Chapter 485 - Ye Jiu Is Blacklisted By The Country
Chapter 485: Ye Jiu Is Blacklisted By The Country
Fu Zhi did not want to hurt Song Fang’s feelings any further, but she had a feeling that he had misunderstood the medicine she was selling.
Although she looked very rich on the surface and liked to brainwash other people, she was not someone who would exaggerate the effect of her medicine.
Song Fang did not believe Fu Zhi at all. “Our medical technology is very advanced nowadays, so how is it possible that there’s no way to help me?”
‘Well, although our medical technology is extremely advanced, some things just cannot be cured. For example, stupidity.’
Ye Jiu then chimed in, “Look at Lu Yumo. Do you think Fu Zhi’s medicine could improve the brain development of children with intellectual disabilities?”
Lu Yumo was stunned. He had been silent the entire time, so he did not know why they had to include him in their conversation.
Song Fang then replied honestly, “Nope.”
Lu Yumo was stunned again. Well, regardless of whether Fu Zhi’s medicine would really work or not, when had he taken Fu Zhi’s medicine? Why did he have no memory of it at all?
—
The next day, Fu Zhi did not go to school. After all, she still had to supervise the progress of the movie.
By the time she returned to school, she received a call from Sun Sanzhen.
“I talked to Yongge’s parents, and they have taken him out of school. This kid has a bad personality and is credulous,” Sun Sanzhen said as he put the broken bat in his bag. “I’ve asked his parents some questions. Hang Yuan is funded by many prestigious families, and most of them withdrew their children from school yesterday as well.”
Although Sun Sanzhen was a gentleman who took great pride in his profession, he was no pushover. Since Hang Yuan had the audacity to offend Fu Zhi, then they had to pay the price.
Fu Zhi was not interested in anything related to Hang Yuan. After Sun Sanzhen finished talking, he remembered something else and said, “I remember you having an interest in stone gambling a few years ago. Didn’t you? Since you didn’t have much money at the time, you created a stone gambling WeChat group, right? I met up with Lao Liu yesterday, and he told me that Wu Qi is in the group as well. He’s the headmaster of Hang Yuan. Have you forgotten about this?”
“Nope. I still remember,” Fu Zhi replied flatly.
“Okay then. I believe you know what you need to do, so I won’t bother you anymore… Oh yeah, how has Ye Jiu been doing recently? Also, you should stop taking your medicine. After I finish my research on genetic sequencing, I will come visit you in Yu City with Xiao He.”
Sun Sanzhen continued to tell Fu Zhi a few things before he hung up the call. Fu Zhi then went back to her class to take her homework.
Su Xing had not come to school again today. According to Song Fang, Su Xing was taking care of Pei Rang’s father at the hospital.
…
The final competition between No.1 High School and Hang Yuan was around the corner. Although they all felt that Hang Yuan would only compete with Qian Wenrui’s students, perhaps Xiao Liu and the other teachers wanted to have the perfect ending, as they kept pushing the students to work harder on their studies.
Even the teachers from Class 21 were excited. They all fed the students with all sorts of information and knowledge to prepare them for the upcoming examination.
When Fu Zhi got to her classroom, Fan Gaoda was giving the class a pop quiz. He was grinning like a gremlin as he waved at Fu Zhi. “Come over here. I want you to take the test paper in front of me.”
Su Xing was absent today, so Fan Gaoda smacked Song Fang’s shoulder. “I know Song Fang is your friend, so if you still hand a blank paper to me today, I will beat him to death!”
Fu Zhi was left speechless, while Song Fang was dumbfounded.
‘What the hell?’
Sensing his gaze, Fan Gaoda slapped his head and added, “What are you looking at? Your grades are really terrible, so why don’t you work harder? How come I have a student like you?”
“Well, I’ve thought about this question as well,” Song Fang said earnestly. “Perhaps it’s the hand of fate that keeps pushing us together. It’s the universe’s way of telling you that, as a teacher, you should save me, a student sinking deep into the quagmire of losing all purpose in his life.”
Fan Gaoda did not know what he should say.
