Chapter 55
Chapter 55
“Hmm……I can’t let you, such a pretty child, board this gloomy carriage.”
When Evelyn saw Bellstein’s black carriage, she shook her head. She then used magic to change the carriage’s design.
The large carriage, which was all black, was transformed into an elegant white carriage for outings. The inside was also lined with white and soft cushions, but only the seal of the family on the outside was the same.
“Now it suits our new daughter-in-law. This is a present from this grandmother.”
“Wow, this is the first time I have seen such a pretty carriage. Thank you, Grandma.”
Evelyn winked slightly, and lifted Luciel into the carriage. They reached the downtown shopping district in no time. Although Luciel has been in here before, it was like a different place when she came with Grandma Evelyn.
There were endlessly colorful and cute shops that made her eyes roll, and there were also a lot of sweet dessert shops.
“Luciel, how about going to see your dress?”
“Oh, I bought a lot of dresses from Florine Boutique.”
“Ah, the place you said was gifted to you?”
“Yes.”
“Still, you can’t wear clothes made by only one store every day.”
“But there are a lot of clothes.”
“We usually have a lot of clothes, but when we open the closet to wear them, you can’t find them. Having one trendy item for each season is an investment.”
Evelyn took Luciel’s hand and entered a high-end clothing store. Seeing the off-white dress on display in the most conspicuous place, Evelyn grabbed her hands and said.
“That dress is so beautiful. It would be really cute if Luciel wore that and danced with Kizef for the first time…….”
The dress that she bought for Luciel while lost in her own imagination, cost a whopping 50,000 tillings. It was a design made for adults, but it could be made for children with a special order.
“…… Luciel, isn’t it pretty?”
“It’s pretty.”
No one would look at a face filled with such anticipation and say that the dress wasn’t pretty. Of course, it was actually pretty and luxurious, but Luciel doubted whether she would look good in such a fancy dress.
Evelyn didn’t stop there.
High-quality parasols for children, colored glasses that block the sun, boots and hats. When Luciel left the shopping district, she was dressed similar to Evelyn from head to toe.
“You’re so cute, Luciel.”
Evelyn’s eyes melted, and she held Luciel in her arms.
“Thank you for playing with this grandmother. When she had daughters and granddaughters-in-law, there were so many things I wanted to do together.”
Luciel reciprocated Evelyn’s tight hug and said.
“I really enjoyed it too.”
She never dreamed that she would have such a sweet and sophisticated grandmother.
“Really? Will you hang out with me more often?”
“Yes!”
Evelyn gently stroked Luciel’s flushed cheeks.
“Our sweet and cute child.”
Evelyn was excited to finally meet a granddaughter-in-law, whom she could pour a lot of her affection to.
Her daughter-in-law, Soliaphe, spends more time on the battlefield than with her family, and her blunt and cold personality makes it difficult to deal with her. She couldn’t have dreamed of such an intimate and cozy time like this.
To her, who has always wanted to play with a daughter-in-law, Luciel was like a sweet rain on the dessert.
“Now, I’m going to go buy some presents for the rest of the family, Grandma.”
Luciel mustered up the courage to speak the word family for the first time.
After choosing a gift for her grandfather, father-in-law and Leoni, Luciel bought a small gift for Rose and Bessie with pocket money Grandma Evelyn gave her.
‘I always just received from everyone.’
It wasn’t until Luciel came to Bellstein that she seemed to know, little by little, what a real family was.
As she walked, holding Evelyn’s hand, there was one shop where Luciel’s eye stopped. She ran like a squirrel and looked into the store. It was full of pretty cards and stationery.
“Grandma, I want to look around here.”
When she went inside, there were many more pretty stationery. There were three-dimensional cards in which the castle stood tall when the folded cards were opened, and there were cards with pretty pressed sunflowers.
“Give me all of this.”
After buying a bunch of pretty cards and stationery, Luciel left the store with a satisfied face.
‘I need to go back and write a letter.’
Thinking of the people who would be happy to receive her letter, Luciel’s seemed to flutter. Preparing and giving something to someone was such an exciting thing.
‘It’s a small thing, but I’m so happy.’
Of course, because of that, she had to hide and make jewels. Now, it was not difficult at all to make enough jewels to fill both hands.
Rose and Bessie warmly welcomed Luciel when she returned to the castle, and the quick-witted Rose whispered to her.
“Little Madam, Bell has arrived by the window. I think you got a letter from the Young Master.”
“Oh, really?”
Luciel made bunny-startled eyes, changed into slippers, and went upstairs to her room.
“Is she that happy?”
At Rose’s words, Bessie muttered.
“Oh my, obviously she would be.”
