Chapter 479 - High-Level Alert
Chapter 479: High-Level Alert
It was already approaching at 2 a.m. There were still two and a half hours left until the plane departs, and, at the current time, all of the different departments were already on standby. The National Security and ZhongNanHai agents, who had arrived a long time ago, were patrolling and keeping watch always, while the security staff was doing a cabin comprehensive pre-boarding inspection.
The different jobs of the plane’s air route inspection team were nearing their end. What they need to do now was to wait for the airplane to depart, so they could immediately start their overseas arrival preparations and make some formal arrangements with the other country’s department of foreign affairs.
The four soldiers of the Elite Platoon had already arrived at the airport and were making inspections from the shadows. They did not even let off the CCTV’s to prevent people from hacking into it and gaining information on the route the leaders were taking to enter the airport to do things that might cause harm to them.
The flight crew members of the airport were all on standby. All of them cooperated with the inspections from the security personnel to make sure that none of them brought dangerous substances with them… it could be said that the entire airport had entered an alert level of the highest order.
This wasn’t only going on inside China; the same was also going on in the other country. The airport the airplane was going to arrive at was also currently undergoing the same security protocol of the highest alert.
Ye Jian only arrived at the airport after 53 minutes had passed. It was much closer to the time the leaders would board the plane. When they entered the airport, Xia Jinyuan and Ye Jian passed through multiple heavy inspection checkpoints, and, after finally making sure that nothing was amiss, they were allowed entry into the dedicated passageway.
“You should head directly into the boarding room and wait there. You can take a look through this stack of information, just in case the leadership…” Before they had taken more than a couple of steps into the dedicated passageway, Xia Jinyuan was interrupted midspeech by voices from his earpiece, “This is Q King.”
J5’s voice was transmitted from the earpiece, “The Army Lieutenant General’s accompanying secretarial crew had informed us that the most important leader on this mission would be having an audience with Ye Jian in the boarding room. She is to be introduced by the Lieutenant-General. Please notify her.”
“How long will the audience be? Besides the most important leader, does she still need to have an audience with the other leaders?” Xia Jinyuan passed the stack of papers in his hand into Ye Jian’s. His depthless pupils stared at her with a smile. There seemed to be a slight glow bobbing inside them. “We are in the dedicated passageway and will arrive at the jetliner building in two minutes. After that, we will enter the boarding room in five.”
As the student who was supposed to be encouraging the ties between the two countries, the leader must have an audience with Ye Jian for her to get a grasp on the situation.
Ye Jian, who had just received a stack of materials about the other country’s cultures and habits, glanced at Xia Jinyuan, who was calmly on a transmission with someone. She dropped her eyelids slightly and started to glance through the material with elegant expression.
“Okay, I am bringing her there right now, you guys wait for me in the boarding room.” Xia Jinyuan, who had just ended the transmission, took a sideways glance at Ye Jian, who was making quick flipping motions. You could say that she just flipped to the next page after scanning the material from top to bottom. It was swift, but he knew that she had already memorized it inside her heart.
His thin lips curved into a sexy curve, his black pupils contained an expression of admiration. “Little fox, the Lieutenant General had an excellent impression on you. He had mentioned your name in front of the head leader, so now, the head leader will have an audience with you for 5 minutes.”
Hearing that, Ye Jian’s speed of flipping through the material became slower. She raised her head, jet-black yet bright pupils that seemed like pools of water gazed at him. She calmly and confidently asked: “Is there anything that I must be wary of?”
“There’s not much you need to worry about. You’re just a student; the head leader wouldn’t speak with you in a strict tone when supervising work.” From looking at her, there weren’t even any waves inside her pupils. Xia Jinyuan couldn’t help but start laughing. The calmness of this lass… she had the air of a general.
Old Uncle Gen and Uncle Chen had trained her well. Calm and unhurried, never becoming shocked when dealing with things, when she gets in a dangerous situation, the more chaotic it was, the more she can stay calm and not screw up at the most critical time.
