Chapter 1157: Chapter 1157: Signs of a Miscarriage
“Big brother.”
The phone connected to his brother. Zhou Hengyang calmly said, “I was planning to take your sister-in-law to see you this morning, but some urgent matter came up, and we couldn’t make it.”
“Only bringing sister-in-law?”
“Who else did you think there would be?”
“Nothing!” Zhou Hengguang wouldn’t admit it, “I’m sick, shouldn’t the whole world come to see me with such a big deal going on?”
“You really know how to glorify yourself. Alright, I have other things to attend to, so if you’re fine, I’m going to hang up now.”
“What things?” Zhou Hengguang asked eagerly.
“Your sister-in-law is sick. I’m looking for a doctor right now.”
Zhou Hengguang was actually quite concerned about Su Wen, after all, she was his big brother’s wife. Under the affection for his brother’s household, he never viewed Su Wen as an outsider. Hearing that Su Wen was ill, he hurriedly said, “Let my doctor go over! I’ll call him right now.”
“No need, I have already called a doctor, he should be here soon.”
“Hmm!”
Zhou Hengguang fell silent for a moment before hesitantly asking, “Did you have Ji Fang tell me that you want to matchmake for Su Qing?”
“That’s right! It was your sister-in-law’s command.” his words implied that he had no choice but to obey.
Zhou Hengguang internally criticized his big brother for being henpecked, but his tone didn’t change at all, as if he wasn’t the one who had run back overnight.
“Since you must introduce someone then go ahead, but however many you introduce, I’ll sabotage just as many. I don’t believe there’s anyone who dares to compete with Zhou Hengguang for a person; they must be tired of living.” With those words, he hung up the phone with a swipe.
“This kid, he’s really fallen deep.” Zhou Hengyang was a mix of amusement and exasperation.

Soon, the doctor arrived with his medical kit. After exchanging a few pleasantries with Zhou Hengyang, he started examining Su Wen.
At that moment Su Wen was lying in bed, clutching a hot water bottle, completely devoid of strength. She hadn’t expected Hengyang to actually call the doctor to their home. Now that the doctor had arrived, she reluctantly put on another layer of clothes and got out of bed to see him.
The doctor was an elderly practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, with white hair and even white eyebrows. However, he was quite lean, exuding an aura of youthful vigor despite his aged appearance.
Zhou Hengguang’s doctor was a Western medic, but Zhou Hengyang remembered his grandmother once saying that traditional Chinese medicine was best for women’s ailments, so he’d specifically sought a TCM practitioner. The doctor was an old friend of the Zhou family. Hengyang had known him since childhood and had to greet him as “Grandfather Qi” upon meeting him.
The old doctor looked at Zhou Hengyang with an expression of both love and exasperation, seemingly wanting to say something several times but ultimately holding back. He finally sighed and sat down to take Su Wen’s pulse, but the more he did so, the more solemn his expression became.
Su Wen herself started to wonder if she had an incurable disease.
Zhou Hengyang was even more anxious than her, pursing his lips tightly and staring intently, the pressure of his gaze nearly driving the old doctor to stand up and shoo him away.
“What’s the matter, Grandfather Qi? I’m okay, right? It’s just my period.” Su Wen had been too emotional in the car earlier and then felt pain in her abdomen and an overall discomfort. She used to feel this way when she got her period. She intended to endure it, but Hengyang disagreed and insisted they go home to rest.
Not only did he make her rest, but he also stayed home himself.
“Your period?” Grandfather Qi, puffing out his whiskers and glaring, said, “What you have is a threatened miscarriage. Young people nowadays really don’t take good care of themselves. You’re bleeding and you think it’s your menstrual cycle. It’s fortunate I came today, or it would have been a disaster.”
After saying that, Grandfather Qi also gave Zhou Hengyang a fierce look and scolded, “What kind of husband are you? Aren’t you a live-in son-in-law? Shouldn’t you be putting your wife first in everything? You’re doing a lousy job as a live-in son-in-law.”
