Su Cheng was driving a red Ferrari roaming around the city.

He was not prepared to give up just yet as he planned to persuade Lu Zhaoyang to take up a career in the performing arts, to make money for him. He called Lu Zhaoyang while he was in the city, circumventing Huo Yunting, whom he saw as an obstacle in this case.

“Su… Cheng?” Lu Zhaoyang instantly came to her senses.

Recalling the first time they met in the capital, her blood froze. “How did you get my number?”

“It is not hard to get your number. The pertinent question is: where are you now? Come out and meet up, I promise to send you to Hollywood! How much can you earn working as a secretary?” Su Cheng gradually slowed down his car. “Little beauty, tell me your address. Zhaoyang, little beauty, hello?”

All Su Cheng heard was a disconnect tone. Unbelievable.

Damn it. Did she just hang up on him?

Su Cheng did not give up. He called again.

She had switched off her phone.

It must be the freaking fellow, Huo Yunting. They are probably still in bed, Su Cheng thought to himself.

He decided to give it a shot and called Huo Yunting up instead. He even rehearsed what to say beforehand. “Hey, Brother Ting, I am in town coming to see you. What’s up?”

No, if he said this, Huo Yunting would think something must be wrong with him.

When the call was through, he immediately said with a smile, “Brother Ting, our girl band will perform in the city tonight. I have reserved first row VIP seats for you. Bring your sister along!”

The listless voice of Huo Yunting was heard on the other end. “I am not interested.”

“Hey, brother, don’t hang up just yet!”

Huo Yunting flipped and sat up in bed, leaning against the headboard. “Cut the cackle. What’s up?”

“No big deal. But how can you miss the fun? With 46 girls in the group, there is always one that suits your taste. Not to mention that it is the weekend, you should take your sister out and have fun. Always staying in bed will hurt your kidneys!”

His target was not Huo Yunting but Lu Zhaoyang.

He must persuade Lu Zhaoyang to work for him.

“Brother Ting, why not let your sister join the group, making it a 47-member band? I will make her the group leader and provide her privileged access to all resources. What do you think?”

Huo Yunting flipped open the quilt and got out of bed while listening.

This bugger was only after Lu Zhaoyang; inviting him to the show was just a pretense.

Huo Yunting walked toward the bathroom barefooted. “How dare you try to lay your hands on her?”

“I am not interested in her. Absolutely not!” Su Cheng shook his head. He was distracted and slammed on his brakes, but it was too late; he collided into the car in front. “Jesus Christ, it is all your fault! I ran past the red light and hit someone else’s car!”

“You might as well hit a tree directly; you could have killed someone by running past the red light.” Huo Yunting was in the bathroom now. “Call Huo Li. He will deal with the situation, and you wait there.”

“Brother Ting! Brother Ting—”

There was the disconnect tone again. Su Cheng slammed his fist on the steering wheel, cursing, “Fuck, fuck, fuck! They are both the same!”

The owner of the car in front got out of the vehicle. Su Cheng quickly rang up Huo Li.

It was a tragic day.

After hanging up, Lu Zhaoyang got out of bed, and washed up herself. She did not even dare to switch her phone on again today.

She got her breakfast and planned to continue working. She habitually checked her emails; there was no email from Xiang Jinxi. But just when she was about to log out, a notification popped up in the lower right corner of the screen. She found the sender familiar.
