Chapter 2068: That Can Be Arranged
Chapter 2068: That Can Be Arranged
“It sure is lively here.”
Grey’s calm voice sounded across the forest.
The old man was the one who spoke up, “Don’t you think it’s a bit disrespectful to make us have to look at you like this?”
Grey chuckled as he replied, “Dogs should know when to speak, even your owner dares not find my actions disrespectful.”
The old man choked on his next words as his face turned beet red from the anger of being referred to as a dog. He wanted to retort, but he realized there was nothing he could say, he indeed has masters, and this person gave him the feeling like he could kill him whenever he wanted. This was not a person he dared to provoke.
“Kikiki, a sharp-tongued boy. I wonder how your parents trained you.” The Ninth stage Gnome slowly floated to the sky, stopping directly in front of Grey. Due to the difference in size, he looked like a child with an oversized head from a distance while standing close before Grey.
Seeing the Gnome before him, Grey was a little gobsmacked. He had visited the Gnome World on a couple of occasions, and amongst the humans in the Aurora Continent, none of them has had more interactions with the Gnomes as much as him. One thing he found strange was the exceptionally large head of this Gnome. None of the previous Gnomes he has encountered had a head as large as this one.
The Gnome seemed to sense Grey’s odd gaze on his head and his expression turned even colder, “Brat, if you don’t show some manners I’ll make sure you wish for death.”
“You do not have such abilities.” Grey replied, not caring about the Gnome, he looked around curiously, before his gaze was drawn to a cave, before casually commenting, “Oh, so that’s why you’re all here.”
Grey wanted to take a step in the direction of the cave when the Gnome blocked his path.
“I’ve never seen a boy as arrogant as you are.” The Gnome remarked.
“I just want to take a look at what’s inside the cave, why are you getting so agitated?” Grey’s voice remained as nonchalant as when he first arrived.
“Over my dead body.” The Gnome replied.
“That can be arranged.” Grey’s reply almost sent the Gnome and the rest of the camp spiraling.
This was the first time in their lives they had seen someone appear in the middle of a large number of enemies and not seem to be fazed. If anything, he was so arrogant that each and every single one of them wanted to beat him to death.
“Who’s he? How can he be so arrogant to speak in such a manner?”
“Looks like he’s one of those young geniuses. You know how hotheaded youths can be, especially after gaining such success so young.”
“It’s clear that he has never been to the world. If he had, he would not be this cocky.”
Different conversations spread across the forest floor as those below spoke what they felt about Grey’s attitude.
Grey naturally did not care what they thought about his attitude. He wanted to provoke the Gnome into attacking first, and there was nothing better than to use sharp words.
The Gnome suddenly calmed down when he started to hear all the chatter below, “Do you think you will be able to leave this place alive, much less even have the ability to kill me?”
“If I want to kill you, even if you run with your tail between your legs back to your dirty world, I’ll still come there and beat you and your family to death.” Grey had no plans of stopping his sharp words anytime soon.
The Gnome chuckled, “You’re only in the Ninth stage like myself, what gives you so much confidence?”
Before Grey could continue he added, “I’ve killed a few Ninth stage Sovereigns of your kind, but I don’t think I’ll enjoy their deaths as much as I’d enjoy watching you plead for your life.”
“It’s okay to let your subordinates know you’re afraid.” Grey said before raising a foot, “Now, if you have nothing better to do, I want to see what’s inside that cave.”
As Grey’s foot was about to come down, his figure moved at lightning speed, rushing in the direction of the cave.
The Gnome did not expect him to make a move immediately, but he still reacted accordingly.
“Stop him!” He ordered.
A Seventh stage Sovereign among the Gnomes who was relatively close to the entrance of the cave rushed to block Grey even before the order.
The next scene left the entire crowd speechless.
As both Grey and the Gnome clashed, even before the Gnome could take out his puppet, he was firmly held by Grey on the neck. Like a little child, he could not break free no matter how he struggled. His essence was sealed the instant Grey’s palm gripped his neck. Fear immediately gripped him as he realized he just made a massive mistake.
“Looks like you do not value your life.”
With this statement, a clear snapping sound resounded in the entire forest, stunning every single individual present.
A Seventh stage Sovereign was killed without putting up much of a fight. He could not even put up any form of resistance. If those present did not know any better, they would assume the Gnome allowed Grey to kill him without making a fuss.
The old man from the Faction earlier exchanged glances with the middle-aged man by his side, both seeing the horror in each other’s eyes. The old man can not be considered a particularly strong Eighth stage Sovereign, so when he thought about how easy it was for this Seventh stage Sovereign to be killed, he could not help but feel like there was no way he could deal with this person. Now he understood why he felt like this person could kill him whenever he wanted.
The Ninth stage Gnome was the one who felt the greatest surprise. He could tell this person was very young, so even if his cultivation stage was this high, he did not expect him to have such terrifying fighting prowess.
