849 (4) Never Seen Before Situation!
Chapter 849: Never Seen Before Situation!
Aakesh found a man with a cluster of golden lines. It was a scene Aakesh had never seen before, even though he had been entering Panagea for more than a thousand years.
Only the golden lines weren’t excessive, but the same was true for the red lines. There were also many black lines, but they weren’t in the same quantity as the golden and red lines.
(A/N: Gold represents luck; red defines danger; black represents death.)
Aakesh didn’t even think for a second and chose the person on the screen to be his next candidate.
The candidate in question was a man, and he belonged to one of the races of Demons.
The man was the guard of the casino, seven stores away from Aakesh. Since the Demons were known for their tough bodies and lived here in large numbers, the stores usually hired them for security jobs.
The man was almost twice as tall as Aakesh, while he was wide enough to cover Aakesh with only his thighs.
The man had dark skin, but there were red spots randomly spread across his body. It was the unique feature of the Red-spotted Demons.
The Red-spotted Demons were the group with the maximum number of demons in these areas. In fact, they even had a city of their own.
Since the man was a guard, his duty wouldn’t end till sunrise. Aakesh had no choice but to wait for the sun to rise and for the man to start whatever his fate had planned.
Time flew by, and the sun finally rose in Radeon City. The city had three suns in total. Not all of them were in sync, so a few minutes later, all three suns were shining splendidly across the area.
(A/N: Panagea is as large as the third dimension, if not more. There are different places with different time zones, sun, and moon.)
The casinos began closing down since the day was too bright to show the glamor of money.
“Let’s meet if fate destines,” The guard’s friend said, as it was the last day of the Red-spotted Demon’s job, acting as the guard of this casino.
The Red-spotted Demon nodded and couldn’t help but sigh in reminiscence since he had been working here for more than a century. And the time to leave had finally arrived.
The Red-spotted Demon already knew this day would come since he hadn’t migrated to this city for pleasure, but he had work to do.
The Red-spotted Demon then took half of his savings out of his space ring and gave it to the fellow guard.
They had been friends from the start, and the guard had helped the Red-spotted Demon in the early stages. The demon wasn’t going to return, and what he was doing would change his destiny, so he didn’t need much money.
Since anything could happen, he preserved half his savings while giving the other half to his friend as thanks for all the support he had given him.
Before the friend could say no, the demon left the area. The friend’s eyes were moist but since his friend was the one who gave it, he took it and placed it in his space ring. He then turned to look at his friend’s back, only to notice that the demon was already gone.
The Red-spotted Demon was several levels below Aakesh, so he was unaware that someone was following him.
The Red-spotted Demon seemed to be in a hurry as he rushed toward the exit of the city.
Aakesh silently followed the man, as the man’s destiny might upgrade his class only today.
Time flew by, and the demon finally reached the gate.
As hard as it was to enter the city, the difficulty to exit was similar.
When the demon told the guards to let him leave, they first checked his ID. Only when the guards found that there was no problem with the demon did they let him leave.
Not long after the demon left, it was Aakesh’s turn.
Since the demon was outside the gate, Aakesh was following the demon’s actions through the screen only visible to him.
“Show your Id!”
The guard coldly asked, and Aakesh handed his ID over to the guard.
The guard then ordered his subordinates to check whether there were any law enforcement complaints against the owner of the ID or not.
After finding out everything was fine and Aakesh wasn’t a criminal escaping Radeon city, the guard let him leave.
“Your ID will be deactivated, if you don’t return to the city in the next seven days,” The guard warned Aakesh, and then finally let him leave.
Radeon City was a prosperous city since it was only second to the capital of the Glaros Kingdom. Every day, millions of people waited in lines to enter the city. Since the resources weren’t unlimited, the administration had set a limited number of IDs for those who didn’t own any property in the city.
Each ID was worth tens of thousands of great Soul stones, so every spot was valuable.
Aakesh didn’t care much about the ID since his goal for coming here was to help his class upgrade. If it happened today, he wouldn’t even return.
Since he had been focusing on his class all these years, his level had stagnated. Once it became a Mythical grade, Aakesh would throw himself into leveling.
The few minutes of waiting at the gate had expanded the distance between Aakesh and the Red-spotted demon by several hundred miles.
The Red-spotted demon appeared to be in a rush as if turning late would cause him to miss something important. Aakesh also increased his speed since once the distance between them grew to more than a thousand miles, Aakesh wouldn’t be able to follow the demon’s movements through the screen.
One second passed, two seconds passed, three seconds passed, and just like that twenty-six minutes had passed in the blink of an eye.
Aakesh currently stood on a branch as he completely hid his presence. Not very far from Aakesh, the Red-spotted demon was doing some kind of ritual.
He had burned seven sticks of incense, which smelled like blood. At the same time, there was an altar half the size of the demon. On the altar, there were fiendish patterns, that seemed to tell a story.
The Red-spotted demon was taking a bunch of items out of his space ring and was setting them in a specific pattern. He seemed to have practiced this a lot, as his hands never made any useless movements.
After placing a bunch of different items, representing various types of fiends imprinted on the altar, the demon began taking out several vials from his space ring.
Each vial contained a different creature’s blood. Even Aakesh’s eyes narrowed when he saw one of the vials.
