Chapter 279 The Jade Mansion (2)
It was not Mo Bei but Ji Yuan that had registered himself for the battle arena.
Ji Yuan was not a person that would shy away from a fight especially if there was a beautiful maiden like Feng Minyue that was nearby.
Therefore he had registered himself at the battle counter where a beautiful translucent attendant gave him a tally. “Just go through this portal and you will be in the first level battle arena. A random opponent will be picked from among the factions to be your opponent.”
Feng Minyue asked. “Can I watch him from the battle arena?”
The beautiful attendant answered. “Tickets will be 100 high grade spirit stones for entire day. Do you want to pay for the tickets?”
Ji Yuan rolled his eyes when he heard that it would cost 100 high grade spirit stones for the ticket; this is a complete rip off…
“Please give me a ticket.” Feng Minyue said quietly.
Mo Bei laughed. “Please give me a ticket as well.”
A sweet voice said from behind. “I want a ticket as well.”
Ji Yuan turned around as he frowned; it was because he had recognized the voice of Yu Jingjing.
He could not resist frowning with displeasure. “What is there to watch?”
Yu Jingjing hummed coldly. “I’m not watching you. What is there to watch about you? I’m watching my opponents from the other factions so that I can better prepare myself for my own fight.”
Then with a cold smile, she added. “I’m a middle-tier saintess. You ought to address me as Saintess Yu respectfully. Even though we may be in the same faction but don’t blame me for being nasty with you for offending me.”
“And I’m a great saint.” Ji Yuan grinned. “Great Saint Ji Yuan.”
Yu Jingjing chuckled. “You would be a great saint? Please don’t make me laugh. With your poor look, you can’t even be a saint. Does it hurt your manly ego that I am a middle-tier saintess and so you’re trying to claim to be an upper tier saint so that you can be a tier higher than me? It is no wonder that you have such a poor company as well.”
Mo Bei blinked his eyes as he said. “Actually, I’m also a great saint and I’m not poor. I’ve booked the empyrean class room…”
“You’re nothing but a rich wastrel.” Yu Jingjing hummed coldly as she exchanged her high grade spirit stones for a battle ticket.
Then she turned to look at Feng Minyue. “Don’t tell me that you’re also a great saintess?”
But Feng Minyue averted her eyes and ignored her.
Ji Yuan muttered. “She is indeed a great saintess…”
But Yu Jingjing had already entered through to the portal to the arena.
Ji Yuan took a look at Mo Bei as he laughed. “Rich wastrel.”𝒩𝒪𝒱𝑒𝐋𝗇𝖾xt.𝑐𝒪𝑀
Mo Bei: …
The translucent beautiful attendant said to Ji Yuan. “Your battle starts soon. You’re next.”
Ji Yuan laughed weakly. “So soon?”

Ji Yuan found himself in a waiting room where he could view the fight in the battle arena as well.
He was assigned a battle ID number 44,444.
Upon receiving the battle ID tag, he was frowning. “This sounds like Die, Die, Die, Die and Die.”
In the waiting room there were already a few dozen cultivators inside and they were all from the Fire Faction.
Ji Yuan began to rub his chin; it seems that we are unable to interact with the cultivators from the other factions. So how am I going to talk to Feiyue, Little Princess, Qianfeng and Sisi?
And are we going to be opponents?
He was sighing miserably and was even anxious for them. It was because he could tell that there were many geniuses of the Celestial Realm in this place; many of them had a lofty look and were extremely sure of themselves.
And many of them were battle veterans with hundreds of years of hardcore battle experience against the other cultivators.
Usually in a one to one fight, the unorthodox cultivators usually have an edge over the orthodox cultivators when they are at the same cultivation realm. This was due to their more brutal environment.
The current battle was a cultivator from the Water Faction against a cultivator from the Earth Faction.
Ji Yuan recognized the cultivator from the Water Faction; he was Chu Ren the Charming Cultivator. In under a hundred moves, he had completely disabled his opponent and had forced him to surrender.
