The First Store System

1205 Decision!

Chapter 1205: Decision!

Jonnah’s job had put him and his family into the dimensional map, so they no longer needed the store’s protection to survive. Since Jonnah had done more than anyone ever imagined, it was time to do what he wanted next.

Jonnah smiled upon hearing his wife’s answer. He couldn’t stop himself, grabbed her into an embrace, and tightly kissed her. Soon after, despite the tiredness, Jonnah seemed to gain strength and impressed his wife.

The time passed with neither of the two sleeping and soon it was nearing sunrise.

Jonnah immediately went to take a bath since he couldn’t go to the store without taking one.

[Host, immediate alert!]

[Jonnah wants to resign from his duties. It’s time to find a new store assistant for the store in the Primal Dimension!]

Aakesh had only killed a Level 310 beast when the system’s mechanical and emotionless voice rang in his ears.

Aakesh didn’t feel surprised since the day was bound to come. Not everyone had unlimited intelligence and endurance to stay physically and mentally charged all the time.

“Okay, tell him; it would be his seven-day notice. On the seventh day, he needs to organize an event and select a new store assistant,” Aakesh informed the system.

Since he was the store owner, the system couldn’t accept or reject Jonnah’s resignation on its own.

After getting the message from the store owner, the system informed Jonnah, and soon, Jonnah started to prepare for the event, announcing it to the entire dimension and shocking everyone.

It would be a lie if Jonnah said that he wasn’t biased and didn’t want one of his children to take the spot. But unfortunately for him, he had no role to play in the selection of the assistant.

On the streets of Kakot, there was joy permeating every corner since today would be the day the store would hire an assistant. No one was disappointed or saddened by Jonnah’s departure other than his family and friends, as everyone wanted that post.

As the time for the event neared, the area around the store was already filled with people.

There was a relieved and joyous expression on Jonnah’s face as he opened the door to the store. He had already gotten used to the fact that he would be ascending, and now he was basking in the joy of getting free from all the stress.

The store seemed organized, but the sheer number of customers made sure that no organized system could help the store manager.

Soon, the chairs inside the store were filled with trillions of people. Every single citizen of the Bisan Empire was inside the store, and yet the store seemed empty as ever.

On the platform, Jonnah sat on his chair, waiting for the set time to arrive. Jonnah’s descendants were also going to participate in the event, so he cheered for them.

“I am grateful for bearing with me all these years…” Jonnah started the note with his farewell speech.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

At the end of the speech, a loud clapping sound echoed in the store. Jonnah could see that the people in the crowd were highly excited to see him leave.

Jonnah didn’t mind because he would feel the same if he were at their place. His family’s status was proof of what getting associated with the store could bring to others.

Jonnah then raised his hands, and the clapping came to a stop. He then announced the format of the competition.

Since too many people were participating in the contest, the store put a fee of one inferior Primal stone as the participation fee, and Jonnah was earning one percent of it as the organizer.

Since the contest was designed in such a way that it had the same level of difficulty for everyone, irrespective of their talent, background, or strength, every single person in the store contested.

The store earned a considerable amount just from the participation fee, and similarly, Jonnah.

A crack-like portal was behind Jonnah, ready to devour anyone who approached it. Beyond it was a separate space where every participant would be stripped of their knowledge, talent, and cultivation. They would start with a blank slate.

The contest was a battle arena, but not a simple one. After entering the competition, the contestant would have a month to train. Then all the contestants would be thrown into an arena together.

Once the number of deaths had reached one-fourth of the total, the battle would come to an end. Then there would be a year of training.

After that, the contestant would be thrown into the arena again, but this time, it would continue till only half of the remaining ones were left.

With every arena, the time for training will grow, and similarly, the elimination quota. The training wasn’t simple weapon training; it was a life-and-death battle with weapons and skills waiting as rewards.

Since every contestant would start with the same level of talent and strength, the effort would decide who would stand till the end and become the new store manager.

There were no rules of battle. Anything went; whether it was evil or beastly didn’t matter. Only the victors mattered.

Still, no one in the crowd flinched and was ready to participate. Jonnah looked at the crowd, took a deep breath, and the next moment, all the participants disappeared from their chairs and appeared on the platform.

It looked like a miracle as the platform, which was not that big, carried so many people and yet didn’t feel overcrowded. But since that was nothing in comparison to the reputation of the store, neither of them had a question about it.

Jonnah then announced the start of the contest as the participants stepped inside the portal one after another.

The screens reserved for the watchers lit up, but there was not a single being to see them as everyone had decided to participate.
