Chapter 1485: Feeling What It’s Like to Team Up

Lu Li was obviously interested.Innocent Child was a high-aunctioning and sensitive player with a lot of experience. He was also ranked quite highly among the star players. According to some authoritative magazines, he was probably 15th to 20th. This was because of the Gangnam Royals Club.
Ruling Sword had changed since its inception, so it was difficult to get an exact number. However, it wasn’t as though they had made all their players rich either. The only two healers they had were March Rain and Mu Qiu. Mu Qiu had already asked Lu Li numerous times if he could invest in a damage output build. He was going to keep a minor healing ability, but it wouldn’t be a very strong healing.
This was why Lu Li wanted to get more professional healers involved.
Originally, he wanted to train them himself. There were a few players with good potential in the Novice Training camp, but they wouldn’t be of any use for another year and a half. If he could pull in a veteran player like Innocent Child, then the club’s strength would see an immediate increase.
As for what Innocent Child would gain, Lu Li wasn’t too worried about it. Currently, Ruling Sword was poor, but the rewards they received were not that much different from their competitors. He kept a part of the money they earned to develop the club, but the players kept almost everything else. The money he kept was used to improve the club players and elite group players.
Lu Li was a very practical person, or to put it bluntly, he was a self-interested person, and so he assumed that everyone else was self-interested as well. If a person quit, he would assume that either they had been wronged or that they weren’t being paid well enough.
It could be hard to work out when someone was wronged, but Lu Li would rather receive less pay so that the others could be paid well.
Given Innocent Child’s current value, it wasn’t something that Lu Li could pay for.
“Let’s play some Survival and Escape if you have the time,” Unforgettable Maple suggested. He was said that he didn’t have much of a relationship with Innocent Child. If Majin Temple was stronger, then they could have easily pulled Innocent Child into their club.
“Alright, let me get Water Fairy,” Lu Li responded.
“Oh, yeah, go get her,” Unforgettable Maple said weakly. He was already having a bad day, and now he had to follow this damned couple around too?
Everyone logged onto Survival and Escape and formed a four-man team.
There was a theory among the gaming circle that argued that building teams required an emotional connection. If the players weren’t on the same page, they wouldn’t function as a unit, even if they were all experts. Innocent Child was probably someone who agreed with this theory, so he had contacted Lu Li to get a feel for whether they could game together.
It was said that Dawn would eventually use Survival and Escape’s formula for one of their own maps in the future.
In that new map, the player’s levels would be fixed at level 60, and everyone started with the same stats. All their equipment, skill books and resources had to be found on the map.
“I heard that you are doing Blackwing’s Nest?” Unforgettable Maple asked when they were entering the game.
“Yep,” Lu Li answered while squinting.
Lu Li already knew what this slimy guy wanted to do. He wanted to get information out of Lu Li.
Majin Temple was really lucky this time. When Lu Li activated the Dragon Slayer’s Roar, they were all in Stormwind City. Almost all their members received this powerful buff, so they managed to defeat the Princess of the Black Dragon, Onyxia.
Right now, they had turned their attention to Blackwing’s Nest.
The reason he was willing to help with Innocent Child’s referral was because it would give him an opportunity to get the strategy from Lu Li.
“Hey, if you can, you should share the strategy,” Unforgettable Maple laughed.
“You’re quite capable. Are you sure you want me to tell you?” Lu Li asked. He was willing assist him because of the referral, but he was warning that this debt would be repaid.
Was the strategy to Blackwing’s Nest that precious?
It really was!
Lu Li’s group had been wiped many times when trying to clear the mechanic Boss. If they knew the strategy, they wouldn’t have had to go through such an arduous process. This would save them a lot of time and money.
However, would a party be able to get through the Instance Dungeon with the strategy alone?
Lu Li currently didn’t have any strategies for the little Red Dragon, and just had to fight tooth and nail to get through it.
“Definitely. The strategy for Blackwing’s Nest would be great for us,” Unforgettable Maple said after he hesitated for a moment. However, he was determined, and wouldn’t change his mind so easily.
“I have the strategies for the first two Bosses. I’ll arrange for someone to send them to you. We are still working on the later Bosses.”
Lu Li was happy to oblige since Unforgettable Maple had insisted on it. As long as someone was willing to pay, Lu Li was willing to share his strategies.
There was no point having a strategy for the little Red Dragon; they would still get destroyed anyway.
