The Villain Has Something to Say

Luo Jianqing lowered his eyes and gazed at the Fiend Cultivator in red. After a long time, Mo Qiu’s glabella flashed a blood-red light. Luo Jianqing goggled at it with shock. Suddenly, he saw Mo Qiu’s eyelashes move a little bit, and then… Mo Qiu opened his eyes!

Lu Jianqing watched him with disbelief.

The comely Fiend Cultivator also looked up at Luo Jianqing. After a hum, Mo Qiu asked, “You thought I was dead?”

Luo Jianqing was rendered dumbfounded, just nodding so hard without any words.

Mo Qiu chuckled and said, “How ridiculous! How can I fall so easily?”

Luo Jianqing hurriedly nodded. Mo Qiu sat up slowly and said, “Don’t stand there gawking, we should leave now. If Jin Li changes his mind and comes back, we cannot hold him off.”

Then, Mo Qiu stood up, and Luo Jianqing followed him.

They walked to the edge of the island. Far off to the west the sun was sinking.  The rosy clouds painted the whole sky brilliantly purple and red, as if colorful flames blazing in the air, presenting a magnificent natural scenery.

The beautiful scene reminded Luo Jianqing of what he saw on the Feng Shen Sea. He carefully examined Mo Qiu and convinced that it was not his delusion. Then, he finally asked, “Mo Qiu, what happened? I thought you have… Why do you wake up?”

Mo Qiu didn’t respond. He just gazed at that splendid sunset glow. After a long silence, he said, “I haven’t appreciated the sunset glow with such a peaceful heart for many years. Luo Jianqing, for ordinary people, their world is small, their lives are short, but sometimes, they are much, much happier than us.”

Luo Jianqing frowned and asked with confusion, “Mo Qiu?”

Mo Qiu continued, “Seventeen years ago, I never expected that I could get that chance. I had failed for thousands of times, and I thought the rule of nature just wouldn’t bless me with a chance, or maybe those people wouldn’t give me a chance. Then, at that night, an instant chaos momentarily disrupted the rule of nature, and somehow I succeeded.”

“Mo Qiu, what chance?”

Mo Qiu turned to Luo Jianqing, still not answering him. He curled his red lips and smiled, “I should have realized that our encounter cannot be a coincidence. You’ve given me a chance, and I owe you a life. That’s why I have saved you once and once again, and that’s what shapes today’s Mo Qiu.”

Luo Jianqing felt unfamiliar with those unusual words and he didn’t understand what that meant. However, he felt another gush of panic. He approached Mo Qiu and said, “Just leave here with me. You can tell me these later!”

Just as he finished, Luo Jianqing was about to fly away, yet suddenly he heard a low and soft voice from his behind, “Luo Jianqing.”

Luo Jianqing turned around subconsciously. When he saw Mo Qiu, he was totally stunned.

The evening sun warmed Mo Qiu to a radiant glow, against which his smile looked much brighter. It seemed that he had exhausted all the colors in the world, which made him so beautiful that one can hardly tell he was a handsome man or gorgeous woman. He curved his red lips slightly, forging a smile that touched the soul of Luo Jianqing. However, countless tears trickled down from his enchanting eyes. His tears dropped on the beach, causing a number of pits.

Trembling, Luo Jianqing took a step back.

Luo Jianqing had never seen Mo Qiu shedding tears.

No matter what dangerous situations they had gone through, no matter how severely they were wounded, Mo Qiu never shed tears.

Until today.

He was smiling, yet the smile was tinted with tears. He cried grievously as if he had been heartbroken, as if he had lost the most important thing.

“Mo Qiu…”

With trembling fingers, Luo Jianqing wanted to extend his hand to pull Mo Qiu over, yet his smile became brighter. Mo Qiu suddenly said, “Luo Jianqing, until now, you still don’t know who I am. Until now, you stilldon’t know what I have done for you…”

Just as he finished, a red light shined out with great brilliancy. The red figure transformed into light spots, scattering into the air.

Luo Jianqing looked at him with wide-opened eyes, yet there was nothing he could do. Suddenly, he stepped forward and followed those light spots, but the fierce astral wind on the Feng Shen Sea blew towards him, blocking him away.

“Mo Qiu!”

Luo Jianqing cried out, but those spot lights flew to the west without hesitation.

Crack—

Luo Jianqing heard something in his heart broken. He lowered his eyes, only to find a small blood red bell falling onto the ground, breaking into four pieces. The bell ultimately fell into pieces, never able to tinkle again.

Luo Jianqing clenched the pieces of the bell and repelled the astral wind madly, but those red-light spots still faded away, not going to turn back. They disappeared on the boundless horizon.

– May I ask you name?

– Mo Qiu from the Mo’s Family.

– I’m the Fiend Cultivator.

– I know.

– Then why are you willing to be my best friend?

– Your best friend is me, Luo Jianqing, not that chief disciple of the Tai Hua Mountain, neither the Dao Cultivator.

…

– Your master has left the Tai Hua Mountain for you, and his primordial life was indeed badly wounded. But have you ever thought that someone else, another person might also get hurt for your sake?

– Then who is it?

– You do believe everything I tell you? Luo Jianqing from the Tai Hua Mountain, you are too naïve.

No one could respond to that call anymore.
