Chapter 2621: Facing the Ouroboros
Chapter 2621: Facing the Ouroboros
Cain’s eyes sharpened as his soul force, combined with the power of the [A.I. Chip Module], flooded the entire realm in search of the dimension’s core.
The Ouroboros Cult had once been an unimaginably powerful organization. Their mastery over formations was evident from the mere existence of this realm. To forge a dimension of such magnitude and stability, one capable of enduring for countless years even after the destruction of its creators, required attainments that bordered on the miraculous.
Yet Cain remained confident.
His soul force had already reached the Alpha-Omega Overgod Rank. His willpower stood at the Half-Step Fourth Realm, while the [A.I. Chip Module] itself was on the verge of evolving into a Fourth Realm phenomenon.
He would succeed.
It did not take long for Cain’s eyes to narrow.
He found it.
A strange orb rested at the very center of the realm, hidden deep beneath the citadel itself. Endless streams of runes revolved around it like galaxies orbiting a primordial sun.
A flash of awe appeared in Cain’s eyes as he analyzed the orb and comprehended the profundity of the principles governing it.
“It is not merely the controller of the dimension’s laws…”
Cain’s voice turned solemn.
“It is the heart of the dimension itself. The very thing allowing this realm to exist separately from the universe.”
His gaze intensified.
“I suppose the Coffin of Life and Death was not the only treasure the Ouroboros Cult obtained from the Emptiness.”
The realization made Cain far more cautious.
Treasures connected to the Emptiness were never simple. They existed beyond ordinary cosmic laws and often carried terrifying mysteries capable of shaking entire universes.
Still, hesitation only lasted for a moment.
Cain pushed forward, guiding the power of his soul and will through the [A.I. Chip Module] as he reached toward the core.
“There are several layers I must pierce before I can reach the center and seize control.”
Cain nodded to himself and focused entirely on the task.
The moment his consciousness pierced through the first layer of protection, the entire realm trembled violently.
Ancient formations hidden throughout the dimension immediately awakened. Massive runic arrays lit up across the ruined citadel, releasing waves of oppressive power that shook sky and earth.
Cain frowned instantly.
The realm had reacted to his attempt to override the core.
Unfortunately, retreat was no longer an option.
There was no telling how the dimension would react if he stopped midway through the process. The core might interpret it as a hostile invasion and activate a self-destruction protocol to safeguard the secrets of the Ouroboros Cult.
If that happened, everything hidden within the realm would be lost forever.
“I need to see this through.”
Scarlet flames born from the Power of Chaos ignited within Cain’s eyes while golden light from the Flow surged across his body.
At the same time, the ground beneath the citadel exploded apart.
Four colossal mythic beasts emerged from the awakening formations of the Ouroboros Cult.
An azure dragon rose into the heavens, lightning crackling around its body.
A black tortoise emerged from beneath the earth, carrying mountains upon its shell.
A vermilion bird spread blazing wings capable of incinerating entire seas.
And finally, a white tiger descended from the clouds, its killing intent sharp enough to sever souls.
The four mythical creatures roared simultaneously as they lunged toward the Scarlet King.
“ROOOOARRR!”
The combined roar unleashed a terrifying sound attack that reached directly into the soul.
Fortunately, Cain merely felt a faint sting.
The defenses granted by his overwhelming willpower rendered such attacks nearly meaningless.
“I need to minimize the damage while dealing with the formations.” Taking a deep breath, Cain clenched his fists.
Instead of unleashing overwhelming energy attacks, he condensed all his power into his physical body alone, suppressing the destructive nature of his cosmic energy.
If he wished to preserve the realm and avoid damaging its inheritances, then he could not fight recklessly.
He would answer the ancient guardians with nothing but pure physical strength.
Cain’s figure blurred through the sky as the four mythic beasts lunged toward him with overwhelming force. The azure dragon arrived first, its enormous claws descending like heavenly mountains while torrents of lightning tore across the heavens.
Yet Cain did not dodge.
His eyes sharpened as he stepped forward and threw a single punch.
The space before his fist collapsed instantly.
“BOOM!”