When they entered the game, everyone appeared on the plane. Lu Li glanced at the route and proposed, “We should go to the airport; that’s where this plane’s route is heading.”
“There will probably be lots of people,” Unforgettable Maple said coolly.
Although they were all professional gamers, the attitude they had towards this game was never a serious one.
Most people didn’t like dropping into the airport because there were many good items there. This meant that lots of people would often drop there, making it one of the most intense areas of the whole map. Unforgettable Maple didn’t really like the intensity, so it was his least favourite drop location.
“Let’s just drop at the airport?” Innocent Child suggested, not seeming to mind.
“Alright.”
Water Fairy liked to keep positive, and usually wouldn’t back down just because a majority was against her. However, since this was a 3-on-1, Unforgettable Maple had no choice but the drop with the others at the airport.
When the plane flew over the airport, everyone picked a location from which to jump out of the plane.
“12345… 11… 16… Dammit, there’s too many people here,” Unforgettable Maple sighed, feeling depressed. He didn’t feel too optimistic about this location. He felt that any door he opened could be met with a fully kitted-out player.
“Snowy, follow me – we’re on the roof. I see a gun.”
Although Lu Li was trying to build relations with Innocent Child, he still had to give priority to his girlfriend.
“Hurry up, there are so many people nearby,” Water Fairy said nervously.
“I’m going up.”
Innocent Child liked shooting from above, and knew how to make the most of his guns.
“Whoever dies first is an idiot.”
Unforgettable Maple chose a place where the least number of players had landed.
Lu Li immediately tried to grab the gun in front of him. At the same time, there was another person before him that had picked up the AK from the ground.
The AK had been taken, but Lu Li took all 60 bullets from the ground. One of them had no bullets, but the other had no guns. It was an awkward situation, but Lu Li reacted faster. He immediately ran to another gun, knowing that speed was crucial in these moments.
It was a shotgun, a close ranged weapon.
Bang!
Lu Li hadn’t picked up the bullets yet, so this didn’t come from his gun.
A player not far from Lu Li had shot at him, but he managed to duck away in time. After Lu Li ducked, he took aim at the guy who took his AK and fired a shot.
The man who didn’t have a helmet or a vest suddenly fell.
He looked back to the other side, and aimed at the person who tried to shoot him before taking another shot.
Aiming while strafing not only allowed him to aim better, but also allowed him to avoid the returned shot. The two people had fired at each other, but one of them missed. Lu Li successfully knocked his opponent down.
“Snowy, take the shotgun,” Lu Li said as he quickly rushed over and grabbed the AK before loading it.
The top floors of these buildings were quite open, and had a lot of resources but everyone could see each other. Lu Li had to get a better gun before the others attacked him.
There were four players on this rooftop, and Lu Li had killed two, but there were still a few players on the adjacent buildings. Fortunately, they were fighting each other and hadn’t looked to Lu Li and Water Fairy yet.
Water Fairy went straight to the man who had been knocked down by Lu Li tried to kill him with her fists so she could grab his gun.
But how could Lu Li let his girl beat at someone like that? He used his AK to shoot the two players and killed them. He then knelt down and started shooting at the other players on the rooftops.
The stability of the AK was quite ordinary, but considering that it automatically fired 7.62 bullets per second, it was actually quite a good gun. It could basically kill someone with 2 shots. If they weren’t at full HP, then you could finish the target off with one shot.
“Ah, someone is coming up from the stairs to attack me!” Water Fairy screamed. When Lu Li looked over, she had already been downed.
“Just hide.”
Lu Li couldn’t save her now. There was a guy on the left side of the room behind the table, and he had a gun in his hand. As long as Lu Li tried to save her, he would rush out to shoot him. Even if Lu Li was a good shot, he couldn’t do both.
“There’s nowhere to hide,” Water Fairy whined as she stayed in place, struggling to find a hiding spot.
The position of the player at the stairs was revealed when he tried to fire at the downed Water Fairy to finish her off.
Instead of shooting Lu Li, he was shooting Water Fairy. This was obviously to completely eliminate her from the game. The person that Lu Li had just killed was his teammate, and Lu Li had finished them off. The mentality was that they were trying to take as many people down with them as possible.
In Survival and Escape, this was quite a common situation.
If four players entered a game, there were often situations where their teammates were eliminated. This usually made for a bad gaming experience for them.
