…
“If I really do get impulsive, the demon race would also have a hard time, no?”
Shien’s words were lacking in any hint of politeness with the sheer bluntness he was displaying.
This made Jacinta, Jace, and Leice start looking at him coldly.
It’s because Shien’s words just now were already no different from a threat.
On the other hand, Airi still hasn’t said a thing in regards to it. She simply sat there emotionlessly.
Lasha herself simply lowered her own presence while keeping a calm expression.
Sara on the other hand didn’t expect Shien to say something like that at all, so she took a deep look at him.
She didn’t think that Shien’s words just now were all that overconfident of him.
After all, Sara has special eyes, and she had indeed already completely seen through the true identity of the Holy Sword at Shien’s waist.
Unfortunately for her, Sara was unable to see through the full capabilities of Shien’s Holy Sword.
However, just the portion that Sara was able to see through was already powerful enough to make her react with alarm.
Therefore, Sara could say definitively that while the current Shien might not be a match for the Demon Lords, he already had the ability to threaten them to a degree.
The current him is still far from grown, far from his limits. His future capability was terrifying to a degree that Sara felt her heart skip a beat just thinking about it.
Add in the fact that Shien is a Hero, so he must have a very powerful unique skill. Therefore, Sara by no means believe that Shien’s threat level is all that low.
It’s because Sara was similarly unable to see through that unique skill.
Of course, Sara was also unable to see through Shien’s blessing.
If it was anyone else, so long as they weren’t too special, then Sara was very much capable of seeing through their unique and special skills.
It goes to show that the power of Sara’s eyes of wisdom were far above what anyone could have imagined.
Yet, even so, Sara wasz still unable to fully see through Shien’s Holy Sword, blessing, or the effects of his blessing. Thus, it’s no wonder that she couldn’t resist the urge to stay around and further observe him.
(Given the current state of being, why did such a powerful Hero appear?)
