Chapter 735: Death Fortress Sword Style and Death Essence
Chapter 735: Death Fortress Sword Style and Death Essence
Chapter 733 – Death Fortress Sword Style and Death Essence
Although Miaomiao had sparred with countless clones in his dantian universe before the great reset, his death essence wasn’t this effective. The last time he used it, it was merely a curse, which depleted one’s lifespan, luck, and fleshly body.
‘What is the difference? Is it because I’m not bound with the universe’s karma?’
Miaomiao got curious. He circulated Death Essence to Killer Queen.
“What are you doing, Miaomiao?” Killer Queen was curious.
“Experimenting. I have a feeling that I haven’t really mastered the DEATH Fortress Sword Style yet.”
“Hoho?”
Miaomiao adjusted his stance into an IAIDO stance. He converted Death Essence into Sword Element. Then, he injected his killing intent and sword intent into Killer Queen.
SHING
Miaomiao horizontally slashed once. The air split and howled as if a thousand people screamed in despair, but it didn’t shoot any wind blade or beam.
Suddenly, Miaomiao had an epiphany. He thought of Jia Shan’s sword domain in his previous life.
“Domain.”
Miaomiao activated his soul domain. But instead of covering everything around him with his force field, his domain covered the sky above the Seal Arrays, forming another sky wall and preventing Kishin Douji’s minions from bypassing the Seal Arrays below.
“Miaomiao, don’t!” Tang Ting shouted as she sensed Miaomiao’s Qi and his intention.
“Keep protecting the refugees. I’ll head out to fight!”
Without waiting for Tang Ting’s response, Miaomiao jetted toward the battlefield.
.
After the monsters got into the Seal Arrays, their level dropped from 900ish to 100. The players cheered as they believed they could kill these creatures for EXP, items, and other rewards.
Players had fun. Every kill gave him a lot of items and EXP. After killing the first wave of orcs, their inventory slots were full, and they were forced to rely on spatial rings, which had a high chance of dropping from their corpse upon death.
However, the invaders put up a fight. As half of the players were under-leveled, they were overwhelmed by the sheer number of orcs and Oni. Soon, they started dying.
Pay-to-win whales didn’t fret. They used expensive cash items to self-resurrect and rejoin the war. As for P2W dolphins, they also consumed resurrection talismans, but they had limited supplies.
On the other hand, P2W Nemos and proud free-to-play players were not so lucky. They quickly used up most of their cash shop items and couldn’t contribute a lot like the other whales.
Chase was among the free-to-play group. Even though the price of PACT was now on the low side, he didn’t have many tokens to stock many consumable elixirs and life-saving talismans.
Thus, Chase fought on the backline, sniping the invaders from afar and avoiding risks. Although he wouldn’t get as many items as the melee-type fighters, his EXP gain was steady.
Within an hour into the battle, Chase reached level 100. He was an official 1st-stage cultivator, and he was on his way to the second stage. Many perks were unlocked, but he couldn’t use them at the moment as he needed to awaken his Qi and other attributes by talking to an NPC in a big city.
Chase looked around, wondering if any class-changing NPC was fighting on this battlefield. Then, he spot Miaomiao, who was coming in his direction.
“SENIOR MAO! OVER HERE!”
Chase called for Miaomiao, but the latter ignored him. This mysterious NPC flew into the dark force field above the dome arrays and disappeared.
“Aw, bummer.”
Chase was disappointed. He thought that he might be able to change his class or activate his hidden potential by talking to Miaomiao.
Because Chase lowered his sight, the corner of his eyes noticed a flashing exclamation icon, hovering over a local cultivator’s head.
The NPC was a soldier of the Wu Empire. Coincidentally, he was also once an instructor at a military school.
Chase rushed to the soldier right away. He immediately asked the NPC.
“Sir. Is there a way to awaken my power quickly? I think I’m about to break through, but I’m lacking something!”
