Chapter 609 Protestors Good Bye.

Chapter 609 Protestors Good Bye.

Beneath the arena, Inhumans were hard at work as they used their tools, to fix the massive machine, located right underneath the cobblestone arena. It was the machine that allowed them to transport certain places, from different realms, here.

However, it was currently broken. The machine, had a lengthy crack, which also revealed the machinations inside.

Then, the door to the secret room opened, revealing Heimdall in his usual god setup, ”What is the problem?”

”S-Sir, the machine, Hades’ attacks greatly harmed the machine.” The main engineer, named Kul’on, said while gazing at the vast rock formation. It was the cobblestone arena, and currently, it was filled with cracks with lava swimming around the crevices.

”Can it be fixed?” Heimdall asked.

”For tomorrow? Never.” Kul’on said, shaking his head.

”Damn it.” Heimdall scratched his dreadlocks, and said, ”Fix it as soon as possible. We will skip tomorrow’s fights.”

”Yes sir, we will do our best!”

”You better. Gods, and Goddesses aren’t a patient bunch.” Heimdall said, and left the secret room. As he trekked down the dark hallway, moving uphill towards the surface, he murmured, ”I think we need to start the last phase of the festival earlier… it will keep everyone busy for tomorrow.”

The screens, in both Moon City, and Four Seasons, showed a message of delay in the tournament. However, before the outrage started, thousands of stone portals descended from the heavens, and landed on each Continent.

The portals led straight to Moon City. Thus, it gave everyone a passage to this fabulous city. It was orchestrated by Gods, and Goddesses. They didn’t treat Arthur’s stunt as treason. Instead, their prejudice towards weak humans had lessened, after the previous incident that happened hours ago.

Thus, the portals continued glowing as humans continued stepping into them. Once they arrived in Moon City, they noticed the starry sky stretching far away. They entered a bright, and bustling festival.

The whole city was soon filled with a loud, and festive atmosphere. At first, the humans peered towards the distance, where the beautiful arena stood proudly. There, the strongest players, had gathered.

Isaac leaned against the window, holding the bo-staff in his left hand. He watched as the night festival created an amazing atmosphere. It didn’t matter that it was getting late, the whole festival would easily last the whole night.

Knock, knock… a loud knocks echoed from the door. Isaac stretched the bo-staff toward the doorhandle, and opened the door. Kalzer stood behind the door, hand raised, and fist formed. He was about a knock but then door opened suddenly. He didn’t even hear footsteps.

”You are alright, it seems.” Kalzer said as he leaned against the door, ”You won?”

”Maybe.” Isaac rested the bo-staff against his shoulder, and walked to the door. As he peeked outside, he saw Xerxus, and Amour eavesdropping.

”Y-Yo!” Amour waved with a playful expression.

”What are you guys doing here?” Isaac asked as he entered his room, and sat on the bed. The three men entered his room, and said, ”Let’s go have some fun. We wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway with all this noise.”

”We can always log out.” Isaac chuckled, but was fine with the idea, ”But, sure.”

Xerxus hopped to the window, and whistled, ”Whoo, I don’t understand how everyone can fit into the streets.”

”Let’s go find out.” Amour left the room, followed by the others. They soon left the arena, and entered the bustling streets. They could feel the festive atmosphere as everyone played some kind of game from roadside stalls, and ate fancy foods.

Isaac, along with other young men, sat on a roadside bench while watching the bustling atmosphere.

However, at that moment, he saw protestors, wearing strange ghoul-like masks, raising their signs high.

[Wraith, Not Hero, But Criminal!]

[Stop Wraith’s Terrorism!]

”What the fuck is this?” Amour frowned.

”Well, that might be the reason.” Xerxus snorted while pointing at the sign. It showed Hades’ and Wraith’s images. They drew like Hades, the savior of mankind, and Wraith, a demon who seeks to destroy them.

Their protest caused ire among the Inhumans. They were shoved to the side as the protestors marched forward, shouting loudly, and clearly, ”Wraith, come out, and answer to your crimes!”

Isaac slowly stood up, holding the bo-staff firmly in his hand.

”Isaac?” Kalzer, and the rest frowned as he suddenly stood up. They hoped he wasn’t doing anything foolish.

”I am right here.” Isaac leaned against the bo-staff, and said with a loud voice. At first, not many of the protestors cared, thinking someone greedy for fame was shouting. However, one of them checked, and widened his eyes in terror. He immediately shouted, and this time everyone turned to him, and Isaac.

After seeing Isaac, their eyes showed clear shock. They clearly didn’t expect him to come out. However, after getting rid of the initial shock, they raised their sighs high, and pointed at him, ”Demon is here! Someone arrest him!”

Isaac looked at them with an arched brow. He looked amused as he chuckled.

His chuckle echoed in the street, silencing the protestors. They looked confused. Why was he laughing?

”Ah, I am sorry.” Isaac waved his hand innocently, and with bo-staff, pointed at one of the protestors, wearing Evelyn’s fan shirt, ”At first, I was surprised to see any protestors. However, I am not surprised anymore after seeing the shirt…”

”What do you mean?”

”Well, y’see, I happened to hear an interesting conversation when I was sitting with my friends.” Isaac chuckled before continuing, ”Evelyn, was arrested for sexual harassment, and attempted murder, wasn’t she?”

Several protestors gritted their teeth in anguish.

”I understand, if you try to steer the public’s interest away from that, so your beloved idol doesn’t get more shat on.”

”No, we are here because we really think you are Demon, sent us here to destroy us!” As the leading protestor shouted, he turned to look at his fellow protestors. Several of them turned their gazes away, slightly embarrassed.

Isaac tapped the bo-staff against the pavement, while moving his head left, and right, ”Doesn’t look like that. I forgive you, trying to defame me. However, I am not as kind as Moon Guards.”

”Moon Guards?” The protestors frowned. Then, dozens of well-armed guards marched through the bustling streets. A beautiful moon emblem adorned their chests.

The Moon Guards surrounded the protestors, ”Drop your weapons, this instant!”

”B-But, these are just normal signs!”

”DROP THE WEAPONS, RIGHT NOW!” The Moon Guards unsheathed their swords, frightening the protestors. They dropped their signs, and with quivering legs, they raised their arms in surrender.

”And they really don’t like protestors.” Isaac sighed, and sat back down.
