Chapter 352.2: Should Go Put to an End
Chapter 352.2: Should Go Put to an End
Although it was just the two of them in the inner room, Gong mama who was in the outer room nevertheless heard clearly. Even Hei Mei who was waiting to the side also disjointedly heard some.
Gong mama didn’t have any reaction. However, Hei Mei was somewhat flustered inside. They’ve seemingly caused trouble for wangfei. If because of this, cause wangfei and wangye to have misunderstandings appear between them, then one was practically unable to escape the blame even in a thousand deaths.
Gong mama glanced at her, having Hei Mei’s reaction all taken in. However, she didn’t say anything at all. Although wangye had ulterior motives, perhaps one should still warn, especially now that there was an extra Fu Xiao. On the surface, although they didn’t discover anything anomaly, but in certain areas, there still exist doubts. As such, some rules still needed to be reiterated. For such a kindhearted master as wangfei, if there are still people that harbor treacherous thoughts, becoming a white-eyed wolf, then without even needing for wangye to make a move, she was all able to have the person secretly taken care of.
“What’s wrong? Is your body unwell?” Qing Zhu who was also to the side just vaguely heard wangye talking to wangfei, yet completely unaware of the specifics. Right now, seeing Hei Mei’s complexion somewhat off, she thus asked.
“It’s nothing.” Hei Mei said, but in her heart, she already decided to privately go talk with her own older sister.
Towards managing the servant girls, it was never within the scope of Gong mama’s duties. That was Jing Wan’s wet nurse’s business. Immediately after, Gong mama just mentioned a line of.
“………….Even if elder sister doesn’t mention, I still have this intention. After all, a new person has come, so the rules still need to be taught. In any case, Fu Xiao’s injuries have mostly recovered, so it’ll also just be in these two days. Since elder sister mentioned now, then a little later, I’ll have them all gathered together and properly teach the rules again.” Jing Wan’s wet nurse said like so.
Gong mama nodded, no longer commenting. Some things didn’t need to be overdone either.
Jing Wan and Li Hong Yuan didn’t appear until the evening meal. On Li Hong Yuan, one was unable to make out any abnormality. As for Jing Wan, her fine black hair was loosely coiled around the back of her head. Her skin was already very good to begin with, and right now, it was further rosy like plum blossoms against the white snow. And in the corners of her eyes, that trace of spring color that still hasn’t completely faded was even more obvious, appearing exceptionally alluring, causing a bunch of servant girls to all be embarrassed to look at her directly.
Perhaps because of having eaten his fill, Li Hong Yuan’s mood was very good. Just that gaze of his, for the most part, was all on Jing Wan. Actually, he further wanted to have Jing Wan held in his arms to cuddle with, but in the end, he still needed to consider for her authority in front of the servants. Casting a glance at the others’ reaction, he thought to himself, this kind of Wan Wan only he can pluck, and only he can be intimate with. And those men outside, further don’t even think about seeing this appearance of hers.
On the first-rank servant girls, there faintly was a bit of abnormality, but Jing Wan this while was somewhat lax, so didn’t have any energy to pay attention to that much.
After the evening meal, and aiding the digestion, because she didn’t feel sleepy at all, Jing Wan even went to go paint for two hours, while Li Hong Yuan fully accompanied alongside from beginning to end.
Actually, it was just Jing Wan focusing on painting, while he focused on Jing Wan.
Soon after, it was a night of good sleep. Getting up the next day, it was feeling fully refreshed again.
Today, they were going to scale a famous mountain, experience a wondrous peak, setting out in light clothing. According to the forecast, it’ll take at least two days’ time. And for the sake of the magnificent scenery, they won’t rush too much. As such, they’ll have to spend at least three days and two nights on the mountains.
Bai Shao right now although appeared fine, but she also knew, she really wasn’t suited to climb a mountain. If when times comes, some mishap occurs, she would instead be a burden and cause trouble for others, “Wangfei, this servant’s injuries still haven’t fully recovered, so can’t serve by wangfei’s side, asking wangfei to forgive.”
“What is there to forgive? The body is more important. It’s not too late to wait until after your injuries fully recover.”
Hei Mei originally wanted to stay behind, but she also knew that it won’t do. Wangfei setting out, generally speaking, between her and her older sister, at least one would have to follow along.
“Wangfei, this servant, in the past, generally would very rarely go out, so one’s stamina is lacking, wanting to ask to stay behind, so that one can also keep Bai Shao company, asking to please graciously permit.” Fu Xiao said as such.
“Alright, I’ll let wangye leave a few more guards. In these two three days, if you get bored, then just go out for a walk.”
“Many thanks wangfei.”
Once everything was arranged, the party just grandly set out.
Li Su Yan had gotten sent out to handle an assignment again, but Yu Zhong Qing and the living survey map, Sir Shi, were both present.
