Chapter 1438: One Every Minute

After the release of this update, every ‘goddess’ figure in the game would be targeted.

These Orange Genuine Hearts were really expensive, but people were willing to spend large amounts of money on them.

However, these goddesses were going to be overshadowed because the ‘Playing Around’ couple decided to go crazy buying them.

Water Fairy had many admirers. As soon as they saw Lu Li buy the hearts in bulk, they weren’t going to take this lying down. They didn’t know that it was with the help of the System.

How pitiful. They thought that they would be able to steal Water Fairy away if they had bought more Hearts.

The red trees that bore silver flowers in Stormwind City was an unforgettable sight for many.

This was where the Hearts spawned!

In the 18 hours of game time, one could be taken every minute. There were 999 of them in total.

Dawn was a free-to-play game. In the early days, the company’s income was based on transaction taxes. This added up to a sizeable amount, since the player base was tremendously large. However, this update made everyone realise the true money-sucking power of Dawn.

Actually, for any profession, if they could monopolise the market, then they would benefit greatly.

Honestly speaking, Water Fairy and Lu Li had gained a lot. It didn’t matter if this wasn’t part of their plan. The game company had seized this opportunity to turn a huge profit.

The two of them didn’t need to do anything else and successfully became the first couple in the game.

After confirming their relationship, information about Water Fairy appeared on Lu Li’s stat panel. When they stood together, the panel would display more functions. When they weren’t together, there were some functions that were still available for use. Lu Li slightly regretted not letting Water Fairy enter Instance Dungeons with them at the beginning, because many functions couldn’t be used.

The Hearts could be auto-farmed, so Lu Li decided to fight Instance Dungeons.

He didn’t select Onyxia’s lair, he decided to keep farming the Molten Core. His items weren’t up to standard, as many of them were still level 55.

The squad composition was no longer the same as the first 40 people. There were more replacements, such as Fat Monkey, who was a fire-based Mage.

Everyone had already completed two cooldown resets, so their items were gradually growing stronger.

Lu Li had gotten his T2 pants this week.

With the support of the whole guild, March Rain crafted many T2 pants this time and gave the perfect Epic one to Lu Li. This didn’t seem very fair. After all, the recipe belonged to someone else.

Such things were quite common in Dawn.

Furthermore, March Rain didn’t hide this fact from the player who provided the recipe – Scarlet New Moon. However, with the recipe that was provided by Lu Li, March Rain still managed to make an exquisite Epic item. Then, this one was given to Scarlet New Moon.

Bloodfang Pants (Perfect Epic): Armour 160. Agility +150. Strength + 100. Dodge +30%. 3 Sockets. Unique Effect (1): Sinister Strike +1. Unique Effect (2): +50% Decrease target’s movement speed with Kick. Unique Effect (3): Pounce. Instantly move to a target within 15 metres. Deal 200% damage on the first attack, resulting in a 2 second stun. Level requirement: 60. Durability: 380/380.

The stats for T2 equipment were much higher compared to T1 items. Pants would usually be given Dodge, which decreased the rate of receiving critical damage, as well as the critical damage received.

Dodge was added into the game during the last update, so players had only recently begun to collect Dodge items.

The first unique effect of the Pants was adding one skill point to Sinister Strike. However, Lu Li already had the Enhanced Sinister Strike, so it wasn’t the most suitable effect. Fortunately, adding to Sinister Strike also improved the Enhanced version a little, though not to the degree of adding one skill point.

The second unique effect strengthened Lu Li’s Kick skill, so it was quite helpful for fighting against Mages.

The third was a common effect for exquisite items, but this was an enhanced version, which was fitting for a Perfect Epic item.

Although it was a class set item, the stats still varied. The first effect usually added to the skill level, but the skill enhancement varied. The second would also typically be another effect that enhanced a particular skill. The third effect was the one that determined the value of an item.

Three sockets made it extremely valuable. Only Perfect level items would have these.

The first socket was filled with a stone that added Agility, while the second was filled with a stone that added movement speed. Since Lu Li wanted to stick with the Agile Thief pathway, movement speed was extremely important. Finally, the last socket was filled with a stone that added Damage.

The Damage stone was the worst one, and usually, no one used it. However, when the bonus damage was above 5%, these stones would begin to show their worth. Lu Li’s stone was +8% Damage. For Lu Li, this was extremely valuable, since he wasn’t a Battle Thief, but he still wanted to do a lot of damage.

There were also a few more level 60 Epic items, but their stats fell short of Lu Li’s expectations.

It wasn’t as though Lu Li could take other people’s items. Although as a professional player, he had the right to, this right was only limited to competitions. The closest competition was Donghua, and that was at least half a month away.

Therefore, bringing people into Instance Dungeons were the quickest way for Lu Li to get items.

He brought along White Traveller, and they sorted out the items that they each needed.

The first few Bosses didn’t drop any Thief equipment until Shazzrah, who dropped the Wristguards of Stability. Lu Li was already using the Epic set Armor, so this item was sold to White Traveller at the base bidding price.

After this were the Aged Core Leather Gloves. White Traveller also bought them at the lowest possible price.

Aged Core Leather Gloves (Epic): Armour: 120. Agility +120. Constitution +80. Attack Speed +20%. Sockets: 2. Unique Effect (1): Backhand Backstab +1. Unique Effect (2): When dealing critical damage, 20% of the damage dealt is converted into the caster’s HP. Unique Effect (3): Disarm, 50% chance to disable the opponent’s weapon. Duration: 3 seconds. Level requirement: 60. Durability: 320/320.

No matter what, a level 60 Epic item was always stronger than a level 55 Dark Gold item.

Grasps of the Survivor (Dark Gold): Armour: 55. Agility +55. Strength +35. Critical Strike Chance +15%. Sockets: 2. Unique Effect (1): Backstab +1. Unique Effect (2): When attacking, there is a chance of interrupting skill casting. Unique Effect (3): Pounce, instantly move to the target within 8 metres, resulting in 1 second of stun. Level requirement: 55. Durability: 280/280.

The Aged Core Leather Gloves were exquisite and the three effects were all very useful.
