782 A New Day in the Store(4)
Chapter 782: A New Day in the Store(4)
After getting permission from Aakesh, William and Elle wasted no more time and proceeded toward the weapons room.
But before leaving, the duo once again apologized since they didn’t want any bad feelings to stay in the store owner’s heart after they left.
“You should have consulted with me before doing it,” William’s voice rang in Elle’s head as they were going forward.
“It all happened so suddenly. I couldn’t control myself after hearing the store owner’s response,” Elle apologetically responded. She was not only sorry to the store owner but also to William. If the store owner were to take action, even William would have gotten embroiled in it.
“I don’t want anything like this to happen again. We know nothing about the store owner. Offending him would be the most foolish thing, and I have no intentions of letting it happen under my watch,” William told Elle. His voice contained majesty that wouldn’t allow anyone to refuse.
William had also matured and began to take his role seriously over these past years. At first, William only thought he understood his position, but as he grew older, he found he was mistaken.
The position of becoming the next ruler of a race like the Sun Elves didn’t only come with benefits. There were challenges associated with it, and William needed to face them and not run from them.
In the spur of a moment, he had almost ruined his race.
The rules set by Asquith for the crown of the ruler were set in stone, and even the extinction of the Sun Elves couldn’t change them.
William only found out what his escaping could do to the Sun Elves in the future when he matured.
William was madly in love with Elle, but he was not as innocent as he was when he escaped. He now understood his duties. Even if Elle committed a mistake, he wouldn’t think twice before punishing her.
Elle put her head down and didn’t raise it again during the entire journey to the bow’s column since she had no words to answer at the moment.
William and Elle now stood in front of the pillar that had the pattern of a bow imprinted on it, and near it, there was a needle that pierced into Immortal’s skins like it was water.
William’s rigid face turned gentle as he looked at Elle, who had her head down.
He gently patted her shoulders and made her look into his eyes. William didn’t feel the need to say anything as Elle understood what he wanted to say just from his eyes.
Elle’s eyes also turned gentle as she hugged William and whispered something in his ears.
William felt his hair rising when he sensed the air brushing past his ears, and the words multiplied the sensation.
William hugged Elle back and apologized for his outburst. At the same time, his apology contained a stern warning for Elle not to speak anything senselessly like today.
Elle apologized back, and their embrace grew tighter.
Neither William nor Elle wanted to let go of each other, but they controlled their hearts and removed themselves from the tight embrace.
They had all the time with each other, but the training area wouldn’t be there for them after today until the store was going to the Sacred dimension.
“Let’s continue our bet,” Elle then suddenly said as she was the first one to get pricked by needled and feed a drop of blood to the pillar.
A smile appeared upon William’s face as he also acted. The next moment, a golden light surrounded the two of them while their consciousness was already in the infinite space inside the training area.
Every time William and Elle entered the training area, they would do it together, while a bet was going on between them for more than the last five hundred years.
Whoever won more battles would be the winner of the bet, with the opponent race being the Sun Elves.
When William entered the training area, he found himself in a vast empty space with the choices asked of combatants.
William didn’t waste any time and chose the Sun Elves as his opponent. On the Sun Elves, there were four written, signifying that William had already defeated three levels of Sun Elves in the Gods & Demons level difficulty in the training area.
As for the battle environment, William chose randomly.
The next moment, William found himself in a desert while the sandstorm was raging. The farthest William could see in the current situation was around twenty meters.
Suddenly, a white light pierced through the middle of the sandstorm, taking William’s attention away.
William didn’t have to guess the reason for the white light. Soon after its disappearance, he felt a killing sense locked onto him.
Even though William’s visibility range was low, his senses were still working.
William aimed his bow toward the direction of the killing sense, stretched the bowstring, and released it without any arrow.
BOOM!
The next moment, a sonic boom rang in the area as the air released from the string was enough to make even the sandstorm look tiny.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Clang clang clang!
William aimed his bow again and shot consecutive arrows. They had only left when a barrage of arrows came from the other side and clashed with William’s shots.
William was going to take another shot when he suddenly sensed a different arrow in the barrage of shots coming from the other side.
Whoosh!
William loosened the string and bent down slightly when a projectile passed through the spot where once the area between his eyebrows should have been.
Whoosh!
William didn’t even get the time to stand up when he had to turn his whole body to the right as another arrow passed through him.
This time, William wasn’t as lucky as before, and the arrow slightly touched him, resulting in an injury to the area slightly above his right elbow.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
It was only the start as several arrows kept coming at William, turning his situation further precarious.
While dodging another of the enemy’s arrows, William suddenly felt his entire body turning cold as an extreme danger attacked his senses.
Whoosh!
Before William could prepare himself for what was to come, an unbearable pain attacked him, and his throat turned into a stream of blood.
