Chapter 1150 - Terrible Situation

Chapter 1150: Terrible Situation

The Arbitrator may be heavily injured and screaming hoarsely from his mouth – or more precisely, his mouthpiece – but his movement speed did not seem affected in the slightest. He accelerated to an incredible speed in an instant!

Sheyan had miscalculated. There was a slight opening after he performed the ‘Beast of Corrosion’, and the Predator seized that opportunity to escape!

To be precise, what Sheyan failed to take into account was how incredible the Arbitrator’s armour was.

The armour had provided extremely strong protection for the Arbitrator at critical moments and carried various powerful abilities, but it was also astonishingly heavy, so much so that an ordinary Predator would not even be able to move freely in it.

When the group of humans launched a fury of counter-attacks against the Arbitrator, they were actually destroying the powerful armour and various external devices on the Predator too, so in another sense, they were relieving the creature of the heavy shackles on his body which weighed almost twice his weight!

If the Arbitrator was like a devil previously, exuding dignity and intimidation, he was now like a vigorous and ferocious cheetah. He had become a hidden killer with lightning speed lurking in the darkness, waiting to harvest the life of every creature in his sight!

Aldaris was also powerless to stop the escape of the Arbitrator. An Archon may be strong, but it had three weaknesses. The first was that its attacking range was only about 20 meters. Even among ordinary people, this attack distance would barely count as medium-range.

Secondly, the Archon was something like an offensive tank unit in Starcraft. It was not exactly slow, but it was definitely not fast either.

Thirdly, an Archon lacked crowd control abilities.

Therefore, although an Archon was strong, it was not difficult for the enemy to escape from its attack range. At such times, Pokan’s ability would have played a huge role. Unfortunately, he was already dead.

Sheyan’s attack may be even stronger than Awakener MTs, but in terms of comprehensive strength – more specifically, in terms of protecting his teammates – he still had some shortcomings, being just a Growth Hunter. If Zeus were in his place, he could have reduced the speed of the Arbitrator by manipulating gravity, thus saving Pokan. If it was Skull, he could have instantly put a metallic shell on Pokan to reduce the damage he took…

Aldaris obviously could not maintain the Archon transformation for too long. In fact, he must have paid a great price to transform. He soon regained his original form.

The four men gathered together again with rather gloomy expressions. None of them knew what to say.

Dardanian spoke after a moment of silence. “How soon will the Wasps be ready? I mean, now that we already have seven, there’s no need to wait any longer. Four of us plus three decoys are worth betting on.”

Traces of fear had already crept into Dardanian’s voice at this point.

“The Predators are a race that’s adept in the field of combat medic…. If we wait for that guy to come back, I’m afraid none of us will survive.”

Sheyan, who was dressing his wounds, nodded. He asked Cyborg No. 1, “How much longer will it take?”

“At least ten minutes,” answered Cyborg No. 1 decisively.

It should be mentioned that only the Wasps of Ronnie and Aldaris were those that originally belonged to them. The fingerprint and retina locks on the other Wasps had to be cracked in order for them to be piloted.

Dardanian’s face turned stiff when he heard the news. Cold sweat dripped down incessantly from his forehead. He kept repeating the words “ten minutes” under his breath.

After remaining silent for a moment, Sheyan suddenly said, “Let’s split up. The enemy will most definitely return within ten minutes. I hate to admit it, but his speed is so insane that we have no way of dealing with him after Pokan’s death! If we’re all waiting together when he comes back, even if all the spacecrafts are successfully unlocked, there’ll be no chance for us to take off!”

“It takes 10 seconds for a Wasp to rise to a height of 100 meters after ignition. The Arbitrator’s astonishing speed aside, his throwing spear is also a real threat. Ten seconds is enough time for him to destroy ten Wasps that are taking off. Who’d dare to take off with him waiting to strike at the side? Delaying any longer will only make our situation worse!”

At this point, Sheyan took a deep breath.

