Chapter 24

TL-Mechatronic

Luciel had a dream.

In the dream, Luciel was in a cozy and warm cradle. It was like the warm arms of her older sister she had embraced long ago.

A faint scent wafted deep into her lungs making Luciel wrinkled her small nose.

“Somehow I smell a flower.’

Luciel stretched out her body inside the space and found a gap from where the wind came in. In the meantime, she put her small palm and rolled up the top of the soft cradle like a blanket, it curled up gently.

Clear and fresh air.

Leaves covered with moist dew.

Flowers dancing in the gentle breeze.

Luciel realized she was sleeping in a cradle of flowers.

She couldn’t tell if she came to a world where flowers grew bigger or if she had become smaller.

It was then.

“Luciel.”

It was a sweet voice, a voice that I could never forget,

“……Sister?”

“My Little Sister Luciel.”

“Sister, where are you?”

“I am always by your side.”

“Sister? Are you really my sister?!”

She couldn’t believe it even if it was a dream, because I met my sister in my dreams only a few times.

I missed her so much….

I’ve been looking for her so desperately.

“Luciel…”

As soon as she heard her sister’s voice, Luciel suddenly couldn’t tell if this situation she was going through was a dream or a reality. She’s been through a lot of crazy things. There were horrible things that she would rather believe were dreams, and miracles like dreams that were real.

“Sister, this is a dream…..right? I don’t even know where this dream is from.”

Maybe everything is a dream.

The life of the past, which she lived like hell and died unfortunately, might be the real reality and her new warm and cozy life might be a dream.

“Luciel, you are dreaming right now. But it is a clear reality that you are living back in time. It’s never a dream. I’m sorry, Luciel. Not being able to tell you in advance….I’m just sorry for everything.”

Tears welled up in the corners of Luciel’s when she heard her sister’s faint voice. Her older sister tried to protect Luciel until her last moments. Luciel shook her head and said.

“Sister……I know everything now. My sister was trying to protect me. Ung. sniff.”

I was overcome with emotions, and wept along with hiccups. But I soon stopped crying and vowed.

Her own life that Sister tried to protect, now she will protect it herself. I will never live a life like that again. I will do it for me and my sister.

As if she knew Luciel’s heart, her sister’s voice came back with a sweet tone.

“Now Luciel will live a new and blessed life. Sister will watch and pray for you every day. Perhaps that jewel you created at the last minute brought you back.”

At her sister’s words, Luciel pondered the moment of her death.

It was. The last one was a jewel made freely, it was her own will.

The final jewel created amidst death.

‘The power of that jewel has brought me here?’

Her sister’s voice was heard again.

“Luciel, you seem to be getting happier in this life, so this Sister is really happy. You are growing well. Have you ever heard the sound of plants?”

“Right. I heard the sound in the garden with the moonlight dew tree.”

“That’s because you went to an area where the energy of the fairy remains.”

It was a fact that I guessed, but it was still questionable. I heard that it’s connected to the demon realm…

“But it was the realm of the demons…..”

“Both are right. There is no distinction between the realms of fairies and demons. In the beginning, the two races were only divided into brothers, as children of the same god. At night, the fairies of the forest were guarded by the demons. Later, humans took over the forest and drove out both demons and fairies, but the Bellstein family took it back.”

“……Really?”

If that was the case, maybe the relationship with Bellstein wasn’t just a coincidence.

Luciel somehow remembered Kizef’s red eyes she had seen at the last moment. But I couldn’t figure out why I kept remembering it. Could it be because it was a relationship that led to death?

“Both demons and fairies have the same roots. Bellstein and I are no different.”

“That’s right. I’m really happy that you are loved. I feel that they are warm and strong people. Luciel, now Sister has to go. I can’t help you, but I’ll always watch you from afar.”

Luciel clenched a small fist. I was confident that I would not lose happiness to anyone in this life.

“Yes, that’s enough. Always watch over me, I will be happier than anyone else.”

“Thank you, thank you, Luciel.”

After those words, Luciel woke up. Tears streamed down her soft cheeks. When she opened her eyes, three people surrounded Luciel and looked at her with surprised eyes.

“Sister, don’t cry!”

“Luciel, did you have a nightmare?”

