Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 323: Saving Freya again

Chapter 323: Saving Freya again

And it turned out being attentive to his surroundings proved to be useful.

He was looking out for danger, and thanks to that, he detected an assassin spider that had burrowed through the sand and reached just a few steps away from Freya.

She was recovering without a care in the world as she was sure that he would protect her from all dangers.

And so she failed to realize that there was a bump in the surface behind her snd it was moving closer to her.

“Swoosh!”

The assassin spider leaped out of the sand to assassinate it using its eight steel-like legs that could penetrate through the defensive barrier of magic lords.

Freya was a magic lord herself, so her reflexes were super fast, and just as it came out of the sand, she realized that her life was under threat, and without wasting a single moment, she rolled out of the way of its poisonous legs.

It missed her by a few inches and reacted immediately by spewing a poisonous arrow from its opened mouth.

It shot towards her so fast that it took her entire vision hostage in a mere moment.

The poisonous arrow of green color was so close to her that both her eyes reflected only it.

Fear Freya’s pretty eyes.

However, the worst didn’t happen to her.

A golden mist rolled around her, and the poison landed on it. Under the corrosion of the poison, the golden fog dissipated quickly, but it had done its job and protected her.

Right after, a sword passed by her and stabbed into the head of the spider that tried to assassinate her, killing it.

“Are you alright?”

After creating many golden spiders and ordering them to fight his enemies, Elliot, who multitasked to save Freya, came up to her, grabbed her hand, helped her back to her feet, and asked if she was feeling okay.

“Thanks to you, my lord, I managed to survive the assassination without any injury. You saved my life once again; I don’t know what I can do to repay you.” Freya said as a smile blossomed on her face. As he said before, with a smile, she looked ten times more beautiful. He gulped when he saw her beaming towards her and acting coy with him.

“It’s just good that you’re alive; no need to think about anything else,” Elliot said as he turned his eyes away from her so that he would remain immune to her mesmerizing beauty.

Once Freya was out of his sigh, she was also out of his mind.

He focused on killing the spiders that were endlessly crawling out of the many entrances to the spider lair.

The spiders weren’t too strong, but they weren’t too weak either. In a one-on-one fight, they could lay waste to magic Grandmaster and could only assassinate magic lords like cowards. But the one they were fighting against was as good as magic emperors and, in some sense, far better than one. And so, they met their end at his hand. It took him two hours to take down tens of thousands of spiders.

Elliot created many golden human-like clones and dismantled them, taking their dark hearts, heart blood, and venom pouches for himself. At the same time, he extracted the essence of life out of them and ended gaining another million!

“I have the heart blood of many beasts, many sets of dark hearts, and numerous liters of venom of assassin spiders, and now I only need mutated star silk and ginseng king or queen, and then I will have all the necessary ingredients to create the elixir! With that, I can make Lisa and others evolve their superpowers to A-rank! Spider queen, thank you for wasting many years of your life to collect so many resources for me. I will use them to destroy your kind.”

Elliot laughed in his mind. He was too close to his goal of making a magician guild where each magician would’ve Rank-A supernatural cells!

“My lord, you’re too great. You don’t let anything go to waste.”

“Nothing impressive.” Elliot said, “Just a habit of mine.”

Freya had never seen someone as resourceful as Elliot. In truth, he was just greedy, and that was why he ripped off everything precious from all the enemies they had come across. Freya was so blind to his holy halo that she took him as resourceful. She didn’t know that if she were really his enemy, he would have taken all her equipment after killing her, leaving her naked body for his undead monsters to eat.

Elliot looked at his ongoing trial window.

[Completed Task.]

[Find the secret of the unholy Necropolis (Completed)]

[Kill all the wyverns (Completed)]

[Kill 50 Flesh-Eating Spiders (Completed)]

[Kill 50 Unholy Elves (incomplete)

[Find a way out of the unholy necropolis (Incomplete)]

He only needed to complete the last two, and he would gain the three gates to three different planets!

Elliot summoned his undead.

“Eat them and catch up to us.” He commanded them.

Kayn and the others started eating the burned, deep-fried, half-fried, and raw spiders as Elliot and Freya walked towards the lair entrance.

The entrance was too small, and they had to crawl to enter the spider lair.

It was mostly empty of its inhabitants.

“My lord, should I guide you?”

“Please do.”

“The spider lair comprises five areas, area 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. There’s a teleportation portal out of the necropolis in area 1 and area 6. In area 7, there’s a huge storage of demonic energy crystals. Area 5 is a breeding ground for spiders, and it has many eggs that produce three to four spiders every other day. Area 4 has the teleportation circle to the 3rd area, and I can activate it using my blood.” Freya explained to him.

Elliot thought for a moment and came up with a plan. “We will head straight to area 5, destroy all the spider-producing eggs, and then take the portal of the fourth area to head to the 3rd one.”
