Back at the edge of the mystic realm where Xuan Hao had been looking for the teleportation formation that his disciple should have wandered into during his absence, Xuan Hao finally concluded that the teleportation formation he was looking for had either been destroyed or disappeared along with his disciple. Forcing him to give up on his plan to use the teleportation formation to quickly cross the distance between the outer edge of the mystic realm and where his disciple had ended up.
Because of this, Xuan Hao wasted no time as he rushed in the direction that he could faintly sense the presence of the mark he had left on Mui before having left her to train by herself.
At the very least, because the mark in question was connected directly to his soul, it didn't matter how far away it was or what kind of formation Mui might be trapped inside of, as he would still be able to easily sense her location.
The only problem was that he had clearly sensed that Mui had somehow been moving further away from him and deeper into the mystic realm over the past few days.
Considering that he had explicitly told her just how dangerous the deeper regions of the mystic realm was and that she should try her best to avoid going too deep into the mystic realm, he understood that she had either been forced to move deeper because something was chasing after her, or she had her direction confused and ended up accidentally moving deeper into the mystic realm.
No matter what it was, Xuan Hao understood that Mui's current situation was an extremely dangerous one.
After all, as she moved deeper into the mystic realm, she would encounter more and more powerful demon beast at the Domain Lord Realm and above.
Although he had given her quite a few talismans to protect herself and kill off any powerful demon beast that might try and attack her, he also understood that the sheer number of powerful demon beasts would be able to easily overwhelm her even if she had the help of talismans.
After all, the number of talismans was limited, while the number of powerful demon beasts in the deeper regions of the mystic realm were countless.
For now, he could only hope that she wasn't carelessly using the talismans he had left for her and was instead doing her best to preserve them and avoid any powerful demon beast she encountered if possible.
"From my current speed, I would need at least two weeks to reach her current location. Possibly longer depending on the dangers along the way…" Muttering this to himself as he looked towards the depth of the mystic realm that easily covered an area no less than a massive empire like the Blue Sea Empire, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit worried as he set off in the direction of Mui.
Although he had a bad feeling about how long it would take him to reach Mui and the fact that he had essentially wasted around three days or precious time searching for a teleportation formation that didn't exist, he also understood that Mui's situation shouldn't be too bad considering that the final defenses he had left for her were still intact after at least three days in the deeper regions of the mystic realm.
If she had ended up in a demon beast infested forest filled to the brim with powerful demon beasts in the Domain Lord Realm and above, her last line of defense that had been left behind by him to trigger by themselves when she encountered a deadly threat, would have long since triggered.
After all, the speed of a Peak Domain Lord Realm or Soul Ascension Realm demon beast would be far too fast for Mui to even have the chance to trigger any of the talismans he had left behind for her to defend herself.
Essentially, her only form of protection against powerful demon beasts like that was the last line of defense that would trigger by themselves when she was in danger.
Of course, even though this was reassuring knowing that none of those defenses had ended up triggering, he was still worried about how many talismans she had left after an entire three days inside the deeper regions of the mystic realm.
The main reason was that she would still have to survive for at least another two weeks with the talismans she had… And considering that she might not know this, she could accidentally end up wasting all of her talismans in the first few days and end up dead before he had a chance to reach her!

At the same time Xuan Hao was worrying about Mui wasting all of her protection talismans, the person in question was wandering around the outer edges of the ancient city ruins. Looking towards the fog-covered walls of the city filled with helplessness.
No way out… Why can't there be just a tiny gap for me to squeeze through! Do I really have to use the talismans left by master to force my way through…?
Thinking this to herself as she looked down at the talisman firmly grasped between her fingers, Mui had not yet decided to even use a single of the talismans that her master was worrying about her running out of.
Of course, the main reason for this was that she had quickly realized that to force her way through the golems defending the walls of the ancient city ruins, she would not just have to use a single talisman, but would have to use a lot, if not all of them.
After all, she wouldn't just have to use a single talisman to break through the wall of golems blocking her way out of the ancient city but would also have to deal with the golems that came to attack her after she blew open a path.
And… Considering the sheer number of golems lined up on the ancient walls from what she could guess by the dense fog, Mui feared that she would go through all of her talismans before she managed to escape from the ancient city and deal with the countless golems that would come rushing towards her.

No matter what, witnessing such a situation only made her more terrified of the demon beasts hiding in the dense fog around the ancient city walls.
At the same time, she also confirmed for certain that there was indeed something hidden inside the dense fog, something she had started to doubt after witnessing the sheer scale of the ancient city walls.
"Should I try and go back into the ancient city ruins and see if there is another way out deeper inside the city?" Muttering this to herself as she continued wandering around the outer edge of the city without finding a single gap in the dense fog covered walls, Mui ultimately thought about returning to the deeper parts of the ancient city to search for a way out.
All things considered; she still remembered the way she first got into the city by the help of an ancient teleportation formation.
With that in mind, she thought that she might be able to find another ancient teleportation formation and use it to get out of the ancient city ruins in the same way that she had first entered the ancient city ruins.

Hearing yet another roar from the direction of the fog covered walls at this moment, followed by witnessing a massive demon beast the size of a small mountain getting swallowed by the dense fog. Only to turn into a corpse a few seconds later, Mui came to a decision before making her way back into the ancient city ruins.
Although the ancient city walls were a way she could escape, she didn't dare risk wasting all of the talismans that her master had left for her on something that might not even work and would possibly put her in an even more dangerous situation.
Instead, she wanted to try and head deeper into the ancient city ruins and see if she would be lucky enough to find another ancient teleportation formation that she would be able to use to escape from the ancient city ruins.