*
Since it was just a pop quiz, the students were given more liberties. Usually, they would be given 90 minutes to finish a test paper, but a class only lasted 40 minutes. Thus, No.1 High School had introduced the How-Many-Points-You-Can-Get system.
In other words, it was a system that trained the students to get as high a score as possible in the shortest amount of time.
No one would cheat on a pop quiz. Well, it was not like any of them had the audacity to cheat in front of Fan Gaoda. After all, he was notoriously known for doling out heavy punishment to those students who cheated in exams.
Fu Zhi did not want to work on the comprehension and essay part at all, so she turned her attention to the multiple-choice questions. She was sitting in front of Fan Gaoda, and it took her a long time before she answered a question.
Fan Gaoda was exasperated, but at the same time, he felt relieved. After all, Fu Zhi had been handing in blank test papers every single time, and this was the first time she answered some of the questions.
It seemed to him that using Song Fang as leverage had really worked like a charm.
‘Very well. Next time, Fu Zhi will not get good grades. I will use Song Fang to threaten her!’
The person who handed in the paper the fastest was Ye Jiu. It took him only 20 minutes to finish the entire paper, excluding the essay part.
Fan Gaoda had limited knowledge of Ye Jiu and had a bad impression of him. He knew he was very close to Fu Zhi. He also knew he was very handsome, as many girls would flock in front of Class 21 to admire his face during recess. However, just like people always said, “When God opens up a window for you, He will close the door.” Although he was extremely good-looking, he was an underachiever.
When the pop quiz ended, Fan Gaoda collected all the papers and went out of the classroom.
Most of the teachers had given pop quizzes to their students. After Fan Gaoda returned to his office, he began marking the papers, starting from Ye Jiu.
Sitting in front of him was the language teacher from Class 1. She saw that there was a myriad of expressions on his face. One moment, he was frowning in confusion, but a second later, he was sighing in amazement. In the end, he nodded proudly.
Then, she looked at the test paper and saw a big red “100” on the corner. The full mark for the language paper was 150, and 50 marks were allocated to the essay. In other words, this student had gotten a perfect score on the paper.
“100? Who is this student? Fu Zhi or Zhou Zihuai?” she asked.
“Neither,” Fan Gaoda replied, his voice accentuated with disbelief. “It’s Ye Jiu.”
“Huh? Ye Jiu? Didn’t Director Liu say that he has never been to school before?” The teacher continued.
Besides, she’d also heard from Fan Gaoda that Ye Jiu had never paid attention in class before.
“Maybe he’s just as smart as Fu Zhi,” Fan Gaoda said.
No matter what, Fan Gaoda was excited that Class 21 had gained another good student. Then, he heard the female teacher say, “Mr. Fan, I’m not sure if you have heard of this before or not, but Ms. Qian proposed to Director Liu to transfer the top 40 students of the school to Class 1 after the final examination.”
She paused for a moment before adding, “Well, it’s a good suggestion, and the school authorities have agreed to it. I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, those good-for-nothings in Class 21 are beyond saving. They are the worst students I have ever met, especially Song Fang and his gang. No one wants to hang out with them other than themselves. Every time I see them, they’re either playing basketball or they are on their way to play basketball. After Fu Zhi and the others leave, you won’t have to work so hard anymore. You can just give them some tips about the examination and…”
Snap!
Before the female teacher could finish her sentence, Fan Gaoda got so angry that he snapped his pen into two pieces.
“Ms. Tang!” Fan Gaoda shouted as he shot up from his chair, drawing the attention of the other teachers in the office.
“What… What’s wrong with you, Mr. Fan?” The female teacher stuttered.
It was only then that Fan Gaoda returned to his senses. He took a deep breath and said sternly, “All of my students are good.”
The female teacher pouted her mouth and said, “Mr. Fan, I know you don’t want Fu Zhi to go to Class 1 either, but how can you say a rotten apple like Song Fang is on the same level as Fu Zhi?”
“Ms. Tang, I think you don’t get me at all, so let me repeat myself.
“Prick your ears up and listen carefully. Yes, Song Fang and his gang are bad at studying, but they excel in sports. It’s he and his gang who represent our school in every sports competition. Just because he doesn’t excel academically doesn’t mean that he’s lower than Fu Zhi or he’s a bad student.”
