Versatile Superstar: Rise In Hollywood

Chapter 087.Revolution

After AnimeRoll selected ‘Revolution’ for the title track, Aiden and his whole band celebrated the night. These days, he felt like a lot of good things were happening.

From winning an award to this. So, Aiden subconsciously got on a guard, wondering how long his good luck would accompany him.

The next day, Wade gathered the whole band and told them that now that the company had selected the song, their work had just begun as busy days awaited them.

The very first thing they did was to sign the contract as a band. As Aiden was the composer and the vocalist, he got the highest percentage of profits generated from the song. Though, a lot was also taken by Animeroll.

Both Wade and Aiden knew that this is how the corporate world worked, so they weren’t hung up on the profits.

In the first place, Aiden was excited about the opportunity due to it being a chance to make himself more popular by taking the help of the momentum created by the anime.

In the next few days, he and the whole band worked hard with the music director in Animeroll to make a better studio version for ‘Revolution’.

Aside from that, they also needed to practise together, and as soon as the song was going to be released, they would go to many events and programs to promote the title track and the anime.

The PR team at Animeroll was mainly relying on MeTubers and anime forums to create interest in [Attack for Freedom].

“Move a bit left. Right there. Yes, now, give a smile! No, not like that!”

An Asian photographer instructed Emily as she posed in front of a green screen. She had a stiff expression on her face as she had not done this before.

It took her a while and a few scoldings from the photographer before she could give out a good smile.

“How much more time do you think it will take?”

Aiden asked, glancing at Wade. It was already two hours since they were at the cover photo shoot for ‘Revolution’.

“One more hour, I guess.”

Jackson, sitting on a chair on the left, frowned hearing that. They had practice after this too, so their schedule already looked packed.

“It looks like we ain’t getting any free time soon.” Aiden chuckled, shaking his head.

“It’s all good until the song works. We will release it tomorrow, and the marketing has already begun. We are expecting good numbers as it’s talked a lot about in forums and social media sites among some groups.”

Hearing that, Jackson made a strange expression.

“Don’t most anime fans don’t want anything to do with the dubbed version?”

“That’s a common perception due to how bad some dubbed anime is. Sometimes they even change a lot of meanings to suit the American audience but ruin the whole scene. But it doesn’t mean that they are not people who watch anime in dub.”

“Even if people don’t like dubs, they still talk bad about it. Negative publicity is a thing.”

Aiden added. They were going for people to see their song even if they needed to rely on things like negative publicity.

They were able to do it just because of the confidence they had in it.

“There are always people who talk bad stuff in forums, but that just makes others curious about them, and they check it out. Our song is good, so we just need to get a person to click on it.”

Wade explained, and Jackson couldn’t help but nod. He knew that the studio version had come out very good, and even the live practice was going great.

As Aiden refrains from using too much autotune, his voice sounds pretty much the same in live performance and studio.

“What’s the estimate?” Aiden asked this time, moving his hand to take out a water bottle.

“Anything around 5 million views in a week is perfect. On the charts, we are lucky if it debuts in the top 30. The anime fans will stream it automatically if they like the songs. They are almost like those Korean idol stans — they don’t care about eating or sleeping but will systematically stream songs to get it higher in the charts.”

Aiden awkwardly laughed hearing that. K-pop stans were pretty scary to him as he had heard a lot about them.

“So, we can expect good numbers.” Jackson took a sigh of relief.

“Yes, until something unexpected happens.”

“I think we will be in trouble.”

Suddenly, Cameron walked toward him with a hardened expression, like he had seen something terrible. In his hand he was holding his phone.

“What happened?” Aiden asked.

“Imagine Giants are releasing their new single next week. Sparrow is buzzing with the announcement.”

Aiden and Jackson widened their eyes, hearing that, while Wade muttered, ‘Fuck’. The situation was suddenly not looking too good.

They quickly took out their own phones and searched about it. It was already trending on Sparrow at 14th place.

Imagine Giants was a huge band, most popular in America, but their influence was tremendous here, with a lot of their songs being at the top of the charts for weeks, if not months.

“Why are they suddenly releasing their single?” Wade asked with a frown. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

“The official press release said they have been preparing for a while now and just wanted to surprise their fans, so the announcement and promotions are starting just a week before the release.”

“They must be pretty confident.”

Cameron nodded gravely at Aiden’s words. Things weren’t looking so bright suddenly.

“We don’t have to worry too much. The song could fail too.”

Jackson said, but Wade quickly clicked his tongue.

“They are releasing a music video. They won’t do it if they think the song will fail. Even if it did, it would easily get 20-30 million views. That’s the power of their fandom and reputation. Most people in America have heard of them at least.”

“It seems like hard times await us.”

Aiden muttered after hearing Wade’s words. Just when he thought things were going great, something like this had to happen.

‘It would take something truly unexpected to overtake them now.’

He thought, frowning inwardly and feeling a headache brewing.

The next day, ‘Revolution’ was finally released.

Animeroll did a lot of marketing from it, but they weren’t a record label but an animation studio, so it obviously lacked compared to something like Neu entertainment.

The song debuted at 46th position in Melody’s top 50 new singles chart.

It wasn’t an insufficient number as Animeroll marketing focused more on word of mouth and spreading the song with the help of anime forums. It was also working as the next day when the charts were updated, and the song shot up.

The same happened on the next day and the very next day.

[Revolution by Dreamers – 39th]

[Revolution by Dreamers – 33rd]

[Revolution by Dreamers – 27th]

Like that, it got more and more attention as the days went by, and the song even managed to enter the top 20 at the end of the first week.

This was not bad at all, as no one had heard about a band named Dreamers, but the views on MeTube and Melody were steadily rising with a lot of talk on online forums.

On Zenya, a famous online forum, a famous user named ‘Zhanye69’ released a post titled [Aiden Silvereye, Dreamers and the making of a great title track.]

The post started by asking if anyone had heard the song ‘Revolution’ by the band named Dreamers. Then, went on to post in a detailed manner about how the band had come to be.

For context, the post said that he frequented The Rabbit hole, where the whole band Dreamers would often be found.

There he had learned how Aiden had formed Dreamers to make a good title track for [Attack for Freedom].

It even posted about the band’s previous achievements and how all the members were from X-Star, and there were a lot of possibilities that Aiden made a band just for a song.

There was even mention of Aiden’s acting career, making the post look heavily researched.

In the end, it talked about how the song was one of the best title tracks for any anime to be composed in the last few years.

Zhanye69 ended the post by saying, “I have not heard of Aiden or Dreamers before hearing about the song, but I think the song he made is perfect, and as true anime fans, we need to ensure that it doesn’t drown in the sea of songs and have its own identity.’

In just a day after the post was released, it got more than 40k likes and over 4k comments, making it one of the hot posts in the forum.

[Family jewels protector: I didn’t know about this song or the band before this. Thanks for the post. Will check out the song for sure.]

[Anime fan: I didn’t even know they were going to release an English title track for [Attack for Freedom]. They should have just gone for the original track, but I need to say, the new one is perfect too.]

[Love me like a hurricane: I love Revolution more than the original. It motivated me to punch my boss, and now, I’m free!]

[Chubby hubby: I loved Revolution a lot too. I really hope it gets its due. The song is easily one of the best I have heard in a long time.]

[I need a porn system: I never heard of this band, but it sounds cool. Will check it out!]
