Chapter 655 - The Truth of the Ancient Times
Chapter 655 The Truth of the Ancient Times
This white tiger was much bigger than the ordinary ones. It was so white that they even thought that it was transparent. It was six or seven meters long and had a ferocious look.
“Why is there a tiger here?”
Qin Haodong pulled Li Jiumei and pushed her behind him without any second thoughts.
“Ow… Ow… Ow…”
The big white tiger let out a roar and then it leapt forward and rushed at them with the speed of lightning. It was not only big, but also extremely fast.
“Kill you!”
Qin Haodong shouted and stabbed the white tiger with his Xuan Yuan Sword.
“Ding…”
They heard the sound of gold and iron clanging when the Xuan Yuan Sword touched the head of the tiger. But the tiger stood there unharmed, while Qin Haodong’s hands went numb with the impact of the force.
He was shocked. Could it be that this white tiger had already become immortal? Why was its body even harder than the iron?
But suddenly the tiger pounced on Li Jiumei, who was standing next to him.
It was so fast that Li Jiumei could not even dodge with her low cultivation. Qin Haodong was shocked and tried to stab the tiger on its side with his Xuan Yuan Sword.
“Ding…”
The Xuan Yuan Sword was sent flying once again, while the white tiger pounced on Li Jiumei without any mercy. Its bloody mouth was right above her face.
“Bastard, how dare you!”
Qin Haodong glared at it with great anger and shouted. He directly ignored the Xuan Yuan Sword and kicked at the white tiger’s head using his Thief’s Legs move.
He tried his best to save Li Jiumei, but to his surprise, he completely missed and the tiger suddenly disappeared into thin air.
Qin Haodong stopped and looked back. But the tiger was indeed gone and there was only a knife floating in front of Li Jiumei.
It was about five feet in length and its handle was about one foot long. It was covered with spiral patterns, which looked like tiger tails. The hand-guard looked just like a tiger’s paw.
The blade, which was about four feet long, looked transparent and it was in the shape of a thorn.
“What’s this?”
Although he did not know why a tiger suddenly turned into a knife, Qin Haodong could feel the huge pressure given off by it, which was no less than that of the Xuan Yuan Sword.
But suddenly Li Jiumei recognized it and exclaimed, “It’s the Tiger Soul Knife! The Knife of Chiyou!”
Qin Haodong also realized what had happened. No wonder the white tiger was as hard as the iron. It was the personification of the amber knife.
It was said that the Tiger Soul Knife was the weapon belonging to Chiyou when he was fighting against the Yellow Emperor. With the help of the Fairy of the Nine Heavens, the Yellow Emperor defeated Chiyou. So he fed the extraterrestrial meteorite to the tiger, which was his mount and let them merge together into a divine weapon, which was called the Tiger Soul Knife.
Qin Haodong did not expect that he could see this magic weapon. He tried to grab it, but the knife slid to the side as if it was a living thing and Qin missed it.
He suddenly realized something and said to Li Jiumei, “This is the holy object belonging to your tribe. Try and see if you can catch it.”
Li Jiumei nodded and reached out slowly for the Tiger Soul Knife. This time the knife did not move. It stayed there as if it was waiting for its master.
When she touched the hilt of the knife, Li Jiumei immediately felt the great power contained in it. It had a murderous vibe like a tiger which was about to eat people alive.
Qin Haodong said, “I got it. Chiyou left the Tiger Soul Knife here to guard the temple and it stopped attacking us the moment it discovered that you’re the descendant of the Jiuli tribe. If it were an outsider, he would definitely have been killed.”
“Thank you, Master Chiyou!”
Li Jiumei knelt down again and kowtowed to the statue.
Qin Haodong said, “Try and see if you can become the master of the Tiger Soul Knife.”
Then he explained how to make the weapon recognize her as the master. Li Jiumei followed his order, pierced her index finger and dripped a drop of blood on the knife.
The drop of blood soon disappeared as if it was being absorbed by a sponge. Then the blade of the Tiger Soul Knife quivered and suddenly disappeared into Li Jiumei’s body.
They were both delighted to have obtained the Tiger Soul Knife, which was a great ancient weapon. It had not been a waste of time to come here, after all.
But suddenly a huge figure appeared in front of the Divine Hall. It looked exactly the same as the statue and it must be the ancient god of war himself.
Although it was just a remnant of Chiyou, Qin Haodong could still feel his great power and his domineering momentum. Chiyou must have been invincible when he was still alive.
Li Jiumei did not expect that the God they believed in would suddenly appear in front of them. She was stunned at first and then she knelt on the ground with a thud, saying, “Li Jiumei of the Jiuli Tribe pays her respects to Master Chiyou!”
“Qin Haodong also pays his respect to you, Master Chiyou.”
Chiyou glanced at Li Jiumei and Qin Haodong and they heard a vigorous voice in their minds, “Get up, my children!”
