If Chatichai had not killed Gullit before Sheyan could, there was no doubt that his kill count would have reached the double digits.

Such an achievement, on a battlefield no less, may not be unprecedented, but it was seriously shocking.

Having chased the enemies all the way here out of fury, Sheyan was already exhausted. He slowly walked back to the place where the rest of his party was located. Only now did he feel the numbness coursing through his body, and the fear. Looking back, those were ten Awakeners he had faced, not ten pigs waiting to be slaughtered! He had only done it because Mogensha’s death had provoked him into launching a single-minded pursuit for revenge without a care for anything else. Sheyan had only walked less than two hundred meters before both Zi and Melody ran to meet him anxiously. They simultaneously felt relieved and surprised when they saw that he was alive, albeit in a sorry state. They rushed to support him and took care of him as if he was going to drop dead the next second.

As soon as Sheyan saw them, he knew that the remaining enemies must have run away.

There was a pair of silver storyline wrist guards which had an ability called ‘Absolute Run’ on them. When the ability was activated, not only would the wearer’s speed increase by 25%, gravity would also be maintained at a 90-degree angle to the wearer’s sole for 120 seconds. In other words, with this ability in play, the wearer could run on the surface of a building like it was flat ground and even walk upside down on the ceiling. It was very useful for running away or chasing after an enemy.

One of the curse twins dropped a silver storyline cloak that could increase the duration of abnormal statuses by 20% and Intelligence by 8.

The most valuable equipment they got was a pair of dark gold boots. They were truly an unexpected gain. Not only did they provide a substantial boost of all attributes +4, they also had the shocking special effects of 25% reduction in ability cooldown time and a 25% reduction in MP and HP consumption when using an ability.

They also came with the active ability ‘Frog Jump’, which enabled the wearer to jump 5~30 meters away. Upon landing, a shockwave which could stun nearby enemies would be produced.

Reef’s ‘Holy Grasp’ Awakener Skill could be considered the most important skill in the party right now and could be used for both offence and defence. However, Reef only had the ‘Courage’ ability which he could use to dash to his allies; he lacked a movement skill to close down on an enemy. So after some deliberation, the dark gold boots were allocated to Reef.

The replaced ‘Trampling Hooves’ were returned to Sheyan.

The silver storyline cloak naturally belonged to Zi.

With the death of Brother Black, Sheyan must boost his destructiveness to ensure that the party had sufficient damage output. He therefore took the silver storyline wrist guards. The ‘Absolute Run’ ability was very useful in both pursuit and escape.

The light green equipment that had been upgraded to level 5, the Hogwarts Sorting Hat, looked pretty underwhelming. Sheyan could feel a mysterious power in it, but none of them could figure out how to use the object properly. Nevertheless, they decided to keep it.

The dark gold club…the liquid metal life-form was salivating for it, and this was what happened after feeding the other four trash equipment to it. To be honest, Sheyan was terrified that it would swallow its current “host”, his dark green gloves. That would be a catastrophe.

Given the team’s current terrible financial situation – they still need a huge sum of utility points to pay for Melody’s stay – the dark gold club was not fed to the liquid metal life-form. It should be able to sell for about 300,000 utility points! With it, Party Ace could finally make up a little for their financial losses.

After Sheyan regrouped with his party, he found that the luckiest person in the whole fight was Old Charlie. Right from the very beginning, he had been flung away into a nearby supermarket and landed on some discounted toilet rolls that were stacked up like a small hill. Sheyan’s upper body was currently bare, exposing his solid, well-defined muscles. He was not trying to show off his figure. Chatichai’s black art was really mysterious and there were some aftereffects it left behind which he had to deal with. For example, wounds that kept dripping pus, sores that looked like the face of a smiling human, etc. He could only remove them slowly with Melody’s help.

Sheyan narrowed his eyes upon hearing what Old Charlie said. “You’re right. The mastermind must know the weakness of this group he had temporarily formed, and that was, as soon as they were at a disadvantage, they would all just fight for themselves. The fact that I could actually kill nine Awakeners in a row shows that something must have happened which caused the mastermind to not be able to command the battle himself,” said Sheyan while Melody was controlling her nature energy to burn away a piece of his flesh that had turned black.

Old Charlie slowly took a sip of water. He only drank boiled water at a temperature of 40 degrees. He would not drink anything else.

“The mastermind disappeared after his attack on Mr. Sanzi failed…and Mr. Sanzi holds the special identity of a Chosen. It’s very likely that his behaviour had violated the authority of our Realm, so he had met with some punishment.”

Sheyan recalled what KD had told him, which he repeated to Old Charlie in full. Old Charlie seemed lost in contemplation. After a while, he suddenly raised his head and said, “Under certain circumstances, KD’s information could possibly help us catch that guy.”

Sheyan nodded with a sharp, ruthless glint in his eyes!

“You better not let me catch you!”

At that moment, near JFK International Airport.

A large mayhem had broken out. A large number of tourists were running around like headless chickens, screaming in horror, frantically trying to flee outside. The police cars and fire trucks were stuck outside, unable to get in.