Ji Yuan frowned when he saw that Chu Ren did not even display his sword and he knew that he was an expert fighter.
From his moves, Ji Yuan knew that this Chu Ren was not even using his full strength yet.
“44,444 vs. 1464!” There was a call for Ji Yuan.
Before Ji Yuan could react, he found himself inside the battle arena.
His opponent was a lanky but old cultivator and he was smirking coldly. “Young man, I’ll advise you to concede your match and I will be merciful toward you. I am Ao Hao, one of the three Evil Heretics of the Devil Isle and my reputation is nasty…”
But Ji Yuan was not paying attention to him because his sharp eyes soon caught sight of Ling Feiyue, Little Princess, Bai Qianfeng and Shui Xisi among the speculator stands that were around him.
Ling Feiyue was sitting in the Water Faction speculator area.
Little Princess and Bai Qianfeng were in the Earth speculator area.
And Shui Xisi was in the Air speculator area.
It appeared that they were all here to scout for useful tips ahead of their own battles.
Their eyes immediately lit up excitingly when they saw Ji Yuan and they had forgotten they were supposed to give Ji Yuan the cold treatment that he deserved.
Locating Ji Yuan and knowing that he was in the Fire Faction gladdened and calmed their confusing hearts immediately.
At the same time Feng Minyue was also looking intently at Ji Yuan from the Fire Faction stands.
“Hey young man! Are you even listening?” Ao Hao growled as he unsheathed his earth-step divine sword and there was hint of pride in his eyes. “I know you. You’re that newly arrived cultivator. I heard that you’re a great hero in the Desolate Celestial Fraternity? Is it because you’re a beardless cultivator and that is why they call you a great hero for daring to walk around without a beard.”
Ji Yuan: …
“You talk too much.” Ji Yuan frowned unhappily.
Ao Hao smiled coldly. “My mouth is on my face and I can do whatever I want with my mouth. That is none of your business. So where is your weapon? Or are you too scare that you’ve forgotten to take out your weapon? Or you are afraid of my divine sword?”
He had an earth-step divine sword. In the Celestial Realm, it is considered to be a top cultivation advantage!
“I don’t need a sword to defeat you.” Ji Yuan said coldly.
Ao Hao laughed coldly as he began to swing his sword. “What bold words. Then don’t blame me for not showing you any mercy…”
But before he could finish speaking, Ji Yuan had flashed next to him and had raised his fingers into a sword stance as he displayed several sword energies bursts to implode on Ao Hao’s face.
Before Ao Hao could even react, Ji Yuan had seized his divine sword and was pointing it at his throat. “You really talk too much. If you don’t concede then I will just have to push forward with my advantage.”
Ao Hao was stunned; he had never seen anyone moved so fast before.
He rolled his eyes as he thought; he looked like a gullible cultivator. Let me trick him using words and I can turn my disadvantage to my advantage. In a fight, everything is a fair game…
All of a sudden Ji Yuan had suddenly flashed with the divine sword that was in his left hand and had suddenly pierced Ao Hao’s throat, giving him a clean death.
“Even though I don’t like to kill needlessly but you have a killing malevolent air around you that reeked of your reckless killing. The number of innocent souls in your hands must be many.”
After Ji Yuan had killed Ao Hao, he saw that there was a mini-wing that had suddenly appeared on his forehand. At the same time Ao Hao possessions were transferred to him and he counted 3000 high grade spirit stones. There were also several minor profound artefacts and pills as well but Ji Yuan did not take particular notice on these.
Ji Yuan grinned silently; now I’m rich.
As he left the battle arena, he had a bewildered look. This Ao Hao was only a golden supremacy judging from his profound animus that was revealed by his divine sword earlier and he had dared to look down on a great saint?
Surely he must be courting his own death.
Correction; he is dead already.
As Ji Yuan left the battle arena, many of the cultivators were secretly taking note of Ji Yuan’s reflexes and attack patterns; when it is time for them to fight Ji Yuan then they will be ready to counter his moves and not be surprised by him.
