942 The Fifth Product(10)
Chapter 942: The Fifth Product(10)
Aakesh was relaxing in his chair when he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps coming from the door. He opened his eyes and turned toward the entrance, finding an unfamiliar face entering the store.
p
The man suddenly stopped as he looked straight and found the non-demon store owner to be directly looking at him.
***
The man’s name was Fick, and he was also a general in the city’s army. Fick was stationed at 14th Street, so he wasn’t aware of the store.
But everything changed this morning. While Fick was doing his patrol with his group, a Thorron from Seventeenth Street was caught by him trying to murder someone.
The man was only an intermediate Divine Being, while Fick was a peak Divine Being, so it was easy for him to put a stop to the man.
Murders weren’t widespread on 14th Street, as the law enforcement head of this street was one of the mightiest in the army. It was only because that man was a native here that he didn’t transfer to more powerful areas in the city. It was only the third case of murder that Fick had come across.
Since it was a rare murder case, Fick took his time and tried to learn the motive behind the man’s actions. From the conversation with the man, Fick found out about the non-demon and his actions.
How a non-demon killed Garoun and his underlings, and the generals standing there could do nothing to stop him. The man further added that he had seen the generals taking bribes from the non-demon, so he ran here. The man he was attempting to murder was one of the people sent by the generals to silence him.
While hearing the story, Fick couldn’t help but frown. Many things said by the man didn’t make any sense, and the man was most probably lying.
In the end, the man was captured, while Fick decided to pay a visit to the non-demon. The man might be lying, but there was no issue with checking the things for himself, except for wasting some time on this monotonous job, where he could neither kill nor use his authority due to the fear of the enforcement head.
Fick didn’t like his mundane life, and when he saw the murder attempt, a tinge of excitement appeared in his heart. Trying to have a sense of adventure, Fick wanted to know about the non-demon and his actions.
***
When Fick entered the store, he was fully concentrated and ready to fight at a moment’s notice or even escape if the situation turned out to be more difficult. He wanted an adventure, but he didn’t want to die. It was the reason that he didn’t join the Kingdom’s army to fight on the border, as deaths regularly happened there despite there being a treaty between the Fawkes and the Ronar Kingdom.
Fick’s brows furrowed even further when he saw the blue-skinned non-demon. After reaching Seventeenth Stree, Fick learned about the store owner from many different Thorrons, and each said one common thing about the non-demon.
“The non-demon fears no one!”
‘Only an early Divine Transformation?’ Fick was shocked after seeing Aakesh’s cultivation level. His cultivation level was so low that Fick didn’t even have to use his senses.
“Hey!” Fick said as he approached Aakesh.
Fick took the words said by the people here seriously, so his tone was calm. The thought of leaving the store had appeared in his head when he was at the store’s gate, but for some reason, his heart wanted him to enter the store, so here he was.
Even if the non-demon had a terrifying background, what has that got to do with him? He had always been wise about his actions. Despite working in the city’s army for centuries, his personality was unknown to everyone.
“I am Fick. I’ve heard a lot about you while I’ve been here, so I’m here,” Fick grinned.
“I am Aakesh.”
“Ah, a man of few words,” Fick said after Aakesh’s short response.
Aakesh had an expressionless face as he waited for Fick to come to the primary questions.
‘There is no point in trying to make friends with the man. He looks down on us,’ Fick thought after seeing Aakesh’s indifferent eyes.
Fick then stopped his antics and directly asked about the store. The people here had told Fick how strong and influential the crowds were at the store.
Aakesh was waiting for this question, so without trying to save any words, Aakesh introduced all four store products and their fundamental functions.
“Tell me more about Panagea,” Fick said, his voice hoarse as he asked Aakesh immediately after he concluded.
Fick finally realized why, deep down, he had wanted to go into the store.
Aakesh then introduced Panagea in all its glory, but when Fick’s excitement reached its peak, Aakesh doused a bucket of cold water on it after informing him about the lack of spots in Panagea.
Fick looked at Aakesh in stupefaction and requested if Aakesh could make some ways for him to enter Panagea.
In the end, Aakesh had to point at the rule board to stop Fick from making further requests despite his refusal.
Fick wanted to request once again, but a voice came from his heart warning him against doing it. He decided to trust his heart like the last time and stopped his requests.
Since the spots in Panagea were filled, the second product in the line was the training area.
Even for someone like him, paying one ordinary Sacred stone for only an hour of training was too much, so Fick chose the Immortal level difficulty training area.
It was still steep, but Fick decided to trust his judgment and left for the weapons room after paying two hundred and fifty lesser Sacred stones.
[Ding!]
Soon after Fick stepped into the infinite space inside the training area, several mechanical alerts bombarded Aakesh’s head.
[Host, congratulations on completing the “Mission objective: Sell Weapons and Training Area hours” successfully!]
[The “Mission Reward: Availability for Higher level weapons for sale” will be given after the store’s closing!]