“Now, we still have the chance to each take a cyborg and run in a different direction. We can keep the Wasps in floating mode and easily bring them with us while the Cyborgs stay inside to keep working on them. That shouldn’t affect our movement too much. As soon as the hacking is done, we can all take flight at once. That way, even if the Predator manage to catch up to someone, the rest can still escape successfully!”

“But there are only seven Wasps. If we go by your plan, we need eight,” questioned Dardanian anxiously.

“The mistake in this battle occurred due to my error in judgement, so I’ll only take one Wasp. That way, each of you can have two,” said Sheyan.

After hearing that, Dardanian immediately took a Cyborg and two Wasps and fled quickly to the west without saying another word.

Ronnie and Aldaris both looked at Sheyan with complicated feelings before leaving in silence.

Within a minute, only Sheyan and Cyborg No. 1 were left, along with a Wasp spacecraft.

Sheyan stood on the vast plain, his figure a picture of loneliness and desolation. Sheyan stared at the magnificent Uplos asteroid belts high up in the sky with a complex expression. Who knows what he was thinking at that moment.

A few kilometres away in the woods, the wounded Arbitrator lumbered to a big tree. The injuries he had suffered were astounding, and the power of ‘Beast of Corrosion’ was still running rampant within his body. Large amount of emerald blood gushed out from various wounds on his body and finally flowed down his ankles to the ground.

The Arbitrator stood still. A large pool of blood accumulated under his feet in only a short period of time, unable to seep into the ground. The bright green pool actually contained a strange fluorescent beauty.

The reason the Arbitrator was standing still was that he was currently dragging a box out from behind the tree.

A box he had placed here previously.

The box seemed to be specifically designed for Arbitrators too, having distinct red symbols on it.

Bloodspear the Arbitrator pressed his hand to the box. The box seemed to be made from a soft material as it sagged down following the shape of his palm. It then started glowing. If it was forced open in any other way, the power of the resulting explosion was comparable to the power of the Predator’s self-destruction.

After the authentication process, the box automatically folded open, finally turning into a broad metallic platform with a humanoid-shaped depression on it. Bloodspear simply lay down in the depression. Then, a transparent cover closed over the metal platform, and a mask was put on Bloodspear. Gas shot out around the machine to eliminate the smell he left behind, and robotic arms started cleaning up the bloodstains.

Then, six robotic arms popped out from the sides of the medical table, each of them responsible for a part of Bloodspear’s body. After only a short while, his emerald blood fill up the depression and dripped down the edge.

At the same time, three micro monitoring devices were launched hundreds of meters into the air. They flew around like insects. Any data they collected from the surroundings would be transmitted in real-time to Bloodspear on the medical table through the mask, so that he could always grasp the situation in the surrounding area.

The medical table activated its powerful light-refracting device. In other words, it turned invisible.

The efficiency of the medical table was clearly very high. The robotic arms moved so fast that they almost left afterimages. The faster they cut and sewed, the less damage they would do to the body.

The medical table was treating the wounds on the Arbitrator’s muscular body smoothly and rapidly like a production pipeline. The treatment method was very simple – cut open the wound, cut off the muscles that may be necrotic, stop the bleeding, clean the wound, then pour into the wound a viscous liquid which looked like molten sapphire. The viscous medicinal liquid could be used for various purposes. Not only could it greatly accelerate the healing of wounds, it could even be used as a bonding agent for broken limbs.

What took the medical table the longest time to treat were the vein pieces which Sheyan injected into the Arbitrator’s body through the ‘Beast of Corrosion’. These veins were wantonly destroying and consuming the inside of the Predator’s body, using the host’s energy to strengthen themselves. They were also cooperating with the A-virus to continuously erode the Arbitrator’s immune system!

Eight different vaccines were injected into the Arbitrator one after another, but all of them were ineffective. In the end, the result given by the medical table was not good news at all – it would take 11 days, 16 hours and 38 minutes to configure a corresponding cure, but the division cycle of these invasive parasites was only 30 minutes to two hours. After the division cycle ended, they would naturally die.
