This Earth Is A Bit Fearsome

Chapter 76 – Lu Xuan Finally Showed

Those men that she brought had undergone specialized training, and they had no problems dealing with common criminals. However, dealing with a HuaJin Master—especially one capable of getting so frighteningly close so quickly—meant that they were unable to even draw their guns in time, which, in turn, meant that dealing with such a person had been impossible.

She felt tremendously stressed right there and then. Both of those people before him were nothing less her archnemesis, yet there were two of them, and she was on her own.

Worse still, she had no idea just how many more were there in that warehouse.

She finally came to regret what she did, finding that she had been in over her head.

She had been able to get rid of several gangs and criminal organizations, even smugglers, in the past, due to her formidable capabilities. All of that allowed her to rise to the position of chief of a police station before she was even 30 years old.

Those were solid records, after all.

It was due precisely to this that she came right away with her men after finding that those people could have been smugglers. She didn’t think she and her men needed to be afraid even if the potential smugglers were armed, as her forces were armed as well.

The female police officer backed away several steps right away, drawing her gun. She pointed at the two before him.

“Freeze! Put your hands up and tell me who you people are!” the female officer said only after putting enough distance between herself and them. This action made her feel more at ease.

Common people would have had a problem taking out a HuaJin Master, even if they were armed with firearms.

Sensory perception of HuaJin Masters was simply too sharp, and there needed to be several people shooting at them. Furthermore, the shooters had to be elites who were highly proficient with firearms before there was a chance of hitting the HuaJin Masters.

However, it was different in her case, as she was a HuaJin Master herself. Her perception was every bit on par with those two before him. Her accuracy would have been unnervingly high if she were to actually shoot, and that fact put her at ease.

The two before her were actually wary enough not to move too much. However, the two of them seemed to be thinking about how to get out of the spot.

The gates of the warehouse were opened at that moment, and another group rushed out from it. There were two of those people taking the lead. One of them was a bald man with a scar on his head. He looked like a monk. The other was an elder wearing a Chinese tunic. He was not tall, yet he emanated an intimidating aura, like that of a ferocious beast.

 “A cop, eh?”

Master Ying and Yin Tianming looked at each other. Their doubts were somewhat resolved now that they knew hat it was just the police. It was especially so in the case of Yin Tianming, as the act of the police finding him meant that they had been tracking him somehow.

He was the one who chose the location where the trade was to be carried out, after all. As such, he felt rather embarrassed.

“So, the woman here is digging her own grave.”

Yin Tianming smirked. He would have been warier if it was the Special Task Force showing up at his door, yet he saw that there was nothing to be afraid of with ordinary police.

That female police officer felt the hairs on her body standing up, as she stood opposite those people, sending serious warning signals to her brain.

It was her warrior instinct kicking in, telling her that those people before her were terrifying beings.

There were several HuaJin Masters among those people. Even the weakest among them was highly proficient in using hidden energy. There was also the case with the two among the bunch, whom she was unable to read at all.

She knew very well what such a situation would have meant—those people were at least Baodan Grandmasters. No, not even Baodan Grandmasters made me feel so stressed before, she thought.

That was because her master was a Baodan Grandmaster. She would not have been a formidable HuaJin Master herself if it had not been for one such master, and yet, she had never felt so pressured by her master before.

If she were to close her eyes and feel her surroundings, she might have thought that she was facing a huge, ferocious beast instead of a group of people.

It was especially so with the two taking the lead. Her senses told her that those two were not even considered humans, that they were actually monsters in human form.

Her arms were shaking. The pressure from those two people was so great that she found it difficult to even move.

“They’re able to suppress me and keep me still just by using their aura alone. They’re not Baodan Grandmasters. They have at least be Martial Arts Legends to do so!”

The officer felt shivers running down her spine.

“Get up there and finish her off. Leave no loose ends and don’t alert the others,” Master Ying said to a female subordinate of his.

The subordinate moved without hesitation, taking huge strides and coming before the officer, holding her arm in a chopping form and swinging straight for the officer’s neck.

I’m about to die, the female officer thought. The female officer shut her eyes reflexively. Being pinned down by aura emanating from the Martial Arts Legends meant that she was unable to even open fire. It was as her entire body was shaking.

She had no choice but to wait for death.

Yet, at that very moment, mere seconds away from death, she felt the terrifying aura that was pinning her down disappeared without a trace. While she was puzzled as to what happened, her years of training in martial arts and being a cop allowed her to react in time.

 Bang!

A gunshot was heard, and a bloody hole was seen on that female subordinate’s forehead. Blood gushed from the wound, and she slumped over, her face carrying an astonished expression.

Everyone present was stunned. No one knew things would have taken such a turn without warning.

It was especially so with Master Ying and Yin Tianming, who were still puzzled as to what happened, not expecting the officer to still be able to open fire while being pinned down by their aura.

 What the hell is happening?

“Damn…” The officer was stunned herself. She was puzzled as to why she became able to move all of a sudden.

It had been the work of her instinct that allowed her to open fire. With the target being so near and not being on guard, the shot hit its intended target.

“Who is it? Show yourself!” Master Ying shouted loudly after spending a brief moment in confusion.

Yin Tianming realized by then that someone else—someone formidable—had been messing up their auras, which was why the officer was able to fire her gun.

Both men went on high alert in an instant. If there were a top-notch formidable being present who escaped their notice, it would have been someone that they definitely were unable to afford to look down on.

Most importantly, that someone had actually been able to interfere with their auras from so far away. That feat alone spoke volumes of the being’s powers.

Two figures walked out of the woods. One of them looked little more than an average student, wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

The other man looked a lot more elegantly dressed, yet that man followed behind the plain, young man instead.

“Smuggling is a serious crime, you know!” Lu Xuan chuckled and said.

There was no doubt about it. The man who was interfering with the auras emanated by Master Ying and Yin Tianming was none other than Lu Xuan.

He had initially wanted to barge into the place himself but decided to stay behind and keep a close eye on things after seeing that the police surrounded the place.

It was due to him having seen what was happening moments earlier that he had been able to interfere with the aura emanated by those two men.

That act saved the officer’s life.

It was just like how Chen Nian put it—the smuggling deal this time looked like something that both parties were very mindful of; there were actually two Martial Arts Legends present.

This is absolutely anything but ordinary.

One of the two parties involved would be from the Flying Dragon Sect, but there was no idea where the other one was from.

“Who are you?” Master Ying locked his gaze on Lu Xuan like how an eagle as he asked away.
