283 Cat Dad’s B1 Boss Meets Valkyrie

Chapter 283 – Cat Dad’s B1 Boss Meets Valkyrie

The battle between Yuan Shaoqing’s forces and Gata’s mannequins was concluded. The Puta Slayer managed to defeat grinning spiders and chase away the immortals. However, the war was far from over.

Before nightfall, Joan and her troops found the entrance to the red corridor. Countless footprints of Yuan Shaoqing’s men and grinning spiders messed with the rotten seaweed and caused ripples in the swamp. Moreover, the Qi in the air entwined and entangled as corpses expelled residual Qi from their bodies, causing them to flow freely in the air.

Joan crouched and inspected the footprints. Then, she glared at the pillar formation, which had been repaired.

“Bring the players here. Give them a quest to attack the array and break through this place.”

As usual, Joan used players as sacrificial lambs by offering them Contribution EXP in return.

.

A few hours later, 10,000 players followed the guides and reached the dark area. Everybody came here for the quests.

The Einherjars gave every player an explosive device and taught them how to operate it. They then sent the players to destroy the pillar wall.

Joan and the Einherjars retreated 100 meters and waited for the players to finish the job. It didn’t take long for the naïve players to detonate the bombs.

BOOM

As soon as the bombs exploded, over 2,000 players sank into the solid floor, getting teleported deeper into the dungeon. However, the path was open.

The remaining players received the quest completion rewards. They ignored the unfortunate victims and celebrated their success.

After the wall was gone, the players ignored Joan’s troops and approached the massive wall with 50 doors. They rushed toward the doors and opened them.

The rooms were all unlocked. The 8,000 players rushed inside, hoping to find treasures or monsters to kill.

Upon getting inside, they found blank rooms and more doors, which connected to the red corridor. Half of them entered the area without hesitation, but the other half delayed their decision as the red corridor resembled something from the internet horror story.

VRRRRRRR

pAn,da n<0,>v,e1 As the latter half of the players had predicted, a loud siren came from the red corridor. Then, the doors on the other side of the corridors burst open.

Metal mannequins rushed out. They screamed and charged at the 4,000 players in the corridor.

Most players were under level 150. Facing level-999 mannequins with Gata’s buff, they were quickly decimated. All four thousand players in a narrow corridor got ambushed and dragged into the mannequin rooms, where they met a fate worse than death.

.

“So, they were wiped out? As expected, they’re useless in combat.”

Joan received the report from Einherjar scout. She laughed at the players’ demise.

While Joan was laughing at the players, Battlefield Warlord visited her mentor. She also had something to report.

“Master, I have a report.”

“Speak!” Joan turned to BW, who stood behind her.

“Many players nickname this dungeon the Backrooms. It appears that there’s an internet myth about the metric-like place that was created by game software or something. The place contains discarded props and material resources. All creatures here have gone through multiple mutations and evolutions due to the backrooms’ distorted nature, just like this dungeon.”

“Nonsense! They’re just stupid folklore that delusional powerless losers came up with. It’s irrelevant to this dungeon.”

“What if Xiaomao got inspiration from it and made the backrooms reality?”

“…”

Joan’s expression changed. She stood up and faced BW, “If that’s the case, what can we do to exploit it?”

BW pondered, “No clue.”

“Tsk! Then, why are you bringing this up?!”

“That’s because we lack information. Don’t you agree? We keep running into traps and random ambushes because we don’t know anything about the dungeon. What if we take a step back and study the tale before we continue the siege?” For more chapters, please visit pand(a-n0vel.c)om

“…”

Joan solemnly stared at BW. She slightly nodded, “Good. Gather the players and give them quests. Tell them to share us the backrooms information from Earth.”

“Alright! But, what are we going to do with the fight over there?” BW pointed at the commotion behind the large wall with 50 doors.

The battle reached the 4,000 players that hadn’t entered the red corridor. It was a matter of time before the players were wiped out.

“That place seems to be their hunting ground. Since they are gathering over there, the Einherjars and I will use our long-ranged domains and clear the path.”

After speaking, Joan activated her constellation domain. A large dome appeared and expanded like a wave of radar. A few seconds later, the dome covered the entire red corridor.

“I have five domain powers. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use any of them in the Guild War because of Mu-Nyang’s intervention. But with Lord Odin and Freya’s blessings, I can use all my power here!”

DING

<You have used the Domain of Soul Hunting.>

<You can detect every living being in your domain.>

<Once a day, you can snatch 100 mortal souls from their bodies if they enter your domain.>

<Once a day, you can destroy 3,700 soulless beings inside your domain.>

<This domain doesn’t work on immortals with a level of 3,701 or higher.>

Seeing the notification messages, Joan snorted and dismissed them. She already knew what her power was, and she didn’t need the reminder.

Joan closed her eyes. Instantly, she could see everything in a radius of 10 kilometers, including the floors below the dungeon.

“I don’t see the cave above, so this might be inside a pocket dimension. If I treat this floor as the B1 level, then, the lower levels are B2, B3… oh, it only goes up to B6.”

In her vision, she couldn’t see the entire layout of the six floors. However, she managed to measure the depth of the dungeon.

After securing the info, Joan shifted her attention to the fight inside the red corridor next.

In the corridor area, over 5,000 rooms on the opposite side of the corridor hid countless mannequins in there. Most of them were silver-chrome dolls. A few ants and war maidens wandered around, but they merely transported something to the mannequins in the area.

The mannequins were soulless creatures. Although Joan could easily kill them if she wanted to, she didn’t want to waste the daily quota now. She kept on scanning the rooms, searching for the elites or the commanders of these monsters.

A minute later, Joan found a hidden passage, which connected one of the 5,000 rooms with a blue corridor. The path led directly to an isolated area that didn’t link with other parts of the maze.

In the deepest part of the hallway, it was a huge landmass with countless machines. Also, a suspicious passage to the lower floor was also noticeable due to the wide flat escalator, which was commonly found in modern supermarkets.

On the escalator, many level-50 work ants carried leftover body parts of dead players to the B2 floor. Some of them carried canteens of player blood, but most of them had a piece of human flesh in between their mandibles.

What surprised Joan was the entity in the large room. A strange cat-girl-like mannequin rested her hands on her waist, looking up as if she had noticed Joan’s all-seeing eyes. Joan also heard the cat girl’s voice.

“PUTA!!”

“!!!”

Joan snapped open her eyes and spat several mouthfuls of blood.

DING

<Gata, the Puta Slayer, has destroyed your Domain of Soul Hunting!>

<You have suffered from backlash damage!>

<You can no longer use the Domain of Soul Hunting for 7 days!>

Just like what had happened in the Guild War, Joan’s HP dropped by half!
