VILLAIN'S RISING

Chapter 69 69. Us Against The World

“Don’t kill them!” Anthony shouted.

“Why the fuck not?!” Rebekah yelled back while jamming her fist into someone’s chest, instantly killing them. “We have warned them! If they still come at us with an intention to kill then they should be ready to get killed!”

Anthony only shook his head in disappointment. That’s not the kind of thinking a Hero should have!

-Woosh!

Dodging a fist to his head, Anthony swirled to his right and punched his opponent in the solar plexus, knocking them out cold.

-Swosh!

-Cling!

Right at that moment, a man whose body looked like metal attacked Anthony from behind.

Anthony calmly flew upward and dodged him. Without giving a chance for his opponent to think, Anthony hopped behind his attacker and landed a chop on his neck. Knocking him unconscious.

Only then did he confront his sister once more. “We have the power to apprehend them without killing! So just avoid unnecessary casualties, please!”

But ignoring her brother, Rebekah activated her Heat Vision and shot a pair of lasers at the man running away from her. Cutting him in half and killing him as he failed to make his escape.

“These guys tried to kill us first, we warned them! We did our work! Even the protocol states that you can kill if your life is in danger!” After everyone was either out cold or killed, Rebekah finally replied to her brother.

“But that’s the point! Our life can never be in danger because we can’t die!” Anthony snapped. “You’re just acting like an animal!”

Shaking her head, Rebekah gave up the thought of making her brother understand her point and started walking away from the scene.

“Wait! Where are you going?!” Anthony questioned from behind.

“You probably don’t want to see me right now because I’m an animal, right?” She replied and was about to fly away when a loud explosion noise rang in her ears..

-BOOM!

Instantly she turned to her brother. “What was that? Did you hear it?”

“Yes! It came from the center of the forest!” Anthony rapidly nodded his head. “Let’s go!”

As soon as he said that, his body levitated off the ground, and like a bullet, he shot toward the source of the explosion sound.

Rebekah activated her Flight ability and instantly followed behind him with a sonic boom.

-Fwoosh!

Anthony may be the strongest of the two siblings but Rebekah was the fast one. Within seconds she caught up to Anthony and even surpassed him.

In a flash, she reached above the center of the forest. Hovering in the sky, she looked down to find the cause of the explosion sound.

However, what she saw left her wide-eyed in disbelief.

“Wh-What is that thing…” In utter shock, those words left her mouth.

She felt a breeze passing through her. It was Anthony. He had just arrived beside her.

She turned her neck and looked at her brother only to find him in a similar state to hers.

His eyes widened and his face twisted. She couldn’t name the expression that was on his face at that moment but she believed it to be a mixture of shock and disgust.

“Rebekah, what is that thing?” After a short pause, Anthony finally spoke.

“I-I don’t know…” Rebekah replied with no idea of what was going on.

And no one could blame them for not knowing what was going on. After all, the scene they saw on the ground was just that disturbing.

On the ground, they saw a humanoid creature, who looked like he was a human but his appearance suggested otherwise, about to kill Iroha Eastfolk, their homeroom teacher.

But that was not the reason they were in shock. The reason for their disbelief was that they felt a connection to that creature.

The moment Anthony and Rebekah’s gaze landed on the creature they felt like they were looking at one of their kin.

The creature was definitely a human, or at least he used to be a human. He had two black horns on his forehead and his eyes were glowing red.

“Those horns… Is he a Demon?” Finally noticing his horns, Anthony made speculation.

“Demon? You mean Progenitor’s Demon?” Rebekah frowned at that question.

“No, father has killed all of the Demons. It can’t be the Progenitor’s.” Anthony shook his head.

“So then what? Did that thing fall from the sky?” Rebekah sarcastically replied. Even at this moment her sass was still present in her tone.

Rolling his eyes, Anthony tried to not start a fight at this moment and calmly responded: “I think it’s a Demon made by that new Progenitor father was telling us about.”

Rebekah couldn’t help herself from gritting her teeth after hearing those words.

‘What is that idiot doing?! This was not the plan!’ she thought to herself before deciding to confront him once all this was over. ‘If this little stunt of yours ends up hurting my brother in any way then you will pay Sam Gracefell!’

“Come on, let’s go save her first!” Anthony stated before calling off his Flight ability and dropping to the ground.

*

“So you are saying, Sire, that you created a Demon?”

