Chapter 666: Game of Calamity
Chapter 666 – Game of Calamity
Although the explanation was vague, no one bothered asking Mu-Nyang another question. They simply waited for his commands as they had no power to veto.
Mu-Nyang began pointing to the crowd.
“Meng Xin, Joshua, Miaomiao, and Trumpet Alliance will be a part of 1,000 members, munya. As for the rest of the sentinels and residents of yours, they will be considered as a part of your fighting force, so they can come along, munya!”
Wei Yuan, Mao Xueyan, Lilith, Xie Tian, and others were relieved. At least, they could participate in this event as Miaomiao’s supporters.
However, the restriction troubled them. If Miaomiao couldn’t leave the homeworld during the event period, their actions and roles in this war would be limited.
Mu-Nyang turned to Miaomiao.
“Since you’ll probably have extra time after the game starts, I suggest you get used to the new systems, munya. The power of necromancy, Kingdom Building, NPC system, Player System, and auto-pill making System can be in handy. Master them and get ready to fight sages, munya.”
Miaomiao nodded.
…
After Mu-Nyang encouraged and briefed everybody, he directly teleported all participants to another star.
When Miaomiao could see things again, he found himself on grassland with nothing but cultivators from Mu-Nyang’s side.
Surprisingly, Adam and his elves came as well. Several catopuses and Cathulhus sat in groups and looked around while sages and unrestrained sages from Mu-Nyang’s side hovered in the sky.
Next to Adam and Fu Daotian, two unique-looking sages approached Miaomiao’s group and greeted them.
“Greetings, Lord Mu-Nyang.”
They didn’t greet Miaomiao. On the other hand, they saluted the cat on top of his head.
Mu-Nyang was still sitting on Miaomiao as if the latter was his throne. He waved his paw at Fuxi and Nuwa.
“At least, you have good eyes, munya. You’ve picked the right side. Oh, Miaomiao. Let me introduce you to your allies, munya. This is Fuxi and Nuwa, the sages that have decided to join us.”
Miaomiao humbly cupped his fist and bowed, “Mao Miaomiao greets senior Fuxi and Nuwa. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Fuxi laughed, “Don’t be humble. You’ll be our side’s King, so you should be a bit more dignified.”
“But I’m a lowly 4-star stellar constellation immortal.”
“Correction. A 4-star immortal sage.”
“…”
Miaomiao wryly smiled. It seemed that these two sages had learned about him from Mu-Nyang even though he had never shared the secret of this cultivation method with anyone.
“We’ll be counting on you if sages manage to slip through our net and get to you,” Fuxi patted Miaomiao’s back.
“I’ll do my best,” Miaomiao bitterly smiled.
…
The sages chatted with Miaomiao for a while, asking the latter about his preparation and cultivation techniques. They also created a sound dome, hiding the information from their allies and others, including Miaomiao’s wives.
RUMBLE
While Miaomiao, Mu-Nyang, Fuxi, and Nuwa had been chatting and briefing about their plans in secret, a rain dragon carried a group of people toward them.
Venti, the Azure Dragon God, brought his men and his incarnations to join Mu-Nyang’s side!
Miaomiao looked up and recognized the familiar-looking Azure Dragon. He was relieved to see the guys on the dragon’s back.
Ma Moxi and Ku’er came with the dragon. However, his grandfather and uncle didn’t come.
Still, a hundred dragonewts rode on Venti’s back and accompanied Ma Moxi. It seemed that they had quite an adventure or a story to tell.
As soon as Ma Moxi landed on the planet, he rushed to Miaomiao, who was hanging out with Fuxi and Nuwa.
Ma Moxi knelt and cupped his fist.
“Your loyal subject has come to repay for your kindness!”
Mu-Nyang disabled the sound protection array and let this protagonist meet Miaomiao. The latter helped Ma Moxi up and inspected his cultivation progress.
Surprisingly, Ma Moxi’s aura had the signature of a pseudo sage!
“Aren’t you on Hongjun’s side? Why are you here, Moxi?”
“I returned the soul treasure to Hongjun and cut ties with him. Actually, I fought with Hongjun, and… my family suffered because of me,” Ma Moxi lowered his head as if he was ashamed of something.
Venti flew closer to the group. He let his men land on the planet and transformed into a dragonewt. Then, he explained.
“Hongjun wanted us to assassinate you during the game, but Ma Moxi refused. He cut ties with Hongjun and returned his treasure, and we thought that would have been the end of it. But then, Jade Sage, Jade Emperor, and Eve’s men ambushed us. Moxi’s entire family except for Ku’er was all killed.”
“…”
Ma Moxi got stuck in the bad ending route as well. Everybody here was manipulated and betrayed by the sages.
Miaomiao looked at Ku’er, who was now a refined fox lady. Her fluffy nine tails fluttered, but she merged them into one tail, hiding her aura.
