Auxiliary Chapter II: The Races
Auxiliary Chapter II: The Races
(Note: All information stated here is based only on Xuan Kai’s knowledge.)
There are sixteen races who share the planet of Xenith.
As a side note, can you believe the humans once tried to name the planet Earth? That’s would’ve been so confusing, considering there’s an Earth Element as well.
Anyway – ranking them from most least powerful to most, the list is as follows:
16. Humans – The weakest race in terms of magic aptitude and strength. Even Dual-Element Awakeners are considered talents. The only reason it hasn’t been wiped out by the other races is thanks to the high number of powerful individuals it has occupying seats in the IMF’s (International Magic Foundation) Council of Arcanity (essentially the executives of the magic world, the law-makers and strongest individuals) – Out of the 16 seats, 3 are humans. It is also why the headquarters of the IMF is located in human home territory – China. What’s more, the globalized language in use by every race is also the product of humans. That being said, the average strength of this race is still the lowest of them all.
Home Territory: China
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 3
Specialized Element: None
Hierarchy: None

15. Demihumans – The second-weakest race, in terms of magic abilities. They possess half-human, half-another-race blood (literally any other race), making them slightly more powerful than normal humans. This race inhabits Japan, a small country to the east of China, due to being neglected and treated as outsiders by both humans and other races.
Home Territory: Japan
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: None
Hierarchy: None

14. Giants – The name speaks for itself. While not very sophisticated in magic, their brute strength alone places them at rank 14th on the list. They have 1 representative in the Council of Arcanity…but he normally attends meetings via video call, as he wouldn’t fit inside the actual room. They inhabit the country far far north – Russia, where they have all the space they need.
Home Territory: Russia
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: None
Hierarchy: None

13. Beasts – When it comes to the average magic power of the entire race, Beasts are only able to take 13th place out of the 16 races. While the truly strong magical beasts are able to take down even an Elemental, they are few and far between. The majority of beasts are used as training material for the other races. It does not have a representative in the Council of Arcanity – most beasts aren’t even able to communicate in the human language, after all.
Home Territory: The Wilderness
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 0
Specialized Element: Any (Varies)
Hierarchy: None

12. Monsters – These are similar to Beasts. While some Monsters are absolute…monsters (in strength and intelligence both), a vast majority of them are not much stronger than normal Beasts. With no representative on the Council of Arcanity, they are exactly what their race name entails. They hunt other races, and the other races do the same to them. While Beasts are viewed as training material, monsters are viewed as an enemy of humanity-
…Well, not humanity. But you get the idea.
Home Territory: The Wilderness
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 0
Specialized Element: Any (Varies)
Hierarchy: None

11. Succubi – The Succubi race is an all-female one. They required a male’s body fluids to survive – be it sweat, blood, saliva, or…you know. And they chose the last option whenever they could – it was their ‘favorite food’, to put it in human vocabulary. After being done with one male, they killed them and moved on to the next – at least that’s how they were before the IMF was founded. Although they were not much different from Monsters before, they had since established a peace treaty with the other races. Details unknown.
Home Territory: France
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Curse
Hierarchy: Normal Succubus ] True Succubus ] Succubus Queen

10. Dwarves – Just as you would expect – Dwarves are short, stocky old men with beards…not. The reality is, true, male Dwarves do appear like that. But female Dwarves are in fact huge beauties. Each and every one of them would pass for a model had they lived on Human territory. Currently, they inhabited nearly all of the continent of Africa near the equator of Xenith, since other races couldn’t bear the heat, for the most part. However, this very same heat was perfect for Dwarven forges and smithies.
Home Territory: Africa
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Fire
Hierarchy: None

9. Dark Elves – Dark Elves are the counterpart to Elves. Naturally, the two races were sworn enemies. It is said that Dark Elves were once a part of the Elf race as well, but eventually got driven out for unknown reasons. Thus, their magic aptitude isn’t any worse than that of real Elves. But well – a minority is a minority in the end – strength in numbers, placing Dark Elves weaker than Elves on this list.
Home Territory: South America
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Earth (mainly plant-based attacks)
Hierarchy: Normal Dark Elf ] Elite Dark Elf ] High Dark Elf
*****
8. Elves – Elves are the closest to humans in terms of appearances, and also similar in the fact that they were one of the largest races as well. That being said, they are far more powerful in the art of magic. Rumors state that even the weakest child among them was a Tri-Element Awakener, meaning they had affinity for THREE elements from the moment they are born. They currently live in America, where they had practically turned the entire country into a forest.
Home Territory: North America (Shared with the Fairies)
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 2
Specialized Element: Earth (Mainly plant-based attacks)
Hierarchy: Normal Elf ] Elite Elf ] High Elf