“It’s more of a test than an actual product. I wanted to see what its potential and can it actually be proven lethal to Willburns?”

Lucas and Sam were walking their way through the forest to the sound of the explosion.

When they heard it, Sam instantly knew that the battle was about to end. He also knew that the Willburn siblings must’ve heard it too.

So they were on their way to see if Sam’s Demon can actually make a scratch on Willburns or not?

“I see. By the way Sire, what will you do if that Rebekah confronts you about this matter?” Lucas asked, genuinely curious for his Sire’s reply.

“I’ll play dumb.” Shrugging shamelessly Sam replied.

“…” Lucas was too dumbstruck to question anything else but he still asked his mind. “Do you really think she will buy it?”

“Of course, she won’t. But she has no choice.” Shrugging again Sam spoke with a cheeky smile. “To kill her father she needs me and my power. I’m not the only one in a bind here.”

(Also with the new power you just acquired from that boy, combined with your legion of Demons, you can fight toe to toe with her!)

Hearing those words, a sudden realization hit Sam.

‘By the way, how did you know what that ability was? You’re me so you should know what I know but I had never even heard of that ability before…’

(…What are you implying, Sam? This is not the time for these useless topics! And besides, I remember we read it somewhere in some book I think!)

‘Not possible, I possess a perfect memory. I can’t forget anything.’ Shaking his head, Sam refuted.

(I don’t know, man! I don’t know why you don’t remember! What are you getting at?!)

‘Nothing nothing, I was just confused why I couldn’t recall knowing that ability when you clearly knew about it.’ Sam replied calmly. ‘You don’t get worked up, maybe I’m just overthinking again.’

(Yes you are. Remember, we have only got each other! It’s us against the world! I’ve gotten us through our childhood right?)

‘…Yes.’

(Yes! And I will get us through this too! We will achieve our goal and create a perfect world for us! All you need to do is trust me and fight! So tell me, will you fight for us?!)

‘Yes!’

“Sire, look.”

(Good! It’s us against the world. Remember that!)

“Sire! Look!”

At that moment, Sam felt someone grabbing his tee-shirt by the collar, stopping him in his tracks and shaking him out of his thoughts.

“What is it?” Turning to face Lucas, Sam frowned.

“Look over there!” Pointing in the woods, Lucas asked him to check something out.

Shifting his gaze to where Lucas was pointing, Sam’s lips curled into a smirk.

“Oh well, I’ll be damned!”

The scenery that Sam witnessed felt like ecstasy to him. He never thought he would be able to witness a scenery like this so soon!

In front of him, in the woods, Rebekah and Anthony were fighting Albert. What’s more, Albert was going toe to toe with both of them at once!

“Do we try to apprehend him too, big brother?” Rebekah mocked while dodging a punch.

“Focus!” Anthony yelled while dodging a blow to his face himself by hovering in the air like a fly.

“Ghuaaaaa!” Like an annoyed and angry beast, Alber let out a deafening roar that shook the surroundings.

Anthony, who was levitating in the air, rushed at him and slammed his knee into his face.

Albert, with incredible speed, blocked his knee by grabbing it and pulled him closer using his grip.

Anthony tried to flee back but for the first time in his life, he felt like he was being overpowered.

-Thwack!

A punch landed right in between Anthony’s eyes. But that wasn’t the end of the assault!

“Brother!” Rebekah tried to move in closer to save her brother.

But before she could do anything, Albert swung Anthony’s body like a rag doll and hit Rebekah with it. The force of the hit sent her flying a few steps back.

After flying for a few seconds, her body skidded on the ground before coming to a halt. Trails were carved into the soil and followed where she was lying on the ground.

Without waiting, Albert gripped Anthony by his knee harder and slammed him to the ground.

-Thrash!

A small crater formed on the ground where he slammed Anthony.

“Khuu! Khuu!” Forcefully coughing, Anthony spit out a mouthful of blood. Clearly, he was in no state to drag this fight on any longer.

But Albert had no mercy to spare. Even after rendering Anthony in this state, he didn’t stop.

He wide-opened his mouth and it glowed red along with his eyes. Indicating that he was activating his Laser ability.

However, before it could come down to that, a dominating voice resounded throughout the island.

The voice was like thunder. It made every living being present in the vicinity, including Sam, tremble in shock or fear or both.

“Take your hands off my son!”
