Chapter 791: He's Been Spreading Rumours
The poor girl was still looking off into empty space with a dead look in her eyes even after the girls had finished their performance.
I went ahead to wave my hand in front of her face but that did not get a reaction from her so I had to shake her to wake her up.

“Hey? You ok? Wake up.”
She blinked before her eyes focused again and she slowly turned to me.
“Ah… I’m… I’m ok now… You can let go now…”
I did as she asked and sat back down on my seat, my eyes still watching her closely in case she ‘relapsed’.
As expected, she clutched her face with her hands and groaned into it, her voice muffled by her hands.
I actually felt a little bad for her so I went over to her and started patting her on the back, “There, there… It’s ok. It’s not your fault. Ok, actually it kind of is but well, that’s where you learn from your mistakes, right?”
She looked up at me, “I don’t understand… How are you better than me at this? I’m supposed to be the better one…”
I gave her a pointed look, “Ok, how are you better? Aside from the fact that you made this idol group of yours and started a company of your own?”
She blinked, “What… What do you mean? Isn’t it clearly obvious? I’m a Special Class Student for a reason you know?”
“And so am I, what’s your point?”
She blinked again, “You… You are?”
I frowned at her, “I was seated at the front of the second years you know? The front row seats are for the Special Class students. Did you not see me there?”
“I… I wasn’t paying attention… I was so nervous about the introduction that I didn’t think about it looking at the other students…”
“Ok, even if that was the case, you must have heard about me right?”
“Erm… Yes I did.”
“And you still think that I am not worthy of Delmare after all that?”
Now there was a look of confusion on her face, “E… Eh? It’s precisely because I heard all those things that I thought you were not worthy of her…”
What? Wait… I remember I had a lot of weird titles the last time I checked my own stats using [Screened] and I found out they were given to me by my schoolmates right? So what the hell has she heard that would give her that idea?
Is it because it sounds fake or something?
Wait, wait…
I gave her a serious look, “You do know my name, right?”
She nodded slowly, “You are Aster, right?”
“And I don’t believe you have actually introduced yourself to me, have you?”
She shook her head.
I waited to see if she would introduce herself but she kept quiet, which told me that she wasn’t going to introduce herself to me right now either.
I sighed, “So what have you heard about me?”
“You don’t take classes seriously and you’re frequently absent from school. You also trouble your teachers a lot and you act like you’re some kind of important noble lady when you aren’t.”
I tilted my head at her, “But… I am a noble though?”
Obviously I wasn’t going to tell her that I was the Young Mistress of the Nilm Family but I had invited some of my schoolmates over to the ‘fake’ home outside the capital before so it should be known that I was indeed a child of a noble family.
That’s why I could tell her that without worrying about giving myself away.
Her eyes widened in surprise, obviously only just learning about this for the first time.
I continued, “Also, I don’t really ‘skip classes’, I do my self study since, you know, that’s one of the perks of being a Special Class student. That’s why you saw me in the library today instead of being in class since I find I could learn more if I did that.”
“But… But you make trouble for your teachers…” She muttered.
I furrowed my brows slightly, “Which teacher do I make trouble for?”
“Umm… I think… I heard it was Instructor Henry and… Professor Lisa?”
Suddenly, I felt some things click into place but I had to ask to make sure.
“Who was the one who told you this?”
She hesitated but I guess at this point she must have also started to suspect that the things she heard might not be the truth.
In the end she just told me anyway, “A… Another student in my year was spreading this around… I think his name was Bracca?”
I fucking knew it.
I groaned and pinched the bridge of my nose, “That guy… Ugh… Ok, do you even know what my challenge is for someone to try and claim my position as a Special Class student?”
She shook her head.
“You need to be able to use eight different types of magic before you can even challenge me and then beat me in a duel with it to claim my spot.”
My words made her stare at me in stunned silence for a good moment before she finally recovered enough to speak again.
“Wait… In order to issue such a challenge… Doesn’t it mean you need to be proficient in the same number of magic proficiencies as well?”
I propped up my chin with a hand, “Do you know what classes I skipped today just to stay in the library?”
She shook her head once again.
I held up four fingers, “Hydromancy, Geomancy, Aeromancy and Electromancy. I skipped them because they are still teaching the basics and I’ve already gone past the basics so I do self study instead.”
“Fou… Four?” She asked, referring to the number of magic proficiencies I had listed out.
“On Creday, I have Pyromancy, Umbramancy, Iatromancy and Lumenmancy classes. Sword classes on Resday and finally Alchemy classes on Godsday.”
She started lifting her fingers up one by one, probably counting off the classes I had listed and realised that I was actually learning more than eight different skills.
The girl gaped at me, “N… No way… That can’t be real… How are you proficient in so many skills in just your second year?”
I waved my hand at her, “I entered the school with that many skills already. I did not learn them in my first year.”
“Im… Impossible… That’s impossible…”
I shrugged, “That’s just the fact. Actually, I’m more surprised that you heard about me through Bracca instead of your seniors. I’m pretty sure if you asked any one of them, they would be telling you a different story about me.”
“M… Me? Talking to… A senior for no reason? That’s not going to happen…”
“Hmmm… I guess that’s true. I never talked to any seniors while I was a first year too. But you don’t have a problem talking to Delmare or myself?”
“That’s… That’s something entirely different!”
I waved my hand at her, “I don’t really care, but I just want to tell you that your information about me is completely wrong.”
She then pointed a finger at me, “But… I heard you make trouble for your teachers! That’s definitely true right?!”
I scratched the side of my cheek, “I suppose… That is a little true to a certain extent…”
She actually started to look smug like she had caught a weakness of mine and her chest just started to puff up when I continued.
“I make trouble for Instructor Henry because I’m too strong to fight against my peers in a fair fight since I would decimate them if I fought seriously… The only person I could fight while going all out is Odeta and we sometimes get carried away and break the training field…”
She immediately deflated back to normal, “The… Then… What about Professor Lisa? He said that you always trouble her and that you are a poor student in her class!”
I sighed, “I’m not sure if you are aware but… Bracca has a huge crush on Professor Lisa… And the reason I stay back with Professor Lisa is to receive advanced alchemy classes from her since I’m ahead of her classes. You can ask any of the alchemy students about it and they would tell you that I act as her teacher assistant in her classes to help guide my classmates alongside her.
You think she would ask me to do that if I was such a terrible student like he says I am?”
“Wait… Are you saying that Bracca is spreading these rumours about you… So that you would look bad and he could attract Professor Lisa?”
“Yes. It just happened yesterday, you know? He threatened me when I had to stay behind with her.”
She blinked once, twice, then covered her face with her hands and let out a loud groan.
Just when I thought that I could finally explain to her how wrong she was, she suddenly stood up and ran away while hiding her face.
Err… Ok?
