Chapter 267: Karim-the space pirate
Chapter 267: Karim-the space pirate
There came a time when the divine race became so strong that they used their powers to separate the land owned by their civilization from the rest of the universe. They created a realm for themselves!
The third line was too exaggerated. It said that the members of the divine race were omnipotent and omniscient, able to control life, destroy stars, know, and see everything happening in the universe composed of three significant realms, the living realm, ghost realm, and hell.
There were no words on the size of each of the realms.
Elliot’s eyebrows raised after he read the translated version of the three verses.
‘Able to control life?! Doesn’t my divine soul matrix also contains the same property! Is the northern duke somehow related to the divine race? Could it be that he was a part of them, and the inheritance in my hands comes from their race?’
Elliot pondered for a while. Although many things seemed to connect, all of them were his speculations. The picture was still burry. The monument gave him some clues as to where his power comes from, and he believed that if there were many other monuments like this one, he might get closer to the truth or even understand all of it.
The question was, were there any monuments except for this one?
He decided to ask the librarian before leaving this place.
For now, he was short on time, and so he decided to select the three books that would help bring him the most profit, increase the chance of his race surviving the upcoming onslaught of the demonic gods, and increase the rate at which he would get stronger.
Elliot started to stroll around the library for pill recipes and combat techniques. After going through many pamphlets, he ended up selecting two pill recipes.
The first one described how to create marks. Now, he already knew what patterns were and what he needed to make them. However, he didn’t know where he could get the ingredients. The book contained such information. It also explained the entire alchemy process. Merely flipping through it was all it took for him to memorize the whole process of creating marks, the ingredients needed to make it, and where to get said ingredients.
The second one was also a pill recipe. It was the energy channel connecting pill. It will come in handy after he finishes creating all his celestial energy channels and opening all of his energy channels.
“Wow, just how rich are you?”
A rich voice came from behind him. Elliot turned around and saw a man dressed in luxury. From head to toe, crystals, gems, and golden accessories covered the man. He was only wearing a khaki lined with gold threads, leaving his upper half exposed. His chest was broad and sturdy. Six-packs rippled down below. The man lacked much body fat and had a slim, muscular build. His looks were rough around the edges, and he had wolfish-white hair and ears. He was a werewolf!
[Name: Karim!]
[Power level: Beyond Magic Emperor!]
[Description: A famous space pirate who had conquered seven starry oceans.]
[Nature: Extremely troublesome.]
After throwing a glance at the man and extracting all the information about him, Elliot looked away, seemingly uninterested.
“Not rich at all.”
He walked away after leaving behind these words. He didn’t want to get involved with a galactic troublemaker, at least not when he wasn’t strong enough to contend against anything beyond the level of the magic emperor. Moreover, he instinctively felt that this space pirate came close to him to loot him of the pill recipes.
“Really? It doesn’t seem like that.”
Karim said after catching up to him. He was able to tell the values of the stuff in Elliot’s hand at a glance. The first recipe was worth ten million spirit points. The second one came at five times that amount, meaning Elliot was ridiculously wealthy. And rich people who spend so much in merely a day were the ones he loved to befriend. Karim had misunderstood the situation and didn’t know that Elliot was just using the free tokens to get them!
“What does it seems like then?”
“Like you’re wealthy?”
Elliot realized that Karim had misunderstood him, and he couldn’t help but pat the latter.
“Use your eyes more often than not.”
He patted him in the same way an elder would pity a mentally disabled youngster.
Elliot didn’t fear his retaliation as they were in the library of the soul race where fighting wasn’t allowed. Breaking the rules might as well cost one life, so he was sure that Karim wouldn’t make a move on him no matter how offended he felt.
Karim felt that something was wrong and felt as if Elliot was ridiculing him.
“Are you making fun of me? Do you know it hurts my feelings?” Karim said in a hurt voice, making many eavesdropping bats think that he was friends with Elliot and that he was emotionally hurt because Elliot was giving him the cold shoulder.
Many people were peeking glances at them. Elliot could feel their piercing gaze on his back. He immediately looked back at them. With the use of the extraordinary power belonging to his mutated right eye, he discovered that they were galactic agents who had camouflaged as nobles and royals to spy on the space pirate Karim.
They were here to gather information about Karim, such as the people with who he interacts so that they could later use it to their own advantage to take him down.
Elliot had no interest in being on their radar.
“Mister, I don’t know you, and you don’t know me, so what if I hurt your feelings?” Elliot said out loud, so every onlooker would hear him loud and clearly. He did it to solve any and all misunderstandings. Karim’s expression fell. He seemed deeply hurt? “If you didn’t like that, how about you bug off?” Elliot added.