The dragon’s claw shattered apart upon impact, the force behind Cain’s strike spreading through the beast’s entire body. Cracks raced across its scales before the massive creature exploded into countless runic fragments.
Before the remnants could even fade, the white tiger appeared behind Cain, its jaws opening wide enough to swallow a mountain range whole. Its killing intent condensed into blades capable of severing souls.
Cain twisted his body and struck downward with his elbow.
The tiger’s skull caved in instantly.
The shockwave generated by the collision split the clouds above the citadel and sent the beast crashing through dozens of ruined towers before it dissolved into streams of light.
At the same time, the vermilion bird unleashed an ocean of flames while the black tortoise summoned massive gravity fields that sought to pin Cain in place.
The Scarlet King inhaled deeply.
Then his body erupted with monstrous physical strength.
His muscles tightened, and the sheer force radiating from his flesh shattered the gravity fields around him. He flashed forward through the sea of flames, enduring the scorching inferno with nothing but the durability of his Primordial Body.
The vermilion bird shrieked as Cain grabbed one of its wings.
Then he swung.
The enormous beast smashed directly into the black tortoise.
“BOOOOOOM!”
The collision tore apart the sky. Runic symbols shattered as both mythical creatures shattered under the overwhelming impact.
The first formation was destroyed.
Yet Cain did not even glance at the fading remnants.
His focus remained entirely on the core hidden beneath the citadel.
The power of his soul and the [A.I. Chip Module] surged forward once more, piercing through the second layer.
Immediately, the realm reacted.
The sky darkened.
Then the ocean beneath the ruined citadel began to roar.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as the sea rose upward, forming a colossal tidal wave large enough to drown entire worlds. Endless runes glowed within the water, each one carrying ancient suppressive force.
The wave crashed downward.
Cain raised his hand and struck upward with his palm.
The impact split the massive wave apart, yet the divided waters instantly transformed into millions of blades that descended from every direction.
The Scarlet King’s body blurred.
He moved through the storm of attacks with terrifying speed, his fists and kicks shattering every incoming blade.
Still, the formation continued endlessly.
The ocean itself seemed immortal.
Cain frowned.
Then his eyes glowed with golden light.
“The center of the formation…”
His perception pierced through the endless sea until he found the source hidden deep within the storm.
Without hesitation, Cain lunged forward.
The waters tried to stop him, but nothing could restrain his advance. He tore through the ocean like a divine spear before arriving before a massive blue rune hidden at the center of the formation.
He clenched his fist.
Then punched.
The rune exploded.
Instantly, the endless ocean lost stability and collapsed back into ordinary water.
The second layer fell.
Cain did not stop.
His soul force pierced through the third layer.
This time, the heavens split apart.
Nine enormous suns descended from the sky, each one radiating enough heat to incinerate continents. The temperature across the realm rose instantly as space itself began to distort and melt.
The suns rotated around Cain before firing massive beams of destruction.
The Scarlet King’s expression remained calm.
Golden light erupted from his eyes as he activated the Flow to its limit, predicting every trajectory before the attacks even formed.
He moved between the beams with impossible precision before appearing directly before the first sun.
Then he struck it with a kick.
The miniature star exploded.
The shockwave caused the remaining suns to destabilize, but before they could recover, Cain was already moving. Blow after blow shattered the remaining heavenly bodies until the sky finally calmed once more.
Finally…
The fourth layer.
The instant Cain pierced through it, the entire dimension fell silent.
Then an indescribable pressure descended.
Even Cain’s expression turned solemn.
A colossal shadow slowly emerged from the darkness surrounding the citadel.
It was an Ouroboros.
The serpent was so enormous that its body coiled around the entire sky itself. One half of its scales radiated vibrant life force capable of nurturing worlds, while the other half emitted death energy so concentrated that reality decayed around it.
Its eyes slowly opened.
And for the first time since entering the realm…
Cain felt danger.
The giant serpent roared.
The sound alone caused massive portions of the ruined citadel to collapse.
Then it attacked.
Its tail descended first, carrying enough force to crack Empyrean Worlds!
Cain crossed his arms before him.
“BOOOOOOM!”
The impact sent him crashing through dozens of mountains before he finally stopped.
