Chapter 192 - Brain Cells: Cmd.exe Error
Chapter 192 – Brain Cells: Cmd.exe Error
The moment Sofia finished her words, her members appeared to have expanded their horizons. They looked at one another and nodded their heads.
Claire crossed her legs and leaned comfortably on the couch. She took a deep breath and spoke, "That is some profound evaluation you have, Sof."
"Not really. There are many dimensions to consider too. But, I'm too inexperienced to know it," Sofia giggled. This time, her words were sincere.
"Being a celebrity seemed scarier than I initially imagined. I think there is no need to contact that number," Joey muttered, feeling conflicted about what he had heard.
"It's not scary. You already know what to expect. Why would you be scared?" Sofia stated.
"Ahh… Sof, that's exactly why I am scared now. Because I already know that there is so much pressure on the entertainment world," Joey defended. Innocence is indeed a bliss. If he had not known the risk, he would have already decided to venture the entertainment world. But now, he was reluctant and decided not to be bothered by the pressure of the industry.
"Guys, there is competition everywhere. It's normal. What matters the most is where our passion lies. Anyway, we are still students, and what we want to do today may change after we graduate. Let's choose the path that makes us happy," Sofia spoke and then she shifted her gaze at Joey, "If acting makes you happy, don't waste that chance, Joey. The real world might be terrifying, but that makes our living very interesting."
"Only you would probably think of it as interesting, Sof," Claire commented with a reluctant expression on her face.
"Hehe, don't be so skeptical now, guys. I'll give you three situations, alright. So you will understand why it is interesting," Sofia spoke and thought deeply.
"Yes. Tell us, Sof!" Clark murmured. Her other members also waited for a while giving her their full attention.
"Hmmn…Let's see… In the eyes of non-gamer, the gaming world is complicated. Do you agree?" Sofia questioned.
"Well, that's true. With so many commands and combinations to memorize in the game, they would probably complain to have a headache," Clark took the initiative to respond.
"Yes. On top of that, they have to familiarize the map of the game and the right build for the character. The non-gamer will get frustrated after series of defeats and would eventually stop playing. But to us, this stuff is nothing. If we will encounter defeat, we will be excited to improve our skills. Why? Because we are enjoying the game and so we are eager to learn new strategies and tactics. It does not matter how complicated the game is. What matters is how to conquer it," Sofia said.
"Yeah," the members subconsciously agreed. Obviously, they could easily relate to it.
"Same goes to the entertainment world. Celebrities would not mind the pressure of standing on the stage where the spotlight is focused on them. They will continue to pursue a perfect image for the people who believed in them because this makes them feel more alive," Sofia added while glancing at the clock on the wall. She had not yet forgotten that she had to attend the wedding rehearsal.
"And in the corporate world, businessmen would simply take the risk between gaining or losing finances when they invest. Win or lose, they will continue to strive and do their best to reach their goals. Now, what do you think are the similarities of those three?" Sofia finished her statement with a question. She looked at them in the eyes while trying to read if they had fully grasped her words.
In the middle of brainstorming, these four teens looked slightly troubled. It was as if their brain cells had just sent a signal of 'cmd.exe error' to their brain. They just looked at Sofia unable to utter any response.
Minutes passed by, and Sofia waited for any of them to speak. However, it was but Jing Jing who responded to Sofia with another question.
"What is it? Hehe, Ms. Sofia, do tell us the similarity."
"Hmmn… Whichever field, whatever career it is… there is something about what they are doing that excites them. And this is why life becomes interesting. Because, you and me, all of us have a different thing that excites us," Sofia easily replied.
"Ohh…" the four teens nodded.
"Very well said, Ms. Sofia," Jing Jing said with admiration.
"Hehe, thank you, sister Jing. By the way, guys, I will be attending a wedding this 25th. You are also invited. But, since the bride asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, I will go to the rehearsal later," Sofia announced.
"Oh my… could it be the wedding of the young master of the Lee Family and the mayor's daughter?" Jing Jing reacted. She had heard of the wedding when she purchased a cake. But, she did not expect that they would be invited.
"Yes! Sister Jing, you are really from the press. Even this private event, you are aware already. They kept this as a secret to the public, but Brent is inviting us to witness their union," Sofia stated.
"Wow, these big figures… it's like a wedding that literally symbolizes money and authority!" Claire commented. Indeed, it was such a powerful union of two distinguished families.
"That's right! Brent is wealthy, and Grace's family holds the political power," Sofia agreed and took a glance at Stephen.
The man raised his eyebrow after their eyes met. It was as if asking her a question, 'What?'
Sofia slightly shook her head and looked away. Even though she had already mentioned this matter to Stephen before… she was still curious about his reaction now.
"That's so nice of them to join together," Jing Jing commented. "I have finalized the agreement that you have discussed earlier. Sofia, do you want to check them now?"
"Yes!" Sofia replied and moved towards Jing Jing. After checking the content, she gave her a satisfactory smile. "This is accurate. Well done, sister Jing. Let's forward this file to the front desk and have this printed."
The front desk of the ground floor of their apartment provides students various services such as photocopying, printing, and scanning. Since neither Claire nor Sofia owned a printer machine, they would usually use this services in the front desk if they needed something.
