Chapter 87 Two New Elder Tokens
With a heavy heart, Yuan Ji had finally laid down the tomb marker and on it was the inscription, ‘My Beloved Consort Jian Yuxian’.
“Yuxian is the name that you have used when we had first met. I shall use this name to commemorate you.” Yuan Ji muttered.
Behind him were Jian Menghao, Jin Yuyun, Xue Qianxue and Ling Feiyue.𝔫𝑶𝓥𝗲𝑙𝐧𝑒xt.𝕔𝑜𝓂
There was also a big griffon that was nearby. This flying mount had actually belonged to Jian Menghao and it had found them when Yuan Ji and Jian Menghao were digging the side of the scenic mountain ledge to make a grave.
Xue Qianxue and Ling Feiyue were startled when they had first learnt that Jian Menghao was actually Yuan Ji’s son. At first they had thought that Yuan Ji was joking but they quickly dismissed their initial surmise. It was because Yuan Ji was carrying the lifeless body of Saintess Jian Yuluo and his expression was extremely grave.
Jian Menghao was now kneeling in front of the tomb as he wept bitterly, “Mother consort, your unfilial son had been with you day in and day out but yet I had never known that you are my mother consort.”
It was no wonder that sometimes he had felt that his aunt was more like his mother to him than his Celestial Teacher.
He knew that his aunt often defended him when he was in the wrong. He had become pampered and arrogant because it seemed that no one in the Profound Heaven Sword Manor seemed to like him and he had no real friends even among his fellow patriarch protégés.
Now he had finally known why.
He gave a deep bow with his forehead touching the ground before weeping out loud, “From today onward, Jian Menghao is no more. I shall be known as Ji Hao.”
Jin Yuyun was startled, “Are you really going to give up your status as the Third Young Master of the Profound Heaven Sword Manor?”
Ji Hao replied firmly, “That’s right.”
Jin Yuyun gasped with shock, “Where are you going then?”
Ji Hao laughed bitterly, “The fraternity is vast. Surely I can find a home in any place.”
Jin Yuyun hummed coldly, “Then I shall go with you as well!”
Not only was Ji Hao stunned when he had heard her but so were Yuan Ji, Ling Feiyue and Xue Qianxue.
Ji Hao frowned bitterly, “I shall take you back to your sect first. Where I am going is not a place for a pampered young mistress like you.”
Jin Yuyun hummed coldly, “Yes, I am a pampered young mistress but I am also willing to give up everything to follow you. Saintess Yuluo and you had saved my life earlier and did not abandon me. Because of me, Saintess Yuluo had even lost her life. Where were my father and grandfather earlier when I was in danger? They were the first to flee from the scene!”
She lowered her eyes shyly, “I have no one to turn to anymore except for you. Do you have the heart to turn me away?”
Yuan Ji interrupted her, “Young lass, go back to your sect. Or your mother consort will feel anxious for you.”
Jin Yuyun laughed bitterly, “My mother consort? She had already passed away from a broken heart a long time.”
Yuan Ji was startled, “Your mother consort is no longer around?”
Jin Yuyun nodded as she returned a soft sigh, “Before my mother consort passed away, she had told me that if I ever met a worthy man that loves me, I should stick with him even if he is poor man lest I will live in regrets like her. I have decided that Menghao…Ji Hao is going to be the man that I will like to be with in the future!”
Yuan Ji was startled that Jin Yuyun’s mother consort was no longer around and he had a light tremble. Although Jin Yuyun resembled her mother but their personalities were completely different. Jin Yuyun was outspoken, frank and incapable of using flowery words.
Jin Yuyun she smiled at Ji Hao as she continued, “If you can abandon your influential background so can I. Together we can wander the fraternity…”
Ji Hao interrupted her with a bitter laugh, “Forget it. You will really lose everything and may never become a sixth realm golden supremacy. Without the cultivation resources and the spiritual mountains of your sect, your cultivation will become a slow snail. Go away, I don’t want to see you…”
“You only say that because you truly care for me, am I right?” Jin Yuyun interrupted him. “Or else why should you help me when I was in danger?”
