The First Store System

895 Bumper Gain!

Chapter 895: Bumper Gain!

Aakesh closed his eyes, beginning another relaxation session after Jacques left only from the store’s door.

Time flew by, and around two hours had passed in the blink of an eye.

The store hadn’t gotten any customers in the past hours, so Aakesh’s relaxation session had persisted until now. As Aakesh heard a sound coming from the store’s gate, he opened his eyes and looked in that direction.

The next moment, Aakesh’s sight came across a Thorron standing at the gate on the verge of entering the store.

Due to the street’s popularity as a market and the fact that its residents were generally wealthier than those in most other areas of Thorr City, Seventeenth Street was home to several gangs.

These gangs conducted themselves in a way that suggested they were the neighborhood’s top dogs. Their survival was through protection money, and others on Seventeenth Street hired them for security.

Of those several gangs, one was the Blue Darts, and Bretton was the leader.

Blue Dart was one of the top gangs on Seventeenth Street due to Bretton being a Divine Being level cultivator. Not only that, but Bretton also came from a wealthy family since his grandfather was one of the personal guards of the city lord.

Bretton had used his grandfather’s status quite well in his favor and established himself as one of the top dogs, if not the overlord, on Seventeenth Street. Since his family background was also terrifying, the law enforcement department could do nothing against Bretton unless he didn’t go as far as committing tortures, rapes, and massacres.

Garoun also came from a Divine Lord background, so Bretton had a friendly relationship with him.

Bretton had been outside the city for the past few months, so he only found out about Garoun’s death today. If he had been here, he would have at least tried to use his grandfather’s name to solve the issue.

After finding out about Garoun’s death at the hands of a non-demon, Bretton got angry and wanted to kill the non-demon using his own hands. But after he learned about the response of the soldiers and the rumors spreading across the street, the anger turned into curiosity.

The relationship between Garoun and Bretton was friendly. But it wasn’t so close that he would make an enemy of someone whom even the generals didn’t dare attack despite having the city administration’s support.

Bretton wouldn’t do that for his own brother, let alone Garoun, so after learning about the non-demon, Bretton came rushing to the store to check whether the rumors about the non-demon had any substance.

Bretton felt strange about not being able to see or hear anything going on inside the store as he stood at the gate. But since Bretton had heard about arrays or different items with that function, he didn’t waste much of his time standing there and stepped inside the store.

As soon as he entered inside, sound returned to his ears, and he could finally see the store’s interior. He looked straight ahead and saw the blue-skinned non-demon sitting on his chair, staring at him without emotion.

Bretton gave a formal nod to the blue-skinned man when Bretton recognized that he was the store owner. Before coming here, Bretton had learned all the public information about the non-demon on Seventeenth Street.

Bretton then looked around him. He could feel that the material used here was expensive. Bretton didn’t recognize the stones used in the flooring or the wood used in the counter, so he stopped thinking about it.

“Hello, store owner,” Bretton formally greeted Aakesh after he approached him.

Aakesh only nodded in response to his greetings and looked at him, waiting for him to ask about the store’s products.

“I am Bretton. I have heard a lot about you.”

“I am Aakesh.” Aakesh nodded and introduced himself as well.

“What products does this store of yours sell?” Bretton didn’t ask immediately but after a pause of a few seconds.

The reason for the pause was that Bretton was thinking of joking with Aakesh and mentioning Gauron as his friend. But after thinking, Bretton decided to forget it since he couldn’t guess the outcome of his action.

“The store currently sells four products.”

“First are the pills. The store only sells Lesser level pills for now, and there are only five types in that… “

“Second is Panagea. It is a different world, where you can enter using the virtual portal….”

“Third is the weapons and training area. The store only sells Lesser level weapons for now, and there are only five types of weapons available in the store. A training area is a place specifically for weapon training….”

“Fourth is the cultivation arts. The store only had Lesser level cultivation arts for sale at the moment.”

Aakesh introduced all four products currently available in the store to Bretton one by one.

“All of the Panagea spots had already been filled, so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow if you want to enter it,” Aakesh continued, not waiting for Bretton to recover from the introduction.

Bretton, who had been thinking about entering Panagea, couldn’t help but stand dumbfounded as he heard the store owner’s second statement. An image of six people waiting at a corner appeared in his head.

Bretton finally understood what product these people were waiting for.

“How do I increase my chance of entering Panagea tomorrow?” Bretton asked as he caught the word “chance” in the store owner’s statement.

“Come early at the time when the store opens,” Aakesh expressionlessly replied. Coming early in the morning was the only way to get a fixed spot in Panagea for the day, while getting a spot at other times of the day was based on luck.

If Bretton had come yesterday at this time, he would have gotten a spot in the last group of entries, but today, even if he had arrived two hours earlier, Bretton still would have failed to get the entry, like right now.

Bretton nodded and thanked Aakesh for the information. He decided to come tomorrow at the time of the store’s opening.

Even though Bretton didn’t get an entry into Panagea, it didn’t mean he was going to leave. Similar to Panagea, the weapons and training area also interested him.

“What types of weapons does this store sell?” Bretton asked.

In the introduction, Aakesh hadn’t talked about what kinds of weapons the store sold, so Bretton wanted to make sure that the store had the weapon he wanted, lest he got another response like Panagea once he went to the weapons room.

“Swords, Spears, Blades, Sabers, Bows!”

Bretton heaved a sigh of relief after hearing that the store sold blades since it was the signature weapon of his and the Blue Dart’s members.

“Can I get a mass order of the same blades?” Bretton suddenly asked after a pause. Since the store sold blades, Bretton decided to let his team members have weapons as well.

Even someone like Bretton couldn’t afford to grant the same weapon to his underlings, so he asked Aakesh about the mass-produced blades of the same quality and type.

“Yes, you can select any blade you like and buy as many of that type as you want, but with one condition: you need to have the same number of people as the number of blades to buy that from the store. One customer’s weapon purchase is limited to one sale per month,” Aakesh replied.

Even though Aakesh was expressionless on the outside, his heart had different emotions. If Bretton bought more than nine weapons, the store would fulfill one of the two requirements of the weapons quest.

Bretton nodded after hearing Aakesh. He then thanked Aakesh and proceeded toward the weapons room.

Bretton was also interested in the training area, but before that, he needed to find blades since the one he currently used had tears and cracks all over it. Bretton hadn’t been outside the city these past few months for a vacation. But he had instead gone to inspect an ancient city’s ruin since his grandfather had ordered him. These past few months had been as brutal as they had been rewarding for him. He wanted to give a blade to each of his sixteen subordinates for the same reason.

After entering the weapons room, Bretton’s eyes fell on the murals spread across all four sides of the wall. As he moved his eyes and caught sight of a mural related to the weapon blade, Bretton felt a rumble in his head and froze.

The next moment, Bretton found himself in unfamiliar surroundings other than the weapons room or any place he had ever been to.