Fan Gaoda rolled the paper out and added, emphasizing every syllable that spilled out of his lips, “For me, all of them are the same. Fu Zhi, Zhou Zihuai, Song Fang, Su Xing… All of them are my students. As long as they stay in Class 21, they will be my responsibility, and I will never give up on any of them!”
*
At the same time, Fan Gaoda’s assistant, Yun Xiaoxiao, came to an abrupt stop when she heard their conversation.
She knew that Fan Gaoda was arguing with Ms. Tang about Song Fang, and Fu Zhi was going to be transferred to Class 1…
Initially, she wanted to ask Fan Gaoda about her homework, but she was not in the mood anymore after hearing the news.
She decided to form a WeChat group without Fu Zhi and Zhou Zihuai tonight and tell them everything she’d heard.
*
It took roughly 30 minutes before everyone in No.1 High School knew that Ye Jiu had scored full marks on his test paper.
Director Liu was so shocked by the news that he went to Class 21 with Ma Mingquan to give them a Physics pop quiz.
Before Fu Zhi had come, Lu Chuwan had been one of the top students in No.1 High School. However, since Fu Zhi had joined their school, Lu Yubai’s grades had been gradually improving as well. Perhaps he did not want to get beaten by his sister? Director Liu did not know.
When Director Liu arrived at Class 21, he saw Ye Jiu pull four coins out of his pocket. Before he could comprehend what had happened, he saw something that froze him to the core. Ye Jiu put all the coins in his palm. He shook his hand a few times and then threw the coins on the table.
He did not make a lot of noise. At least, the noise he created was even smaller than the noise made by Song Fang, who was scribbling on his test paper.
Director Liu was speechless, and a bad hunch formed in his heart. He thought he was hallucinating, as he had not been sleeping a lot lately. Thus, he turned his head around and asked Ma Mingquan, “What is he doing?”
Ma Mingquan then pointed at another student, who was doing the same thing as Ye Jiu. “Guess.”
Director Liu was stumped and could hear something inside of him breaking. He then went up to Ye Jiu in a huff and knocked on his table. “What the hell are you doing? Do you know you’re taking a pop quiz right now? Put those coins back in your pocket and focus on your test paper!”
Without lifting his head, Ye Jiu said, “Of course I know that. Can’t you see that I’m asking God for answers?”
Director Liu did not know what he should say anymore. Just as he was about to kick Ye Jiu, Ma Mingquan came up to him and held him back. “Alright, alright, calm down. He’s just a kid. Let’s go have a look at Fu Zhi’s test paper first!”
“How can you turn a blind eye and not do something about it? If he answers the paper normally, maybe he will get all the answers right!”
Ma Mingquan just nodded at him, and Director Liu became even angrier. “You don’t believe me? Just you wait! After the test, give me his paper. I’m going to prove that I’m right!”
Director Liu had been a teacher for a long while and had seen a lot of students like Ye Jiu.
Well, honestly, he despised this kind of attitude a lot. It would be fine if they got the answer right, but more often than not, it was the opposite.
Fifteen minutes later, Fu Zhi and Ye Jiu handed in their papers.
Just like Fu Zhi, Ye Jiu’s paper was filled with words. Director Liu let out a scoff and began marking his paper.
There was still some time left before the class ended. Director Liu sat in front of the class, not believing that Ye Jiu would get any of the answers right.
However, he’d gotten all the answers of all the sections right.
While looking at the full-mark paper in front of him, Director Liu felt as if he was having a dream.
“How is it?” Ma Mingquan asked, snapping Director Liu back to reality.
He did not respond to Ma Mingquan’s question. Instead, he charged over at Ye Jiu and grabbed his hand. “Have you bought lottery tickets before? Come on, let’s go buy lottery tickets later. I will treat you to a meal!”
“Yeah, I have,” Ye Jiu said as he pulled his hand out of Director Liu’s grip. “I’m sorry, but I can’t go anymore. The government has banned me from buying lottery tickets because I’ve won too many times.”
As for why he was still so poor, well, that was a question one could not answer.