Leoni, who was surprised to see Luciel crying, grabbed her hand tightly, Grandpa was worried about her, and her father-in-law silently wiped her tears with a handkerchief. Luciel felt her heart warmer than ever.

Both the new life and the new family were precious and she was deeply grateful for it. Luciel smiled at them and vowed inside.

“Now I will live for my own happiness.’

These days, a lark has come to the window of Luciel’s room every day and chirped. When I opened the window, the trees that she overlooked seemed to greet Luciel by waving their branches softly.

Luciel liked this peace.

“Good morning!”

What Luciel did early in the morning was also to train mana. At first, it took two or three hours, but now she was used to it, and could feel the training with her skin after just 10 minutes of concentration.

Most of all, it was fun to play with mana. At first, it was simply a round bubble shape, but now she can make many things.

As I specified it in my head, mana moved on its own and became a flower or a tree. Rabbits, puppies, it also became a butterfly or a bird.

Luciel flew a bird-shaped mana bubble to the window. Soon it flew over the branches like a real bird. After confirming that mana was running smoothly, Luciel smiled satisfactorily and popped the mana to make it all disappear.

Suddenly, a word popped into Luciel’s mind.

‘Everyone who manifests magic is born with one of the properties that make up nature.’

These were the words Grandpa Gillard told her in the last class.

For example, Gillard had the properties of wood, Leoni had fire, and Louivid had the properties of water. Somehow, it was an attribute that went well with the personalities of the three, so when Luciel heard the story, she burst into laughter.

As such, they are usually born with only one attribute, but Kizef was said to have two attributes, darkness and wind.

In particular, darkness was an attribute that was difficult to manifest.

Upon hearing the story, Luciel remembered a time when she encountered him and felt overwhelming power.

“It definitely felt like darkness….”

Luciel muttered softly.

Then what am I?

A warm fire is good

I like cool water too.

The free wind is nice,

The soil that grows trees and flowers.

Luciel was confident that she would even like darkness. She opened the lid of the jelly bottle while hoping that the day when she would express her attributes would come quickly.

Before breakfast, I should only eat one.’

I thought so, but the glass bottle was empty.

“I don’t have any. My jelly…”

Not a single plump jelly was left. With a sad face, Luciel only smelled the sweet jelly scent of an empty bottle.

‘Ung. The day has finally come.’

The day I have to ask the Duke, no, my father-in-law to give me more Jelly.

“Miss Luciel, good morning! huh? Is the glass bottle empty?”

Bessie asked, seeing Luciel holding an empty glass bottle with the saddest face in the world.

“Yes…..I ate it all.”

Even the appearance of being so gloomy because of one jelly bottle was so cute. Patting Luciel’s on the back, Bessie said.

“Let’s go get it from the Master. He will be very happy. Maybe he is waiting for you.”

“……Is that so?”

“Of course. Otherwise, why would the Master, who hates sweets so much, keep them in a drawer?”

“Come to think of it, he has never taken care of the other two young masters like this, so maybe…’ (Bessie)

Bessie laughed quietly.

“Yes, I will go to the Duke as Bessie said. Oh, before that, wait a minute.”

“You have to eat breakfast anyway, so prepare slowly, I’ll bring you a meal.”

“Yes!”

When Bessie left, Luciel sat down at her desk and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen. The green pen, made for a child’s hand, was decorated with white feathers of an unknown bird, so Luciel felt good every time she wrote with it.

Luciel wiggled the feathers on the pen, pondering what she was going to write. As if thoughts suddenly came to her mind, she wrote it down and then folded the pink paper.

“I don’t have flowers today, so what should I get him?”

What was the most useful, warm, beautiful and precious thing I had?

Luciel ran to the sock tree in the next room. Hanging from the tree were several pairs of colorful socks that were too big for Luciel to wear.

“I had a hard time looking for it.”

As a gift to match the Duke, I chose sky-blue, fluffy and large socks embroidered with snowflakes. I thought he would fall asleep easily if I wore them while sleeping.

“This is the biggest and most colorful sock I found. I think his feet will fit well.”

It was a design that the Duke would never wear, but Luciel, who did not know, bent her eyes and smiled cutely

I think this will work out.

While Luciel, who finished eating, wore a blue dress and tied her hair, a tall shadow tilted against the open door glimmered.

“Luciel.”

It was the Duke’s voice.