Ji Hao laughed, “Do not misunderstood. That is only because I am a playboy…”
Yuan Ji suddenly interrupted them as he threw two tokens to them, “Shut up the two of you. If you want to quarrel, confine your quarrels within your bed chamber.”
When Jin Yuyun heard Yuan Ji, she was suddenly flustered while Ji Hao also had an awkward look.
“These two tokens are the Elder Tokens of my Emperor Hall Sect. Since the two of you are fifth realm golden celestials, you can go there to be my elders and instruct the protégés there.”
Ji Hao was startled, “Father, I appreciate this but…”
“No but.” Yuan Ji interrupted. “You shall go there immediately. I don’t want to see you going anywhere where you shouldn’t be. Stay there until I am back.”
“But I don’t know where the Emperor Hall Sect is.” Ji Hao said weakly as he stole a glance at Jin Yuyun.
Jin Yuyun sighed softly, “I have no idea as well. It must be a third tier celestial clan.”
Yuan Ji: …
Yuan Ji: …
Yuan Ji: …
“It is at the Five Heavens Peak.” Yuan Ji frowned lightly as he replied them. “Hop on your flying mount and hurry there.”
Ji Hao said quietly, “I shall listen to father’s instruction.”
As Ji Hao and Jin Yuyun hopped on the flying mount, they were heard arguing. “We should head east and not north…”
“No, it is definitely east…”
“The Five Heavens Peaks is north of here…”
Yuan Ji shook his fists with fury as he shouted at them, “It is in the west!”
“Did you hear your father? It is actually west…”
“Luckily we didn’t go east. That is the opposite direction…”
“How dare you poke fun at me?”
Yuan Ji was shaking his head with a stupefied look, “How did the two of them survive until today?”
Ling Feiyue giggled softly, “Your new daughter-in-law is cute.”
Xue Qianxue said with a chuckle, “I guess my child now has a big brother.” Then she hesitated briefly before saying, “Ji Yuan, are you sure that the Five Heavens Peaks is west of here? I thought that it is supposed to be in the south?”
Ling Feiyue nodded lightly, “Same here. I thought that it is in the south?”
Yuan Ji blinked his eyes before he slowly replied with a loud gasp, “Oh no! I thought that we are still at the Holy Maiden Peaks and forget that we are tailing Jiajia’s flying profound ship…”
He panicky turned his attention to the skies but Ji Hao and Jin Yuyun had already vanished into the clouds.
He could only mutter anxiously, “I hope they don’t lose their way.”
Ling Feiyue said weakly, “So Ji Yuan, where should we go now? We have lost our flying mount.”
Yuan Ji pondered for a while before he said, “Do you think that this mountain peak is a little too mysterious? I mean, this place has a rich spiritual aura but yet there are actually so many high level desolate beasts here. It is as though these desolate beasts are guarding something. Maybe we should explore this place for a little while.”
Usually when a place has a rich spiritual aura in the vicinity, the desolate aura in the vicinity will be weak and cannot support the presence of the powerful desolate beasts.
Ling Feiyue nodded, “I agree that this place is a little mysterious too. Do you remember the cave that we have found? I can feel that there is something in there.”
Xue Qianxue said, “That cave is actually a large cavern with many passages. I took a quick look earlier. The cave is indeed unusual and I can sense that it had been inhabited before.”
“Since we have the time, why don’t we take a quick look?” Yuan Ji suggested. “Even if we don’t find anything unusual, we can still use the cave as a place for us to cultivate until my duel is due.”
The two maidens were in full agreement with him as they began to follow him back to the cave.
Yuan Ji sighed heavily as he took one last look at the tombstone, “Yuxian, good bye…I will take care of our good-for-nothing son…”
Then he turned to say to Xue Qianxue and Ling Feiyue with a soft sigh, “The two of you don’t mind taking care of my good-for-nothing son if I don’t make it back alive from my duel, do you?”
Xue Qianxue, Ling Feiyue: …
“Ji Yuan, we actually do mind a lot. If you die then we will find a seclude mountain to spend the rest of our lives as autonomous celestials. So you have better not die.”
Yuan Ji: …
“Haha, I am only suggesting…”
