Chapter 396 Veil of lllusion
Chapter 396 – Veil of lllusion.
The Moon has always been present, only when the sun was gloriously shining in the sky when you didn’t see it.
But it’s always there. Sometimes hiding, sometimes giving the light to the darkness.
The Moon was famously known for its rocky and harsh environment. It seemed inhabited as there was no way anyone could live there without dying.
However, there was a secret City, unknown to the public, hidden underneath the rocky surface of the Moon.
The Moon City was again bustling. The streets were crowded, and City Hall was again filled.
The sky, showing a beautiful starry sky, was shining radiantly, which was the only light the City needed. Then, there were the massive walls, and most citizens never visited there but knew what was on the other side.
The living quarters of Gods and Goddesses!
The Gods and Goddesses mostly live in two places. In God Realm and Moon City.
While the God Realm was a permanent residence for many, Moon City was more of a holiday villa.
Currently, in one of those villas, a beautiful black-haired woman sat gently in the soft grass while watering the plants. Her ethereal-looking body was covered in beautiful blue robes, and the veil she used to wear was hanging from the corner of her hip.
She was Moon Goddess Selene.
Her watering session halted as the whole Moon City suddenly trembled!
The soil on the flower beds quaked, and the trees shook side to side. The starry sky began cracking, and shimmer of moon dust began falling down.
The citizens started screaming in horror. If the ceiling crumbled apart, everyone would get smashed to pieces. That wasn’t the worst thing. If there were some survivors, they would die because they wouldn’t be able to breathe if they returned to Moon’s atmosphere!
Selene instantly took action and moved across the Moon City in a split second. She couldn’t care less about the massive wall and simply flew through it!
She appeared in the ceiling and quickly patched it with a new layer of moon rock, the most indestructible material in the universe.
After the ceiling was secured, Selene saw the cheering crowd of citizens and dozen Goddesses flying toward the exit of Moon City. She rushed after them and followed them as they left Moon City.
Soon, they were out of the underground and could see the beautiful World of Four Seasons in the distance.
Then, everything changed.
The Space began cracking, and the Moon’s surface started to break. At this rate, the Moon would be destroyed, and all life would be lost!
“Everyone, there!” Selene took the lead and pointed toward the other way. In the distance, the Space was weirdly alternating between shapes.
Soon, a veil of illusion that shrouded the World of White was torn apart, and the enormous world came to view that was covered in a layer of clouds!
Selene and the rest of the Goddesses paled in fright.
The veil of illusion hiding the World of White was finally ripped apart!
The veil was the only reason the Demons couldn’t find the World of White and why none of the Human scientists managed to see it!
“Oh no…” The Goddesses looked at each other. They all saw their fear and shock.
“It’s not too late!” Selene’s shout attracted everyone’s attention. She flew across Space and stopped several thousand kilometers away from the World of White. Then, she spread her arms wide and started chanting.
“Illusion, Veil of the Worlds, Activate!”
A miraculous scene appeared. The World of White began slowly fading away. It was like a mask of invisibility was placed around it!
The Goddesses looked shocked and quickly flew across the Space like Selene did. They went to their own positions, and twelve otherworldly-looking Goddesses soon circled around the world, chanting the exact same things.
“Illusion, Veil of the Worlds, Activate!”
Soon, the whole World of White was hidden behind Veil of Illusion, and the Moon’s cracking stopped as it returned to its previous state.
Selene and the rest of the Goddesses fell to the Moon with exhaustion. Once they softly landed on the Moon, they continued lying with relief.
Then, from behind the illusion, a lone figure flew toward the Moon. At first, the Goddesses looked wary until it changed to relief.
God Zeus flew across the Space and landed some meters away from the group of exhausted-looking Goddesses.
“Zeus… What happened?” Selene grabbed her veil and covered her beautiful face with it.
Zeus sighed and began talking about Garmagello. It seemed that his purpose wasn’t to taunt the Gods but instead to break the illusion apart. It wasn’t a surprise that he managed to find out the reason why it was so hard to find that one small world.
The Goddesses looked severe. If one Avatar brought so much trouble, what happens when all Demon Lords and Demon King have gathered?
One Demon Lord, with a real body, has enough strength to shred the illusion to smithereens.
“The illusion was off for a few seconds… Will it help them to find us?” Selene asked. That was also a Question that interested many.
God Zeus shook his head, “No, the illusion wasn’t exactly turned off… If it was, there would be no way you twelve could re-activate it.”
Selene sighed and nodded. Last time, it took a thousand Gods and Goddesses to add the Veil of Illusion after discovering the existence of World-Eating Demons.
Then, everyone’s attention shifted toward Space. From there, Khione appeared with her baggy white robes silently flapping around her. Her eyes shook as she saw the cracked surface of the Moon.
“Khione, where have you been?” Zeus asked with furrowed brows, “The Goddesses needed your assistance.”
“I am sorry,” Khione replied with her usual cold tone. But, everyone could tell that she was indeed sorry.
She landed next to Selene and was told what had happened. Her face showed shock as Garmagello was mentioned, and even more shocked when the veil of illusion was about to be deactivated.
“Will it last?” She asked, and now, that same question arose in everyone’s mind.
God Zeus sighed and looked toward the invisible World of White, “Not sure… But, when the Veil of Illusion is gone… That will be the day when Demons arrive.”