The instructor frowned at Chase at first. But then, he suddenly stared at the empty air in front of him in astonishment for a moment. His expression brightened, and he smiled at Chase.
“Good timing. You’ve been working hard, I see. Here, I’ll help you activate your dantian so that you can gather or use Qi more efficiently!”
The instructor poked Chase’s belly with his fingertip. Something hot flowed into Chase’s stomach.
DING
“Wow.”
Chase inspected the detail of each type of Qi.
Life Qi was the mainstay of this cultivation world as it represented the orthodox path. However, its specialties leaned toward defense and longevity. Death Qi prioritized destruction and pure offense, which boosted a lot of attack power.
On the other hand, Twilight Qi was the balanced one, and it could also command undead creatures. In exchange for the power to overcome Death Qi and Death Essence’s curses, Twilight Qi was weak against Life Qi users, which could be a demerit in the long run as everybody used Life Qi.
Chase wasn’t interested in raising an undead army or being an edgy unorthodox death Qi cultivator. He picked the orthodox path without hesitation.
BOOM
Unfortunately, a stray energy bomb landed next to Chase. He tumbled, and his hand slipped. He pressed on the Death Qi choice by an accident.
DING
“Ah, crap!”
Chase wanted to cry, but he had no tears. He didn’t want to become like one of the emo-protagonist, who only cared about revenge, murder, and the destruction of his opponents. He wanted to enjoy the game normally and meet people!
His skin got paler. His hair, pupils, and fingernails darkened. Now, he looked like a vampire or an undead instead of a regular player.
The instructor raised his brows and shook his head in disappointment.
“Death Qi?”
Chase sighed, “It wasn’t my intention. It just came.”
“Oh, well. That’s probably your natural law. Good luck with that. You might have to rely on people from the dragons from USW or the Mao Clan to train you in the future, though. No one in this empire is using Death Qi but them.”
Hearing about the Mao Clan, Chase was delighted. He saluted the instructor and rushed back to the battle in a good mood.
Instructor Cheng Wu gave Chase a meaningful look. He deeply exhaled and lamented.
“Alas. He is a good kid. Too bad he’s going that path.”
.
In the sky, Miaomiao’s domain of death welcomed all invaders. 100,000 Onis bellowed as they detected the soul domain. They charged toward him.
Miaomiao’s eyes shifted left and right, pinpointing the location of his targets. Then, Killer Queen in his hand vibrated.
SWUA
SWUA
Within a second, Killer Queen slashed the air 1,000 times.
Meanwhile, one thousand giants fell from the sky as all of them were sliced in half. Some were beheaded while many were cleaved from their heads to their groins.
Miaomiao’s right hand and Killer Queen wiggled and left countless afterimages. Every second passed, one thousand flying 9th-stage cultivators were cut down and fell toward the Seal Array below.
Unfortunately, a lone nascent soul cultivator couldn’t stop 100,000 9th-stage monsters alone. Soon, they closed the distance. One of them got into the one-kilometer range and activated its law domain.
Killer Queen sensed it. She shouted.
“A sage’s law!”
Miaomiao narrowed his eyes, “Eat it.”
“Just target that guy and slice him! His law will be canceled if I get his blood!”
“Roger.”
While they were talking, Miaomiao’s blood was suddenly boiled. The Oni had used a strange law, which evaporated his blood.
“DIE!”
Miaomiao scoffed, “No, you.”
The black feathers on Miaomiao’s wings shone, and 1,000 clones of Miaomiao appeared inside the domain. All of them held replicas of Killer Queen, and they emitted the same aura as the original.
Moreover, a thousand clones started attacking. A million afterimages of sword slashes left a trail of what the clone had done.
Pieces of flesh meat, blood, and innards of 100,000 giants rained upon the Seal Array below.
Miaomiao stared at the dead orcs, Onis, and various kinds of demi-humans. He furrowed his brows.
‘Are they really 9th-stage cultivators with a sage’s power? Why are they so weak?’
