Chapter 539 The Navy Vs. Legacy Carriers
Chapter 539 The Navy Vs. Legacy Carriers
Boom!
Isaac explosively kicked the ground and kneed the Assassin’s jaw. As he staggered backward with a bloodied mouth, his ears rang as several more bullets flew.
The Assassin quickly sidestepped to the left, the bullets barely grazing past him. Then, he kicked the ground and dashed forward. With the shining dagger, he unleashed a barrage of slashes.
The wind continued getting cut as the dagger shredded through it like paper.
Isaac weaved through the dagger slashes and lifted the gun before pulling the trigger.
Bang!
The Assassin flinched and quickly slanted his head to the left; the bullet grazed past his cheek, leaving behind a thin trail of blood. However, he promptly shrugged the near-death experience off and stabbed forth with the dagger.
Isaac took a step back; the dagger couldn’t completely reach his figure. As the Assassin stood in an awkward stance, his arm extended and dagger swaying, Isaac suddenly spun around and sent an explosive back-kick.
The Assassin dropped the dagger and crossed his arms. The kick landed on his forearms, pushing him to step back.
Isaac then grabbed the Silvercloud with both hands and spun around with the finger on the trigger. Then, he released another storm of bullets.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!
The citizens had already hurried away from this part of the town. The sound of gunshots even reached the ears of the Guards. Their clinging armors echoed across the air as they ran in the direction of Isaac and Assassin.
The Assassin jumped off the roof, managing to dodge the bullets. As he landed in the alleyway, he quickly disappeared into the shadows and disappeared.
Isaac watched as the tranquility arrived in the town. The immobilized Assassins had also disappeared.
“It’s indeed hard to defeat the Assassins without intention to kill…” Isaac murmured. Since the start of the fight, he never tried to kill them. That was because this wasn’t a game but instead real life.
While he had killed several people in White Online, who were NPCs and ended up being actual humans, Isaac didn’t know what to think about it. They were trying to kill him, and he had to defend himself.
It was the same with the Assassins. However, he couldn’t utter the courage to kill in real life.
Isaac looked down at the Silvercloud and sighed, “Silvercloud, should I have killed them?”
‘They are trash who have most likely killed hundreds. You would have done the world a favor.’
‘Don’t listen to him,’ However, Silvernium suddenly quipped, ‘Unnecessary bloodshed is never right. You didn’t need to kill them; instead, make them retreat, which is what Arthur hoped you to do.’
Isaac sighed and holstered the gun. Then, he jumped off the rooftop and leaped in the direction of the harbor.
…
Near the harbor.
Arthur peeked behind the wall and saw the dead-silent harbor. There were still ships docked, but the bustling part of the town was now eerily quiet.
“Where is everyone?” Xerxus whispered behind Arthur.
Arthur frowned and looked in the direction of his ship. As he waited, he suddenly saw the bearded-man appearing on the deck, waving in their direction.
A smile crept up to Arthur’s face, he motioned for the young man, and they entered the harbor. They ran directly to the ship.
“Arthur.” The Captain shook hands with Arthur and checked the three men, and frowned, “Where is the fourth?”
“He will be here soon,” Arthur said after the gunshots quieted down. While many might think that something might have happened to Isaac, not him. And soon, his trust paid off as a silhouette suddenly appeared in the distance, jumping off the rooftop.
Shortly later, Isaac arrived on the ship.
“Alright, let’s leave.” The Captain said while checking the grayish sky, “There might be a storm approaching.”
Arthur nodded and gave instructions to the men. They began opening the sails, and after the anchor was pulled up, the ship slowly started sailing.
The water splashed against the hull, and the sails flapped as it started picking up wind.
Isaac looked over the handrail at the clean water. The water splashed against the hull, almost sending waterdrops in his direction.
After a short while, the ship left the vicinity of the White Harbor. With a gray sky and yellow sphere above, the weather wasn’t the worst, even though there was some moisture in the air.
However, the peaceful atmosphere soon got disturbed.
The Captain continued using the wheel while controlling the ship. However, then the radar started beeping, an enormous green dot appeared. Before he could say another word, the sky trembled as several missiles flew across the air, coming directly toward them!
Arthur and the men already saw the missiles and unsheathed their weapons.
A long distance away, a warship made of steel and black rock appeared. The sails showed the symbol of Souldeath.
In the command deck, the Admiral of Souldeath Navy barked orders, “Reload and fire!”
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!
Another three missiles flew out of the massive cannons and directly towards the far-away ship.
Isaac hopped on top of the ship’s mast, and his crimson eyes released a powerful crimson beam!
SWOOOSH!
The crimson beam smashed through the missiles effortlessly. However, as the beam’s effectiveness disappeared, there were still three missiles!
Kalzer held the spear in a firm grip, his muscles trembling. Then, he kicked the ground and rotated his shoulder while twisting his waist. The spear flew out of his grasp, slicing through the missiles effortlessly.
As the missiles exploded in the air, the Gungnir returned to Kalzer’s hand.
His raven-colored hair fluttered across his face.
“Sir, all the missiles failed to reach the mark!” The soldiers reported inside the warship.
“Unleash the Gatling gun! RELEASE THE HELL!” The Navy Admiral screamed.
RATATATATATATATATATATATA!
The flaming bullets covered the grayish sky, leaving behind trails of smoke.
The Captain frowned and whipped the wheel around, facing starboard. The ship slowly steered right, the tip of the ship cutting through the waves like a knife.
RATATATATATATATATATA!
Arthur and the four men knelt on the deck as the flaming bullets cut through the ship’s sides like they were pencils making holes in paper. However, half of the bullets missed the ship with a narrow margin.
However, the water soon started slipping into the damaged ship. The holes were large and gravely decreased the speed.
“Xerxus, fix the holes!” Arthur shouted.
Xerxus nodded and dashed to the lower deck. In there, he saw that the floor was already submerged. He cracked his neck and ran across the lower deck, quickly fixing the holes.
The ocean turned as both sides didn’t make any moves.
Isaac holstered the Silvercloud and pulled out the Mosin-Nagant from his inventory. He knelt on the highest peak of the ship and rested the stock against his right shoulder.
Slowly, his hand stabilized, and he could see the far-away warship. With his excellent and inhuman vision, he could see tiny dots moving in the command deck.
After several rapid breaths, he smiled and pulled the trigger.
BANG!
Arthur, Kalzer, and Amour turned to Isaac and saw Isaac firing his sniper rifle.
“Oho.” Arthur smiled sneakily and grabbed binoculars. He hopped on the handrail and looked at the far-away warship with the binoculars. He could barely see the outline of the ship. However, then he saw an explosion!
Isaac’s bullet tore through one of the cannons that had a missile inside. Thus, it exploded, causing fire to spread on the deck. The soldiers controlling the cannons screamed as the fire reached their clothes.
With pain assaulting their senses, they lost their reasoning and jumped off the deck.
Splash!
Waves appeared on the water.
“MEN OVERBOARD!”
