Yu Gangan scrunched up her face with no intention to rush down straight away.
Instead, she replied, <My senior brother and sister is welcoming me to the city. How can I leave halfway?
<Fang Zhihan: Brother?? Come down immediately!!>
<Yu Gangan: No>
<Fang Zhihan: Then I’ll look for you in your room.>
<Yu Gangan: You’ll have to find me first.>
<Fang Zhihan: C517>
Yu Gangan was shocked. That was exactly the room that she was in: <You’re not allowed here.>
<Fang Zhihan: If you don’t come down in 10 minutes, I will go up there.>
<Yu Gangan: 30 minutes.> They had booked the room for another 40 minutes. If she was to leave in 30 minutes, that wouldn’t be too bad.
<Fang Zhihan: 20.>
Fang Zhihan’s response was quick and intimidating.
The simple response was his last compromise.
As a result, 20 minutes later, Yu Gangan, Chen Fuli and Zhang Sa exited the karaoke.
Chen Fuli offered to see both women home, but they refused. After all, their homes weren’t on the way.
The night time temperature was below zero. When the snowy cold wind blew against one’s body, it felt like it could pierce through to the bone; simply standing outside for a little while was unbearable.
But, the trio knew each other well and the night wasn’t too late – it was just past 9pm – so there was no need for politeness.
Zhang Sa and Chen Fuli both caught a taxi home while Yu Gangan tucked in her neck and decided to run to the parking lot.
But, just before she started running, a military off-road vehicle suddenly stopped beside her. Yu Gangan spotted Fang Zhihan in the driver’s seat and immediately opened the door, taking the wind and snow with her as she sat inside.
The heater in the car slightly relaxed her body as she rubbed her hands in front of her mouth and blew on it a couple of times.
Fang Zhihan took off his jacket and wrapped it tightly around Yu Gangan. Leaving only a palm-sized portion of her face visible. As his fingers brushed past her cheek, he could feel that it was icy cold. “It’s so cold tonight, why are you out singing so late?” he said in a deep voice.
He cupped her cheeks between his hands, warming her with his palms.
Yu Gangan wanted to slap his hand away, but she was so cold that she didn’t want to move. So, she simply stared at him and said, “Didn’t you come out as well?”
“How are we the same?”
“How are we different?”
“I’m not afraid of the cold. What about you?”
Yu Gangan furrowed her brows.
She originally thought Fang Zhihan would say that he’s a man and she’s a woman. If he did, she would be able to call him a chauvinistic man. But, to her surprise, he said it was because he wasn’t afraid of the cold.
All of a sudden, she didn’t know how to respond.
As the man’s warmth melted her icy cold cheeks, Yu Gangan stuttered a little, “Hurry and leave. You’re going to be fined!!”
Fang Zhihan: “…”
As the car started driving, Yu Gangan felt a lot warmer. She removed Fang Zhihan’s jacket and sniffed a little, “How annoying. I wonder how long it will snow for.”
Fang Zhihan did not respond until the car stopped at a traffic light and he turned his head to look at her. His gaze was deep and complicated as he asked gently, “You don’t like the snow?”
Yu Gangan shook her head.
“Why?” There was a thick mistiness to his eyes that made it seem like he was searching for a particular answer.
“I simply don’t like it.”
Fang Zhihan did not say anything else as he stared out at the snow in a daze with a trace of unhappiness.
Yu Gangan glanced at the man before she looked out at the snow as well. “You don’t like snow either?” she asked curiously.
Snow was beautiful, pure and lovely. Most people liked it.