7. Vampires – Vampires are a race that specialize in Shadow Magic. Therefore, it goes without saying that they are especially weak to Light Magic, and light in general. The most powerful of them are titled True Ancestors, and they had built up a significant resistance to light – enough to venture out in the daytime with no problem at all. Each was at least a Hexa-Element Awakener – 6 innate elements from birth, and a current Golden Monarch. Vampires needed blood to survive, and preferred humans as their favorite prey. Since the IMF’s establishment, however, similarly to the Succubi, they had worked out a deal with the other races. Details, once again, unknown. They are close with the Succubi race, and lived near them as well – in England.
Home Territory: England
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Shadow
Hierarchy: Normal Vampire ] Royal Apostle ] True Ancestor

6. X-Machina – The X-Machina race is quite unique. They are not able to use magic, yet they are still ranked 6th among all 16 races in terms of power. This is thanks to their advanced technology and machinery, giving them strength on par with Advanced Mages, at the very least. But the most fearsome ability they have, is the one to LEARN. They study your movements and attack patterns, and alter their own to counter it. That’s what makes fighting an X-Machina in a battle so difficult.
The X-Machina race also has strength in numbers. It is said that the person who first created them was a Human – and an expert in Metal Magic. What’s more, throughout the years, the X-Machina had figured out a way to reproduce themselves using past data. Thus, they are mass-creating with whatever materials they can get their hands on, on the remote yet large island of Antarctica. They aren’t living beings, after all, so the harsh and cold climate doesn’t bother them at all.
Home Territory: Antarctica
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: None
Hierarchy: None

5. Ethereals – A race of mystery, not much information is known about them. They have human-like bodies, and all can use Void Magic. Ethereals love teleporting, to the point where they rarely ever walk (in the real world, anyway). When teleporting, what they are really doing is entering a rift in spacetime, and phase walking through an parallel dimension where time doesn’t exist. When they exit this alternate plane, it will seem like they have ‘teleported’.
This consumes a lot of mana very quickly, however…at least that’s how it is for any other race. Ethereals seem to nearly never get tired when teleporting frequently, though they can only stay in the rift for a limited amount of time. This gives them a huge advantage in fights, and is really useful for escaping as well.
Home Territory: Australia
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Void
Hierarchy: None (Or just unknown)

4. Fairies – Fairies are the closest thing you can get to spirits. They had butterfly wings and every single one of them knew how to use Blessing Magic – with extreme proficiency too. That isn’t to say, however, that they couldn’t use other Elements. They are on extremely good terms with the Elves, to the point that they share the same territory. The Fairies are kind and caring people, and did their best to help whenever they can.
Home Territory: North America (Shared with the Elves)
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 0 (The Elves speak for them)
Specialized Element: Blessing
Hierarchy: Pixie ] True Fairy ] Archfairy
*****
3. Demons – The 3rd most powerful race on average. Nearly everyone is at least an Ancestral Mage, with countless Golden Monarchs. Each also has reached the peak of the Demon Element (not surprisingly), and can perform a full-body transformation (on their already full-demon bodies) to boost their devilish strength even further. This really depletes their mana, however – they are already pure demons in the first place, so boosting their own strength even further will undoubtedly take more mana then usual. The Demons call this act a Devil Break.
Home Territory: Europe (Except for England & France)
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 1
Specialized Element: Demon
Hierarchy: Imp ] Fiend ] Archdevil
*****
2. Celestici – Celestici are spirits better known as ‘angels’. Although they aren’t exactly what the myths depict, resemblances are evident. For instance, they do live in ‘heaven’ – in a land they call Celestica. They are specialists of, although not limited to, Sky Magic. They had wings that allowed them to fly freely, yet in fact, many disguise themselves as humans to live among them. The reason is unknown.
Home Territory: Celestica (above the clouds)
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 2
Specialized Element: Sky
Hierarchy: Normal Celesticus ] Cherubim ] Seraphim
*****
1. Elementals – In terms of magic power, Elementals are undoubtedly the strongest. They are creatures formed entirely from the mana of a specific element. Thus, every Elemental has the power to shape-shift – they are made of pure energy, after all. However, their one and only weakness is that they can only use one element (the one that they were made from, obviously). Therefore, they are not impossible to beat – the most efficient way would be to counter them with magic of an element that is powerful against theirs (for example, Water Magic against a Fire-Type Elemental).
Home Territory: The Wilderness
Seats in the Council of Arcanity: 0
Specialized Element: Any (Varies)
*****
Areas not occupied by any race are considered The Wilderness, where any kind of Beast or Monster, weak or strong, could appear. Thus, only the best of the best (or the really stupid) dared to venture out their own race’s territory.
