Chapter 707 – Final Revelation of All Conflicts
WHOOSH!
Eve returned to her spawning area. She widened her eyes and sat up in a panic.
The lingering pleasure and the brainwashing effect lingered in her mind. Moreover, her lower belly continued to convulse and tremble, producing transparent juice and leaking them from her lower mouth.
Eve slowly regained her sanity as the fountain removed Miaomiao’s brainwashing curse. She got back on her feet.
“MAO MIAOMIAO!”
Eve was never been this angry before. When she broke up with Devil, Eve never lost her composure. But now, she wanted him dead.
Before Eve rushed out, Hongjun sent a voice transmission and warned her.
‘Don’t lose your temper because of a setback. Focus on your priorities first before you think of the personal gains and agendas. You can kill or torture him after we win this game!’
Eve turned around and looked up to see her master. She gritted her teeth and stomped away, not willing to accept Hongjun’s advice.
‘Eve! Control yourself! You’re being cursed by the protagonist’s luck, and your intelligence is being affected! You will doom us all!’
At that moment, Eve’s feet stopped. She widened her eyes as if she had remembered something. Then, she touched her belly.
Strangely, Miaomiao’s seeds remained inside her. The game system included the sperm as a natural cell in her body, and it only erased Miaomiao’s curses from them.
As Eve sensed the white liquid in her womb, her woman hormone kicked in. She blushed and wetted her skirts and panties.
‘Good. Now, listen to me. Anyone who fights protagonists of the current age, such as Ma Moxi, Xie Tian, Meng Xin, or Mao Miaomiao, will have their intelligence degrade!’
Interested in the subject, Eve stopped and turned back to Hongjun.
“Tell me more.”
‘I’ll explain more, but we are racing against time. You should go and kill minions to increase your cultivation base’s rank. While you’re at it, I’ll tell you everything.’
“…”
Eve nodded in agreement. She turned toward the bottom lane of her faction, where Ke Lin Ji had been monopolizing. It was the time to teach that player a lesson.
As Eve rushed out, Hongjun’s long-range sound transmission continued.
‘In ancient time, before Chaos Seraphim Mu-Nyang died, he cursed Pangu and all living beings in Primordial Chaos Realm, Chaos Realm, and future realms.’
Hongjun kept on talking.
‘The curse has been with us since the beginning of the new era under Lord Pangu’s lead. Every million years, a new batch of protagonists emerged and vied for supremacy and the titles of great dao sages. They came in various forms and possessed irregular power that could destroy Sage Realm and Chaos Realm!’
Eve thought of when she was born together with Devil, Lilith, Adam, Uranus, and Gaia. She wondered if they were protagonists as well.
‘Because of the newly emerged “Protagonists”, genocides and chaos broke out wherever they went. Their entities degraded everybody’s sanity and intelligence, forcing them to either resist or submit to them. Fortunately, Lord Pangu and his clansmen slaughtered every protagonist and suppressed their luck every time they emerged. However, all his clansmen were cursed by the protagonist’s karma, and their cultivation stopped advancing! Anybody that killed them more than once, their luck vanished, and they became nothing more but a cannon fodder or pebble in the universe! I also killed one, and I am still cursed by this karma. Because of this curse, I lost my right to ascend to the Creator Stage!’
“So that’s why you manipulated non-sages to hunt protagonists in your stead.”
‘We created Heavenly Dao Universe as a quarantine to trap Mu-Nyang’s curse in one place. All sages utilized time loop techniques to learn their growth, adventure, and goals they tried to achieve. Then, we manipulated and pitted them against each other. We managed to make them curse each other and ended their status as protagonists. Every time a generation of protagonists died, we moved on to the next generation and extended to Heavenly Dao Universe’s age by another million years. The loop range got longer as we killed more protagonists, but the curse never ended.’
“…”
‘Lord Pangu and I figured that this trend couldn’t continue or we all would be eventually cursed and self-destructed. He decided to take over one origin planet of a protagonist, but he ended up being cursed as well. Because of the curse, his true body got stuck in that world forever, and he could only use his avatar to communicate and help us.’
…
Divine Theocracy Earth
In a humble 100×80 3-story house in the middle of Beijing, Miao Damao leaned on his couch, humming as everything went according to his master’s plan
Pan Mei went missing along with 99 players, including the protagonist of this world, Hiiro Narukami. It was a matter of time before Pangu’s men would kill Hiiro and end up being cursed by karma.
While Miao Damao was chilling and taking his time off on Sunday afternoon, Katerina brought a can of beer and a plate of spicy chicken wings for him.
“Having fun?”
Miao Damao laughed, “Yes. The game is one-sided. Lord Mu-Nyang’s subordinates are stomping.”
“So, can we kill Pan Xian soon?”
“No.”
“Bummer. Why prolong the inevitable?”
“Revenge, Kat. Revenge. How many times did he kill us in the previous loops, remember? Now that we got the upper hand, we won’t let him die that easily!”
“Will this cause trouble for our Xiaomao?”
“Definitely not. He won’t die a vain death again. He IS among the next batch of protagonists after Mao Miaomiao’s generation!”