Li Jiumei stood up slowly and looked at Chiyou with great respect.
Chiyou turned to Qin Haodong and asked, “I can feel the aura of the Xuan Yuan Sword. Little guy, are you the descendant of the Yellow Emperor?”
There was no doubt that all the Huaxia people were descendants of the Yellow Emperor, but it was said that Chiyou was killed by the Yellow Emperor and they were mortal enemies. So Qin Haodong was quite nervous and was not sure whether the spiritual sense would be irritated by this fact.
He said with great caution, “I’m the descendant of the Yellow Emperor and I got the Xuan Yuan Sword by accident.”
But to his surprise, Chiyou was not dissatisfied at all. He nodded instead and said approvingly, “You’re really an extraordinary young man since you can unlock the seal of the Xuan Yuan Sword.”
An idea suddenly struck him and Qin Haodong asked, “Master Chiyou, you knew that the Xuan Yuan Sword was sealed. Was it you who sealed it?”
Chiyou shook his head and said, “Why would I seal the Xuan Yuan Sword? It was the Alien Demons.”
“Alien Demon? What’s that?”
Qin Haodong was surprised because he had never heard of anything like the Alien Demon existing in ancient times.
“Just forget it and I’ll tell you the truth later!”
Chiyou said, “You two little guys, tell me, what did they say about me and the Yellow Emperor?”
Qin Haodong did not know why he asked, so he told him everything about them, including the legend of the Yellow Emperor’s battle with him. He also described how the Yellow Emperor cut Chiyou’s head off with the Xuan Yuan Sword and split his body and head into two different places.
After hearing the stories, Chiyou sighed and said, “It’s just like what I had expected. Our descendants were truly fooled by the Alien Demon.”
Qin Haodong asked in confusion, “Is there anything wrong with the legend? Were you not killed by the Yellow Emperor?”
“No. You’re totally wrong about it,” said Chiyou. “I worked with the Yellow Emperor to fight against the Alien Demon, how could he kill me?”
Qin Haodong suddenly understood why Chiyou was not mad at him when he heard that he was the descendant of the Yellow Emperor. Instead, Chiyou was quite kind to him. It turned out that they were not enemies at all.
But what had happened? Where did the Alien Demon come from and where were they now? Qin Haodong had numerous questions to ask.
Li Jiumei also felt the same way as Qin. The Jiuli Tribe had always believed that the Yellow Emperor had killed their ancestor Chiyou, which was the reason why he had always been regarded as their great enemy. She did not expect that what they had believed in were totally wrong.
Qin Haodong asked, “So, Master Chiyou, what happened?”
Chiyou explained, “The Yellow Emperor and I each led a tribe and there were no big conflicts between us, even though we were not friends.
“There were indeed some conflicts between our two tribes, but we’re definitely not mortal enemies. There was no need to start a war and the so called War of Zhuo Lu was totally nonsense.”
“At first, we lived our own lives separately and did not have much interactions. But suddenly one day the space of this world was torn apart by the Alien Demon.”
Li Jiumei asked, “What exactly are the Alien Demons?”
Chiyou explained, “They’re creatures living in another world. Somehow they broke the barriers between two spaces and came to our land.”
“These Alien Demons were savage and fierce. Although there were not many of them, they burned our houses, robbed and killed our people. They even tried to kill all of us in order to occupy our land.”
“In the face of the invasion of these outsiders, Yellow Emperor and I immediately took action and joined forces to fight against them. We finally repaired the space gap after making a tremendous effort.”
“After that, we needed to fight against the Alien Demons that had time-traveled here. We wanted to eradicate those outsiders and save our people.”
“But they wanted to kill us, re-open the space hole and let all their clansmen in here.”
“So we became mortal enemies and only one of us could stay here and remain alive.”
“Their leader was called the Alien Demon Emperor. It was nearly as strong as myself and the Yellow Emperor, but we had lost much energy during the process of repairing and could not recover in a short time. But we did not give up saving our people.”
“The Yellow Emperor and I worked together to fight against the Alien Demon Emperor. The Yellow Emperor risked his life to severely injure the demon but he was also killed by it. At the same time, the Xuan Yuan Sword was sealed.”
Qin Haodong suddenly understood why the power floating around the sword was so strange and he had never seen it before. It turned out that the seal was left by the Alien Demon Emperor and belonged to a completely different space.
Chiyou continued, “Alien Demon Emperor was strong and cunning. He knew that the Alien Demons alone could not compete with human beings, so he used a sinister scheme to sow discord.”
“After killing the Yellow Emperor, the demon king changed his appearance to look like him to fight with me. So the other people misunderstood and thought that we were enemies. This was the root of all those legends.”
Li Jiumei asked, “Then what happened? Did the Alien Demon Emperor die?”
