Chapter 2572 - Flameyellow Bloodsoul
Chapter 2572 – Flameyellow Bloodsoul
Tianming looked down at the ancient and heavy coffin of the gods. The eternal murals and patterns on its surface made his blood rush.
“I haven’t looked inside myself. Let’s open it together,” Wudi said with a stern look. He stared at the Flameyellow Coffin and said, “My Little Coffin, open!”
Tianming almost fainted at that; Lin Xiaodao also loved to refer to his treasured drinking guard in a similar manner. Are all single middle-aged men like them this weird?
Calling Wudi a middle-aged man was a little off, as he wasn’t even a hundred years old. According to the standards of infinitum-class worlds, he was a youth by all accounts! His experiences had forced him to mature much faster, however.
The coffin rumbled heavily as it opened, causing the ground beneath them to shake. Tianming flew back into the air to look at the lid. Given its immense mass, the world shook as the coffin flew into the air, making a large hole in the pink cloud layer above. Then the lid slammed heavily into the ground.
“Thankfully, everyone else is inside the Sky Palace Formation…” Tianming said, relieved. He looked inside the coffin.
“What’s that?” He saw steam rising from within the coffin, blocking his view. The first thought that occurred to him was that it was filled with lava that continuously generated vapor. Using his Sky Plundering Eye, he managed to identify some kind of crimson-gold liquid filling up the coffin. It looked like a rectangular sea stretching from end to end within the coffin and was probably as deep as the coffin was tall. While it didn’t look as blazing hot as he had imagined, it still made him short of breath. Subconsciously, he knew that the liquid carried an overwhelmingly ancient, primordial weight.
“Why does it seem like blood of some kind?” Blood with traces of gold? He inspected it closer and noticed a nondescript soul power within the blood-like substance that was intrinsically bound to the ocean of crimson-gold liquid.
“Godfather, what’s that?” he asked in awe. Seeing the absolutely flabbergasted look on Wudi’s face, he knew that he had realized something.
“Flame! Yellow! Blood! Soul!” Wudi stammered.
“Flameyellow Bloodsoul? What’s that?”
“It’s the liquid the sun emperor and I were bathed in. That’s the thing that gave me an extra bane-ring!”
“Wait, bathing in it gives you another bane-ring?” That came as a huge shock and was why Wudi was so agitated. It was a rare substance that they barely had any of before, but there was a whole ocean of it now! Who knew how many people could bathe in it for years at a time?
“Not just that! I think Flameyellow Bloodsoul is a kind of bloodline soul legacy the flameyellow divinities left behind! They knew that, eventually, the Flameyellow Bloodline would be lost, so they must’ve had a way to preserve it for their descendants. Even though they can’t make their descendants actual flameyellow divinities, they’d at least be able to increase their bloodline, soul, and a myriad of other talents! Perhaps the extra bane-ring is only one type of benefit. As long as their descendants’ talent could be improved, they would eventually find a way to restore the flameyellow divinities to glory!”
The flameyellow divinities’ fall was marked by the Flameyellow Imperial Star’s decline into the Sun. Their kind had hit rock bottom, and those that remained barely had any Flameyellow Bloodline to speak of. If the Flameyellow Bloodsoul was really something that could improve the talent of their descendants, it would be key for the rise of the denizens of the Sun to the level of other elite factions in the astralscape!
“Kid, looks like you hit the jackpot.” Wudi excitedly squished Tianming’s face, speaking so loudly that his saliva splattered all over it.
“Godfather, we hit it big!” Tianming was still a little dazed at the discovery. The mere sight of the sea of divine nectar that flowed within the coffin made him understand how mighty the flameyellow divinities once were to have considered how to help their descendants after their decline. There could be no grander expression of hope, love, and compassion.
As for how it was made, Tianming had no idea at all. As a descendant, his duty was to be a good custodian of his forebears’ legacy. “Maybe it’s something only higher lifeforms can produce.” I bet the flameyellow divinities would never guess that one of their descendants would inherit the legacy of the Primordial God-Emperor either.
Their new task was to test out what kind of effects the Flameyellow Bloodsoul had and estimate how many people they could grant the boon to.
“I’ve already bathed in it for a long time, so let me be the guinea pig!” Wudi dove into the pool of liquid without a single splash.
“At least wash yourself before you dive in!” Tianming shouted, but Wudi was already gone. The Flameyellow Coffin was deathly silent, making him a little nervous. There was no proof yet that this batch of Flameyellow Bloodsoul was the same as the one Wudi had used before. He didn’t dare to go in before Wudi emerged, either, so he waited.
“He’s fine! He’s even playing around deep inside. Tianming, Uncle Void here will also go in to bathe!” the void kunpeng said, then turned into a gigantic kun and dove into the liquid. Even a huge beast like it didn’t displace any of the liquid at all; the sea was truly deep beyond imagination.
“Aaaaah! This feels good! Really good!” Wudi suggestively moaned as he popped out to the surface. Then he landed in front of Tianming, the liquid dripping off his body.
“How do you feel, Godfather? Any effects?” Tianming impatiently asked.
