Versatile Superstar: Rise In Hollywood

37 Chapter 037. The Wedding Song

29th June 2015

“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s applaud the beautiful couple.”

The host for the reception, a pretty blonde woman, said and smiled at the couple, Lamar and Carla. Both were standing in the middle as the guests looked towards them, sitting at their tables.

The whole atmosphere looked happy with flowers everywhere. It was an atmosphere that would make anyone feel happy just by being here.

“Now, it’s the time for the first dance, and as we all know, it’s an extraordinary moment for any couple.” She smiled. “So, we have arranged a singer for the wedding song. I hope you will like him. Please welcome, Aiden Silvereye.”

Aiden walked into the room with his guitar in hand with that introduction. He was wearing a suit, the only one he had, with his hair looking very neat.

As he reached the stage, some people recognized him. Valerie waved at him from a corner.

‘I need to give my best performance.’

Thinking that, he leaned toward the mic and congratulated the couple on their wedding.

“Hello, congratulations on your wedding. And thank you for giving me this opportunity. I hope you like the song I made for both of you.”

Carla, a woman in her 40s, smiled at that. It was her second marriage, and the last few years before meeting her current husband were very hard for her, but she had somehow done it and was now finally happy.

For her, all Aiden could do was give her a good song.

He slowly started strumming the strings of his guitar as a melody that seemed nice to one’s ears rang out. There was nothing flashy in it, but the tone was lovely.

“The first time I saw you, I was soaking in the rain.”

“Oh, it still feels like yesterday, how times seem to fade.”

“The way you come into my life.”

“I realize you were the one I was missing.”

The soft music of the guitar, the soothing voice of Aiden, and the meaningful lyrics gave birth to an instant charm. The happy atmosphere of the marriage just added to it.

But he suddenly noticed a peculiar thing about his singing. There was no white light. More like, the white light from the music was feeble, and instead, it was the silver light that was the dominant one.

Not focusing on the lights, he just sang the song.

“When I touch your hand, it shouldn’t seem like a lot.”

“But it sure feels a lot.”

“So, just let me take you in my arms.”

The song’s tempo increased here as Aiden tried to sing with more emotions. As he was singing, he just thought of how good of a feeling it was to love someone.

The married couple danced as he sang.

“You hold on to me as we dance.”

“Lost in each other like we are in a trance.”

“You hold my hands, and I care for your heart.”

“Hoping that we will never be apart.”

As the chorus came around, the silver light had already mixed in the whole room, with everyone already lost in the song. The couple was dancing happily, and it seemed like they were feeling the love from Aiden’s song.

“Let’s just stand where we are like it’s our only chance.”

“To hold each other’s hand.”

“Let troubles not sway us into thinking we are not meant for each other.”

The strumming of the guitar changed to a bit slower as Aiden tried to match the rhythm to the slow dancing of the couple.

Watching them, he felt like he was finally a bit happier. After all, his music was becoming part of someone else’s happiness.

Maybe, that much was enough for a musician. Making people happy with their music.

He sang the chorus again, but it was like a slow whisper this time, mixing in with the atmosphere filled with the silver light.

Somehow, Aiden felt like this song would be special for him at that moment.

“Thank you for making our wedding so memorable.”

The couple thanked Aiden after his performance ended. They had a great time during their first dance, and it was all thanks to Aiden’s song.

“I really enjoyed singing for you and writing this song for you.”

“I loved it. Thank you so much!” Carla, the bride, said before turning towards Valerie, standing on the side. “If it were not for Valerie, I would have missed a singer like you.”

Valerie didn’t say anything about that and just smiled. Then, both she and the couple left to talk with other guests after thanking him again and telling him to enjoy the party.

‘Work is done. It’s time to eat food!’

Aiden thought excitedly. Today was a great day for him. Thanks to the silver light, he earned good money and saw that his skills were improving. Moreover, he would be able to post another song on MeTube, making him get more money.

Because of all this, he felt like his financial struggles would calm down a bit for a while.

It was then that he heard his phone ringing. Taking it out, he saw that it was an unknown number. He accepted the call and an unfamiliar voice resounded in his ears.

“Hello, Is this Aiden Silvereye?”

“Yes, I’m Aiden.” He asked, wondering who had called him.

“I’m speaking from Zero International regarding the audition that you did for [Shadows of war].”

That sentence was enough for him to get nervous and closely listen to the call.

“What happened? What is the result?”

He asked, with a bit of restlessness in his heart while praying that the results weren’t negative this time.

“About thatโ€ฆ”

The guy on the other side of the call started speaking, and as Aiden listened, an anxious expression appeared on his face.

“This isn’t working out. Don’t you have any better songs?”

In Los Angeles, a man whose hair was completely dyed in white said as he looked at the buff guy in front of him. The white-haired guy had tattoos all over his arm, and he was just wearing a t-shirt with black pants.

“We tried everything. Tried to get some songs from famous producers. But nothing seems fit to you. Why don’t you try working with guys you have worked with before? We need something big for your comeback, Grey.” A man in a suit beside him sighed.

The white-haired guy named Grey shook his head hearing that. He didn’t want to work with those people; he wanted to try something different.

“I need something unique to my music. These days, all my old songs sound the same to me. Jason, maybe, try to look for some Spanish guys? Their songs are catchy.”

The man in the suit was Jason. He thought for a bit before nodding his head.

“I can try. No guarantee. We need to do something big for your comeback single.”

Jason was actually the manager for Grey, an award-winning pop star who was very popular. He had topped the charts in several countries with his songs and was regarded as one of the best in the genre.

But he hadn’t released anything for two years and was looking for a comeback.

It wasn’t easy though. Grey needed a song that connected to him. But he hadn’t found anything in the trial tracks he had heard till now.

They all sounded catchy, but he knew that there was already a lot of music like that. This time, he wanted to make something that could touch the hearts of his fans.

“You can also try to look for something that’s not very popular.” Jason suddenly suggested.

“Like what?”

“Like songs from indie artists which are good but don’t get enough exposure. We can buy it and remix it for you.”

Grey didn’t hate the idea and, in the end, just nodded. Jason has a good sense of music and ideas, and this was very important to his rise as a top artist.

“Okay, I will try to see what I can get in that. Though, I don’t think they will be too good.”

“You underestimate the talent people have. You were kind of like that, too, back in the day. If the Neu entertainment didn’t come across you performing at a college event, you might still be an indie artist today.”

“It was luck, but you also need the talent to go ahead. Not like there aren’t singers who get picked up by labels and never make it big.” Grey said in a bit complacent tone. He was proud of what he had achieved.

Not commenting on that, Jason just said.

“Anyway, I will send you whatever is popular in the indie scene these days. Let’s hope we find someone good.”