He continued with his experiment. He switched the primary energy type to Life Essence. Then, he used the same skill on the new wave of Kishin Douji’s minions.
CLANK
A thousand slashes from the sword domain only grazed a thousand orcs’ skins. Moreover, the feedback from the attack caused Miaomiao to lose 30% of his Life Essence in his feathers as a backlash.
The new orcs laughed as they thought that Miaomiao got tired. They roared and overlapped their law domain with Miaomiao’s death sword domain.
Seeing the result of his experiment, Miaomiao was certain that his Death Essence worked better than Life Essence. His black feather wing let out shrilly noise as he switched his primary energy again.
Once more, Miaomiao repeated the old move, and the clones copied it. Each clone moved once, and another batch of 100,000 9th-stage giants stopped moving before they fell to the ground.
After slaughtering 200,000 9th-stage monsters, Miaomiao dispelled his domain and fled. He had contributed enough.
As for Kishin Douji and immortals, he left them for the others.
.
Divine Theocracy Earth
A black limousine had been cruising in the downtown of Los Angelis, escorting their VVVIP to his hotel. However, along the path, many protesters booed and cursed at the people in the vehicle as if they had committed several crimes.
Local police officers and riot-control officers set up barricades for the car. However, none of them thought positively toward the people inside.
While everybody in this country was glaring, the VVVIP in question had a video call with one of his subordinates, who had been monitoring the second game world.
“We’ve identified Mao Miaomiao’s strength, sir.”
Pan Xian and Pan Mei had been resting in their limousine. He was exhausted after the series of long interviews, and he was not in the mood of entertaining his subordinates.
However, the war of the second world was an urgent matter. He got sobered and focused on his phone.
“How is he doing? Is he a threat?”
“The detail was in the email, sir.”
Pan Xian swiped his phone and inspected the status menu of Miaomiao.
Upon seeing the number and skill list, Pan Xian clicked his tongue. He regretted raising this ingrate clone of Devil now.
The moderator manager continued his report, “His Death Essence is a bane of all living beings, sir. His attack power negates the laws that we planted on the second world. Only Twilight Essence users or undead creatures may have a chance against him. But again, Mao Miaomiao can use three types of essence, so he has no weakness.”
“So, is Kishin Douji going to fail?”
“Kishin Douji fought with Cao Cao and retreated. His army was doing all the work, sir. But he will be fine, sir. The dead monsters are born from our game system. We can reanimate them with our prepared dungeon cores.”
“That won’t be enough. Mao Miaomiao and his allies are growing fast. Where are Hongjun and our men?”
“Hongjun and our allies are residing in the Shu Han Republic, sir!”
“Good. I want you to contact Hongjun, Liu Xuande, and everyone on our side. Tell them to coordinate with monster kingdoms and destroy Wu Empire and USW. Also, tell them to kill all reincarnated wives of Mao Miaomiao before they can reunite!”
“But the economic system of the second world might be collapsed because of the apocalypse scenario, sir.”
“It doesn’t matter. The second world is fated to doom from the start. Crack the karma codes and destroy that world whenever you can! Kill everyone on that planet!”
“Yes, sir!”
They ended the call. Pan Xian leaned back and closed his eyes.
‘Damn Mao Miaomiao. What do I need to do to kill you? I’ve turned all local people into protagonists and secretly implanted sage laws to that world, but you can still find a way to defeat them.’
While Pan Xian grumbled, something landed on the ceiling of the limousine. Then, he heard the sound transmission of the newcomer.
‘Pangu, open the window.’
Pan Xian opened the window on his side, allowing a creature to come in.
A three-eye caracal entered the vehicle. He landed on Pan Mei’s lap and turned toward Pan Xian.
Nya! (I’m back!)
Pan Xian smiled at the caracal monster. This being was none other than the true soul of his creation, Nian. Now, it was serving him as an assassin.
“Did you find Mao Miaomiao’s son?”
