Chapter 214 We're Pirating
So it was interesting to learn that Delmare actually gets really turned on from hearing me moan.
Apparently she has a fetish of hearing certain sounds and one of it just so happens to be my moans.
Which would kind of explain why she’s so assertive as compared to the others…
Well… I guess everyone has their own kinks and I’m not about to kinshame anyone here.
I was a little worried that things might become a little awkward between all of us but it seems like my fears were unfounded.
Cherith, Ephyra, Diona and Allure behaved as though nothing had happened, though the first three now started looking at me with obvious interest.
Delmare on the other hand, seemed to have embraced her newfound kink. Or at least… Part of her has.
The morning after I took her virginity, she had come up to me to pinch the hem of my cloak while blushing red and looking down to avoid looking at me directly, “Aster… Can we do it again later?”
She looked so cute with her upturned eyes that I couldn’t say no. Not that I would have rejected her anyway.
Today, it was my turn to man the wheel while the other Sirens busied themselves with the rest of the ship. Odeta and Emilia were taking a rest after staying up all night.
I checked the compass to make sure we were still on course.
I was a little surprised to learn that the concept of North, South, East and West exist here and a compass also similarly works here.
At least that allowed me to learn how to navigate the ship easier.
Speaking of which…

I got two new skills, Navigation and Sailing.
I found it odd that I did not see this skill in Emilia or Odeta’s stats earlier but when I went to check again later, they actually had them with Emilia having both skills at Tier three while Odeta only had the Sailing skill at Tier One.
At this point, I kind of guessed how my [Screened] works.
It basically only shows things that I am aware of, including skills and statuses. So if I am not aware that a certain status or skill exists, it may not display it for me. Sort of like more functions of a game getting unlocked as you progress through it.
At least… That’s what I think anyway…
Or it may just be controlled by the gods and they’re the ones choosing what to show me, I dunno…
I put away the compass after ensuring we were on course, going back to watching the waves roll past us as we cut right through them.
I was already expecting another uneventful day when Delmare shouted from the crow’s nest, “Ship ahoy! Umm… Starboard? Is that starboard or port? Ah! Ship off the starboard bow!”
Picking up the spyglass from my side, I spied the horizon looking for the ship that Delmare spotted.
Even with the spyglass, the only thing I could see was a single black speck that may or may not just have been a cloud in the distance.𝑛𝑂𝗏𝗲𝓁𝔫ℯxt.𝒸𝗈𝗆
Still, I trusted Delmare’s eyesight, though there was no need to do anything but maintain our course for now since we were still so far away from them.
Another hour passed before the silhouette of the ship was visible on the horizon, prompting me to take out the spyglass again.
This one was not a pirate ship since the flag they were flying was a yellow flag with symbols that I did not recognise.
“Ring the bell~” I called out to the deck below, prompting Cherith to tug on the rope that would ring a bell on the deck as an alarm.
There were sounds of movement coming from both the captain’s quarters and below deck as the two girls awoke from their slumbers, undoubtedly hurrying to get dressed before coming up on deck.
Odeta came up first before Emilia emerged from her cabin a split second later, both of them wondering what the commotion was about.
“Unidentified ship off the starboard bow~” I called out.
Emilia immediately rushed up to the quarterdeck to join me, taking the spyglass from my hand to look through it.
Her lips curled up into a grin the moment she saw the ship, “Ohohoho~ Today must be my lucky day Aster!! It’s a merchant Carrack ship! And they don’t even have an escort either! Turn to meet them! Full sails!! We’re raiding them!”
I turned the wheel to point our ship in the direction of the merchant ship while the rest scurried about the deck.
“Are we using the same tactic of boarding them again?” I asked.
Emilia shook her head, “Not this time, we’ll see if they cooperate first by firing a warning shot. If they don’t, then we’ll engage them~”
The other ship must have also spotted us as it started to change its course, veering away from us in an attempt to run away.
The Nekomata scoffed, “A Carrack trying to escape a Caravel when the wind is against them? The captain must be a damn amateur! Hard at starboard!”
I spun the wheel as she had instructed, turning the ship until our port was facing towards the merchant ship.
Emilia then went down onto the deck where Odeta had already shoved a cannonball into one of the cannons.
The Nekomata went to the prepared cannon to place her hand on top of it, her eyes locked on the merchant ship that was still quite a distance away from us.
Without warning, she tightened her grip on the cannon and began pouring her mana into the weapon before releasing it, causing the cannon to let out a loud boom as it shot out the projectile at its target.
I watched as the cannonball flew through the air and smashed through part of the deck on the other ship before landing in the water behind it.
Emilia then took out her spyglass again to scan the ship, her face lighting up before turning to me.
“Hard at port Aster! They’ve surrendered! We’re going to board her!”
“They surrendered rather quickly,” I noted, even while turning the ship to chase after the ship.
“Ohohoho~ Do you see the distance between us, Aster? A normal gunner wouldn’t even be able to have the cannonball travel half this distance! Yet, I’ve shown them I can not only outrange them, but I can hit them accurately too~ If I wanted to, I could have just shot down their masts and leave them stranded here~”
That certainly sounds like it would suck.
I manoeuvred our ship to pull up alongside the merchant ship, the Sirens and Odeta throwing grappling hooks over to hook onto the other ship and bringing us closer towards it.
Gathered on the deck were a large group of sailors, all of them with lizard features and also glaring at us when we arrived. I realised these people were Nyarel, the lizardkin of this world.
Of course, all of us had our face scarves or masks up to hide our identities so that no one could see our faces.
“Good day fellow sailors!” Emilia greeted, jumping up on the railing with her sword drawn. “We are only after your goods and not your lives, but if you resist, that can change very quickly~ So if you could all be a dear and bring up your cargo for us, that would be perfect!”
One of the Nyarel, who I guessed must be the merchant leader with how well dressed he looked, stepped forward, his scales and fingers adorned with various pieces of jewellery.
He scowled at Emilia, “Do you seriously think you stand a chance when you are outnumbered right now?”
“Ohohoho~ I assure you that even if every one of you were to attack us right now, we can easily take you all on!”
The merchant smirked, “Oh really? Should we put that to the test?”
Emilia turned back to face us, “Aster? Odeta? Do either of you want to let them know it’s best to cooperate with us?”
Odeta leapt over to their ship with a grunt, “Wahahaha! Let me!”
The Amrap already stood more than a head taller than any of the sailors on the other ship, and some of them gulped when they saw her crack her knuckles.
She went up to one of their cannons and easily lifted it with one hand before crushing the metal and tossing it aside as casually as one would toss some rubbish away, letting it smash into another cannon to smash it as well.
Yeah… If she could crush that thing so easily like that, I’d say those Nyarel skulls wouldn’t stand a chance either.
Emilia smirked at the merchant, “So~ Will you be delivering the goods over or shall we do it ourselves over your dead bodies?”
Needless to say, the merchant agreed to her terms really quickly after that.