“I hope he will do well in this life.”
“Oh, he’s doing well. He will do JUST FINE!”
Miao Damao burst into laughter. He still remembered the day his son panicked and rushed downstairs, asking what year it was. That was a huge flag of a protagonist.
…
Primordial Chaos Realm
While Hongjun taught Eve about the ancient past and the motive behind all chaos in his universe, Pangu helplessly glared at Mu-Nyang.
Pangu was on the verge of going insane. He kept losing control of his game world, and his real body was in danger. Moreover, his son was trapped as a hostage because of Mu-Nyang’s ban system, which ruined his game plan.
He knew why everything happened this way.
Mu-Nyang himself was the original and the oldest protagonist! The curse also affected both of them, and Pangu had already been cursed since the day Mu-Nyang, the Chaos Seraphim, was killed.
“You aren’t being fair, Mu-Nyang. You had everything before you died. Now, you’re taking everything from me again!”
Mu-Nyang’s avatar had reverted back to his Cathulhu form. He sat on a massive sun, grinning and laughing at Pangu.
“My revenge will not be so simple, munya. I’ve been through quadrillion years of endless looping and witnessing the death of my descendants. It’s your turn to suffer the same fate, munya! I’m not going to kill your true body, but I’ll kill whoever you care about, whatever you created, and whichever you want to protect. You will end up as a lonely helpless mortal with no Qi, no power, no friend, no family – NOTHING, MUNYA!”
“You think I won’t go crazy and kill your children and your family as well, Mu-Nyang?!”
“If you want your cultivation base to degrade, go ahead, munya. One more kill and you’re a great dao sage. After that, I will enjoy torturing you for eternity, munya.”
Mu-Nyang’s laughter echoed throughout Primordial Chaos Realm. He flickered his fingers and destroyed a planet of Mazinger Race, one by one.
Karma curse struck Mu-Nyang as well. However, he appeared to be unaffected. On the contrary, his aura became sinister, and his presence grew larger.
“You villain!”
“Wrong, munya. I’m a villain cultivator, who cultivated a villain, who was originally a fallen protagonist, to kill other fallen protagonists, who fell into the path of villains, and then evolved the villain into a true protagonist to kill you villains, who tried to kill protagonists, munya!”
“…”
…
Chaos Realm Faction, Hostage Zone
Devil was bored. She sighed and closed her eyes as she had failed Mu-Nyang’s assignment.
Mu-Nyang had ordered her to go after the Player Faction first, and she didn’t need to worry if Heavenly Dao Universe managed to win. In the end, it was about destroying Player Faction.
Because of the task, Mu-Nyang had told her a secret about why Pangu and sages were so obstinate in preventing her, Xie Tian, Kishin Douji, and fellow protagonists from becoming a sage.
In the end, there was a hidden agenda. Devil was so shocked when she heard about it the first time.
‘Chaos Seraphim’s Curse of Protagonist.’
As new protagonists emerged every million years, Pangu and sages trapped everyone under the sage stage in the Heavenly Dao Universe. They tricked every protagonist to kill each other, and Devil was fooled as well. He ended up killing Xie Tian, Kishin Douji, Lu Fengxian, and many other protagonists several times, and she was also affected by Mu-Nyang’s grand curse.
Now, Devil understood why she could never ascend and become a sage. It was the curse that hindered her progress, and her status as a protagonist was removed because of the repeated loop.
But then, there was Miaomiao, an irregular of all irregular protagonists. He started out as a clone of Devil and was born with a curse. Thus, Miaomiao was destined to be stupid and had bad luck forever.
However, Devil didn’t understand. By this logic, Miaomiao shouldn’t have had any luck with him, and Dion shouldn’t have been born. Yet, Miaomiao managed to find Killer Queen and killed Xie Tian.
After killing Xie Tian, Miaomiao’s luck should have been at the rock bottom because of Mu-Nyang’s curse. But then again, as if Miaomiao was a cancerous cell that evolved from Devil’s collective curses and negative karma, he overcame all odds and stole Xie Tian’s remaining luck.
Miracles after miracles kept happening with Miaomiao of this loop. Regardless of whoever tried to manipulate him, he always negated curses, destinies, and ill fates. Like an overly lucky protagonist, he breezed through every ordeal without trouble. People kept showing up to help him or become his prey.
Devil laughed when she recalled how Miaomiao negated fates and never finished any tournament, war, trials, or random events like other protagonists. He never went through all rigorous adventures, face-slapping scenes, or being in a desperate situation. Instead, he hid behind the protagonists and his friends, leeching off their luck and fates.
‘What a pimp. He leeched his way and ended up as a new Chaos Seraphim. Now, I want to study how he manages to resist the protagonist’s curses. If I remember correctly, he killed Xie Tian and others in the other loops, too, but all curses fell on me instead. If that’s the case, I was never a protagonist but a side character. Then, a side character can give birth to a real protagonist. Is that the case here?’
The more Devil thought about it, the more she was baffled by the incomplete and non-template development. If Mao Miaomiao was really a protagonist of a novel, was the author mental? What were these convoluted and unnecessary plots?
