Chapter 285 - This is Unfair
Chapter 285: This is Unfair
Yuan Keqing had even begun to suspect that her classmates had learned about Tan Mo and Wei Zhiqian’s close relationship from some outside sources.
If that were true, it was evident who was the superior one when comparing her and Yun Xi.
Her classmates weren’t worried about the fact that they weren’t acquainted with Tan Mo or the fact that their praises would not reach her because they were still being guided by a student of Beijing University.
They were confident that when their guide overheard their conversations he would tell his friends, and word would begin to spread. Eventually, it would reach Tan Mo’s ears one way or another.
Yuan Keqing sighed and knew that she couldn’t do anything to stop her classmates as they were all determined to leave a good impression on Tan Mo.
Instead, she pulled her hands into tight fists and was even more determined to get accepted into Beijing University.
Yuan Keqing convinced herself that she was letting Tan Mo slide this time because she wasn’t a student of the university yet and didn’t know anyone here.
She was sure that once she became a student there as well, she would be a threat to Tan Mo and would make her cousin’s university life torture.
When that day arrived, Yuan Keqing was sure that she could make Tan Mo into a villain at the university. She would not let what happened today repeat itself.
With that in mind, Yuan Keqing continued her tour around the campus.
Before she had left this morning, she had been hoping that she would run into Wei Keli.
Instead of her wish coming true, she’d run into her worst rival, Tan Mo. This had all been extremely depressing for her.
She had Wei Keli’s phone number, and they were frequently in contact. However, they had not seen each other for a long time.
She was worried that now that they rarely saw each other their relationship would eventually wither and die.
Yuan Keqing had put in a lot of effort to make sure that her bond with Wei Keli would deepen, even to the point where she overtook Tan Mo’s place in the man’s heart.
She could not let all that work go to waste.
So she pulled out her phone and sent a message to Wei Keli.
“Keli, are you at school today?”
“No, I am taking care of something off campus today. Why?” Wei Keli replied.
“Oh, nothing. I thought that I might get to see you today because my school has organized a tour of your campus.”
Yuan Keqing didn’t get a reply right away.
A few minutes passed before the notification on her phone rang.
“Ah, I’m sorry about that. But you’re planning to attend my university as well, right? We’ll be studying on the same campus then. We can meet whenever we want. I’ll show you around next time.”
Yuan Keqing was completely disappointed by the reply.
She thought that if Wei Keli had been on campus, she could at least have met up with him and talked for a short while.
Since her school had arranged a bus to drive them to the university and then back to their high school, she would have to go back on the bus. They didn’t get any free time to walk around the campus.
Just as the high school students were gathering at the gate and getting ready to go back on the bus, Yuan Keqing unexpectedly ran into Wei Keli.
The most unexpected thing was that there was a girl walking next to him.
Yuan Keqing recognized the girl instantly.
It was none other than Qin Murong.
When Yuan Keqing had first met Qin Murong, she had already been 15 years old. Her face hadn’t changed much, perhaps due to plastic surgery. It wasn’t hard for the high school student to recognize her.
Even though Yuan Keqing still saw Wei Keli from time to time, it had been years since she’d last seen Qin Murong.
However, she remembered who she was right away.
Unlike Wei Zhiqian, who had a lot of work to do at his company and rarely attended school anymore, Qin Murong wasn’t in a hurry to start working.
Her goal was to get a degree from the prestigious university she was attending so that she could make herself more appealing.
Work was not of importance to her. Even if she wanted to work, there was nothing the Qin family would let her do at the moment.
What she had to do now was to graduate from university so she would at least have something to boast about when she got married in the future.
Her title as an alumna of Beijing University was something that her future mother-in-law could boast about and spread around.
So right now, Qin Murong didn’t have many things to do and mostly spent her time loafing around.
She didn’t have to worry about getting a job or her future until she graduated from university, so she could basically do anything she wanted.
Yuan Keqing knew how old Qin Murong was. If she were to ignore that and just look at Qin Murong walking next to Wei Keli, she had to admit that they looked good together.
She got tense immediately at the thought.
I just barely got rid of Tan Mo, and now I have to get rid of Qin Murong? Doesn’t she like Wei Zhiqian? Since when is she so close to Wei Keli? Wait… Could it be that she’s trying to use him to get close to Wei Zhiqian?
However, the more Yuan Keqing studied the interactions between Wei Keli and Qin Murong, the more she could feel that that wasn’t the case.
Their interactions were more than what future in-laws should be.
After going through a few plans in her head, Yuan Keqing quickly ran over to Wei Keli.
“Brother Keli!” The high schooler greeted him without any hesitation.
What puzzled Yuan Keqing the most was that when Qin Murong and Wei Keli got so close, he had never mentioned it in their conversations.
Her woman’s instinct told her that she had to do something right away or else things were going to get out of hand.
It had taken her years to make Wei Keli give up on Tan Mo. There was no way she was going to let Qin Murong reap the benefits of all of her hard work.
Wei Keli heard someone calling him and turned around. When he saw that it was Yuan Keqing, he greeted her with a surprised smile. “Keqing?” He’d never thought that he would run into her as he’d thought she’d already returned to her school.
Yuan Keqing stopped in front of him and looked at him with a pure, innocent smile. “Brother Keli!”
As Yuan Keqing had thought that she might run into Wei Keli on the campus, she had put foundation on her face. Her skin was as beautiful as it would ever get, making others think that her skin was naturally healthy. Since it was a very thin foundation, no one could even notice it.
She’d also made her eyebrows darker and thicker and had a faint pink lipstick on.
That was the prettiest she could get with the minimum amount of makeup.
Yuan Keqing was now blushing as she’d finally gotten to see Wei Keli. She was so happy and excited that he was the only thing she could see and focus on.
Wei Keli’s heart melted when he saw how happy the young lady was to see him.
Her reaction made him feel like he meant the whole world to Yuan Keqing, that he was the most important person to her.
He was instantly satisfied by that thought.
“I thought I wouldn’t get to see you today!” Yuan Keqing smiled. “Who knew I would run into you just as I was about to leave?”
Wei Keli turned to look at the line of high school students who were getting ready to board the busses. “Are you leaving soon?”
“Yes. The tour just ended.” Yuan Keqing nodded. “I even ran into Mo Mo when we toured the Aeronautic Engineering classes.”
“The engineering classes?” Wei Keli found it weird that Tan Mo would be there, but quickly realized why. “Ah! She must have been there to meet up with Ming Yeqing.”
The mention of Tan Mo immediately reminded Wei Keli of the fact that his parents once had planned for the two of them to get married in the future.