Seeing the beautiful mountains and rivers, heavenly stairways and ‘wooden walkways’[1], Jing Wan suddenly somewhat missed cameras. This kind of scenery, unless a master painter staying over for a long period of time, else it was impossible for anyone to have it ‘retained’ in a short period of time. However, since it was just sightseeing, then what one paid attention to was naturally one’s frame of mind, experiencing the natural beauty. After experiencing this kind of feeling, the rest, rather needless to mind too much, perhaps can leave behind in the heart a profound image, and later have this preserved on the painting scroll.
Because they weren’t in a rush, just leisurely climbing upwards, even the servant girls’ stamina was completely ample.
However, at certain times, Jing Wan nevertheless would begin to ‘act shameless’.
Li Hong Yuan carried a faint smile. In front of this many people, it was rare for Wan Wan to be willing to be intimate with him. Without even needing any hints, and without a second word, he just half crouched down.
And Jing Wan smilingly just pounced on, hugging his neck.
Li Hong Yuan’s hand supported her bottom, still advancing onwards in that leisure pace step by step, seemingly as if there simply wasn’t an extra person on him.
Although this weather was still hot, but the taller the mountain, the cooler it will be. This mountain’s precise elevation, Jing Wan didn’t know, because it didn’t match with the geography of the country in her past life. This made Jing Wan produce doubt towards the idea she once had that this world was another parallel universe of her past life’s world[2]. However, it was boring to look into these questions, because there was simply no way of finding the answer. ———–Just don’t know, when they reach the peaks, whether or not they’ll see accumulated snow.
Jing Wan turned back to ask Sir Shi, but this time, Sir Shi was a bit ashamed. At the time, when traveling through this region, because of certain reasons, he didn’t scale the peak, “………….However, judging from this lower official’s experience, most likely there will be accumulated snow.”
Jing Wan nodded her head, expressing that she understood, and didn’t make things difficult for Sir Shi.
They spent a night at the waist of the mountain, and because they were fully prepared, it was still very cozy.
Because Jing Wan prepared to reach the mountain peak to see the sunrise on the morning of the third day, that’s why, on the second day, they just slowed down their pace again, expanding the scope of exploration around the waist of the mountain. And at this time, being able to see the clouds and mist covering the edge of the cliffs definitely was a great pleasure. In the end, at a spot roughly an hour from the peak, they camped for the night. And at this time, one was able to distinctly sense the chilliness. However, Jing Wan slept very comfortably nestled in Li Hong Yuan’s arms. The next day, they got up very early, quickly washing up.
“You all don’t need to follow along.” This kind of scenery filled with poetic grace, Li Hong Yuan naturally just wanted to enjoy alone with his wife.
In reality, once the red sun emerged, the snow mantle covering the peak all spread with a layer of gold with in red radiance, and the churning sea of clouds further washed over with a deep golden red. The beautiful scenery in that moment was so dazzling to the point that it was more than enough to make one forget everything in the surrounding. Although this wasn’t their first time seeing the sunrise after coming to Jiangnan, but the scenery previously, compared with this one before their eyes, was still very much lacking. “So pretty………..” Jing Wan softly muttered.
Li Hong Yuan turned his head to look at her, reaching out to stroke her slightly cold cheeks. From the depths of his heart, he felt that no matter how beautiful of a scenery, it still can’t be more beautiful than the person before his eyes.
Li Hong Yuan, in the past, also never thought that there would be such a day, beautiful and tranquil, wanting the heaven and earth to last for an eternity.
The sun gradually rose, and Jing Wan seemingly finished being sentimental, pulling Li Hong Yuan’s hand to leave, “Done watching, so let’s go, time to head down the mountain.”
A trace of helplessness flashed through Li Hong Yuan’s eyes. His little darling actually had times when she would ruin the atmosphere.
They didn’t rush to descend the mountain, but compared with scaling the mountain, it was still much quicker. More or less around nightfall, they returned to their temporary lodging.
Climbing a mountain was also a tiring matter, so this night, they slept very deeply.
“Next is Shanbei Prefecture’s Yangzhou Fu. The Pei County seemingly is in this boundary.”
“En, should go put to an end.”
[1] Heavenly stairways is a literary way of referring to high mountain roads, and the wooden walkways refer to the paths built on the edge of a cliff. There’s also the really famous one on Mt. Hua, one of the five sacred mountains, that don’t have railings.
[2] I’m not really sure if this explanation is really necessary, but in case there’s confusion. Before Jing Wan assumed that this world was just a parallel universe of her past life’s world because the culture and history somewhat matched, for example having an alternate history, such as in Qi Yuan’s history, the Chu won during the Chu-Han war, whereas in actual history Han won. However, she’s having doubts about her previous assumption now seeing that the geography of the country is different from her past life’s world.