“My little madam is still at an age that doesn’t know about such things.”
Without knowing that such a conversation was going on between the two of them. Luciel barely climbed the stairs wearing pink slippers with rabbits on it.
“I’m out of breath.”
Entering the open room, Bell sat quietly while fidgeting her feet. She seemed to urge Luciel to check the letter quickly.
The reply was very simple and clear.
[I have arrived at the academy. Maximus and the children are all safe. Judging from the fact that the professors didn’t say anything, it seems that my father took care of the altar that we touched at that time.
Did you enjoy the gift? I heard all the girls here like it. I thought you would like it.
I haven’t been nice to you. Tell me if there’s anything else you want to eat, Luciel.]
“I’m glad everything worked out.”
In fact, after telling my father-in-law everything about Phoenix, the Academy, and Quent, a few days later, he received a memorandum from the academy that they would withdraw their hands from the work related to the altar of fire.
Perhaps because they acknowledged that Luciel had the qualifications, it was fortunate that the academy came out fairly smoothly.
Luciel took out the cards and stationery she bought today. In addition to Kizef, there were a lot of people to send letters to. She wriggled for a while, writing cards for her family and because there were so many people to send, it took a full two hours.
“I’m done!”
When she gave a small victory shout, Bessie and Rose entered and stroked her soft hair while meeting her eyes.
“Aren’t you hungry?”
“Actually, a little bit. But I have to eat dinner, so I’ll hold back my snacks.”
“Own, my little madam doesn’t have to hold back.”
Rose hugged the lovely Luciel, making her giggle a tickling laugh.
“Wait a minute. I have something to give you two.”
The two, who always took care of her first with utmost love, were like family members.
“I prepared it because tomorrow is family day. Rose and Bessie are like family to me.”
Luciel smiled shyly and handed the two of them a small present with a card.
A fresh perfume for Rose, who just started a relationship, and a pretty ribbon hairpin for Bessie, who always wore her black straight hair without any accessories.
The two of them widened their eyes at the unexpected gift and kissed Luciel’s cheek. Seeing the two people she liked being happy, Luciel also felt proud.
“Wow, it’s a gift that my Little Madam picked out and a card she wrote herself. I will keep it for the rest of my life. It smells so good.”
“Me too. Thank you for the pretty hairpin, Little Madam. But next time, even if you don’t give me something like this…….”
Luciel put a cute little finger on Bessie’s lips and said.
“Giving is also a pleasure for me. I’ll give it to you again and again, please accept it then. I have a long way to go before filling up as much love Bessie and Rose have given me.”
“Hing, Little Madam.”
“Our Little Madam is good at talking too.”
The two began to sniffle, moved by the words of their little lady. The emotional maids, while appreciating the gifts and cards, went to the wizard to cast preservation magic on them. Luciel took a big bag full of gifts and left her room.
In fact, because she thought jewelry was going to appear soon, Luciel quickly moved away from them, went into an empty room, and put the freshly made jewelry in a pre-prepared pocket.
‘I hope one day I can give them this jewel as well….Who should I visit next?’
I got the presents packet in the order closest to my room, so I started with Leoni.
Luciel stood in front of Leoni’s door and pulled out a light blue box from her bag.
“Leoni, are you in?”
Sasha opened the door to Luciel’s question and Leoni poked his head under her skirt.
“Sister Luciel? Why are you here?”
He said so, but it was actually Leoni, who was anxiously spying through the crack in the door as Luciel pulled out the present.
“I’m here to give you a present and card.”
Leoni, who had his ears pricked up at the word of a gift, saw the sky-blue box Luciel was holding and widened his pomegranate-like eyes.
On the spot, he unpacked the box to reveal a small toy boat that Luciel had bought from a street shop. She didn’t actually expect that Leoni would like it, because already had a lot of expensive and great toys.
Leoni said, looking around the boat with an unresponsive face.
“I like the boat. Thank you, Sister.”
“What? Really?”
“Un. I’ll put this over there.”
Leon’s chubby fingers pointed to a clock tower-shaped drawer next to the bed, where only his most cherished toys could fit. Luciel was a little moved that a 30-tiling toy took the place of true glory. But Leoni didn’t even look at the card.
“Well, Leoni. I also wrote a card, won’t you read it?”
When she waved the card, Leoni snatched it away and his ears turned red.
“……I’ll read when I’m alone.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Leoni shook his head and then let out a sleepy yawn. It seemed like it was time for an afternoon nap.
“Okay. I’ll get going now.”
“Yawn, see you later.”
After petting Leoni’s fluffy blonde hair, he waved his plump hand and Luciel wrapped the carrot bag again.
“Now next is……Father-in-law, Eva and Ellington.”