Like Ma Moxi, Ku’er was also a pseudo sage.
“You guys are crazy. I tried so hard, but I’m still an immortal while you all become pseudo sages.”
Venti shook his head, “Don’t think of it that way. Moxi and Ku’er went through hell and almost died over a hundred times already. You have no idea what realm and worlds they had gone through before they got back here.”
Ma Moxi winked at Miaomiao, “Technically, I’m now as old as Devil.”
“Hou?”
“You could say that I traveled to other parallel dimensions other than this Primordial Chaos Realm. I lived as someone else’s lives a few million times.”
Miaomiao understood what Ma Moxi had referred to. It seemed that he had inherited several powerful people’s lifetime memory, so he bragged about his real age.
“What about your stealth abilities? Can you still use the old techniques?”
Ma Moxi shook his head, “I’ve changed my battle style. I don’t need to hide anymore.”
“I see.”
While Ma Moxi and Miaomiao caught up with their past experience, the sound transmission of Pangu reached everybody’s ears.
‘Ahem. Welcome, all contestants of Mu-Nyang and the representatives of Heavenly Dao Universe. I am Pangu, the co-host of this last calamity of our universe.’
Everybody stopped chatting and checked their new planet.
‘I’ll explain the rules of the game. We have three factions here – Mu-Nyang’s Faction, Heavenly Dao Universe Faction, and Player Faction. The first two factions come with 1,000 representatives, their sages, and their soul sentinels. As for the Player Faction, 100,000 level-500 players have already joined our universe, but they have no idea about us yet.’
Miaomiao and people from Mu-Nyang’s side clicked their tongues.
Bullshit!
The players and Heavenly Dao Universe were in it together. They must have already joined forces.
‘In this game, each faction has a King, and only their Kings can develop or build defensive structures of their worlds. In exchange, these Kings cannot leave their homeworld regardless of the situations!’
Miaomiao widened his eyes. He understood why Mu-Nyang wanted him to check Liu Bian’s Kingdom Building System and his necromancy skills.
Develop defensive structure?
This was obviously a kingdom building game!
‘The only way to win the game is to eliminate both kings of the rival factions. However, for the sake of fairness, no sage, deity, or immortal may directly travel between worlds to attack your opponents. Instead, everybody has to travel through the battleground continent and gates.’
A massive portal appeared in a distance. It was at least one kilometer tall, and the width was large enough to shove an entire Tokyo Dome Stadium in there.
WHOOM
Suddenly, a large system screen appeared in the sky, and everybody could see it.
The sages and deities in the sky shrank and descended to the ground. They also looked up to see what the announcement was.
The screen showed a satellite map of a triangle continent with three gates on each corner. The continent was so diagonal that it looked too artificial.
However, the map was imperfect. There was nothing between the three gates.
Everything was simply a flat grassland!
‘The battleground realm is the medium of the three worlds. The King of each faction may send their chess pieces and subordinates here to defend, attack, or secure your territory. Of course, only the Kings, King Pieces, and Queen Pieces of the Kings can build structures on the medium continent.’
Pangu switched the image and showed a familiar-looking tower.
Miaomiao and everybody from Siren City narrowed their eyes. It was the good-old pylon tower!
‘But before you can construct anything, you must construct additional pylons! The pylon’s authority coverage range is one kilometer. Only the buildings inside the pylon’s coverage radius can be built. If you build anything outside the pylon’s coverage range, they will be automatically destroyed.’
In short, Pangu had turned this game into a real-time strategy game. It reminded Miaomiao of StarCraft and Command & Conquer Series.
‘While the Kings have their duties, the sages and representatives may move freely. You are free to raid your rival factions if you’re prepared.’
Mu-Nyang snarled while Lilith scoffed. They would have been stupid had they mobilized everyone to attack one of the factions without a thorough plan. After all, the players and Heavenly Dao’s faction could simply steamroll them with their superior number.
‘Now that you have a vague idea of what you can do, let me explain the detail of this game. Kings, please listen carefully since this directly involves you.’
Everyone looked at Miaomiao, who broke a sweat from the pressure.
Lilith and Adam walked up to Miaomiao. They patted his back, “We’ll help you. In case you don’t remember everything, we’ll jot it down and explain to you later.”
“Don’t treat me like a stupid high-school student, dude.”
Lilith and Adam laughed.
Meanwhile, Pangu continued.
‘Each day, each faction generate 1,000 Dao Stones by default. Dao Stone will be the currency that all Kings need to construct their Kingdom’s buildings and facilities, including Pylon Towers!’
Miaomiao widened his eyes and glanced at Mu-Nyang.
Mu-Nyang winked at him as if he mocked Miaomiao with his eyes.
“I gotchu, munya! Everything is according to Keikaku, munya.”
“…”
Miaomiao opened his system to check his strange assets. He had PACTs, which was a cryptocurrency.
He had plenty of Dao Stones with him!
